I think they have really strong visuals and a great hornline/brass book but the movements don't flow at all and the theme is extremely vague and uninteresting. Imo Cross has had an 12th-10th place corps for the past 2 seasons but they haven't had the show design to put them above BK/Troop
8:15 I seriously thought this will turn into a modern classic emotional Crossmen ballad moment like 16,17,18 but then just turns a very jarring musical change. No disrespect to the performers at all, but man the program design and movements had gone down hill since 2022.
I hate how the blue devils have turned dci into this. boring abstract snoozefest shows nobody cares about, over-performing to please the judges with dance degrees making all the guard and pit look like deranged dorks, annoying "subversive jazz elements" so the audience never walks away humming a song. Nothing in this performance is entertaining to anyone that isn't a dci nerd already, and that's sad. compare this show to 2012 crossmen and it's night and day the difference.
