You earned a sub from me amazing recommendations! I have read Dororhedoro and Dai Dark currently love both! Fun fact Q Hayashida was an assitant for Blame! (if you didn't know about that already.
thanks so much! glad you like the vid ya know i had heard that for years and was actually gonna mention that in this video until i googled it again to make sure and found out that it was just a rumor, she never worked as an assistant on blame. she actually was never an assistant on any manga ever, not sure how the rumor got started, but its a really easy one to believe considering she is a fan of blame's author and def takes some inspo
thanks so much :) i have no plans of stoppin youtube. im editing a video right now... well its kind of a shitpost video, but i think itll be really funny and entertaining
Thanks for the great recommendations. I’m a real art nerd especially when it comes to manga & you always got the hook up for intriguing unique artwork. Not mention the great storytelling, not to mention the great presentation of your vids w music that makes it very enjoyable to sit back & listen while I draw. Love your vids!
and yeah unique or intriguing art is definetely super important for me in a manga. feel free to share any place where i can check out your art btw :) id like to see it
Great video!! As I’m more on the alternative comics/ cartoonists side of things it’s difficult to find recommendations for manga that aren’t the same. Every video or reddit post I see are saying the obvious Berserk, vagabond, Junji Ito, Monster, 20th century boys, Vinland saga and Dorohedoro. I really want to check out stuff that’s a bit outside the norm. Taiyou Matsumoto has been a great find and I really love seeing his art style
@@gameingwithnapi1376 just tried out the first chapter of both and was blown away by the frantic exciting pace of the witch and the beast. then i was equally impressed by the really good art in witch hat atleier and it seemed like the premise was gonna lead to really cool mysteries about the magic of that world. thanks for the reccs :)
Thanks for another 10 of these hidden gems , will definitely read them . I'd like to recommend a few for you : 1) kakukaku shikajika 2) onanie master Kurosawa 3) 3 days of happiness 4) the gods lie 5) a look back 6)omoide enamon
Thanks for putting this together! Another new subscriber. 👍 I have books 1-3 of Dai Dark on the way, I’ve been reading Dorohedoro and really enjoying it.
The author of Ashizurisuizokukan makes very interesting works, I checked out all of their ( available in EN ) works and so far has not disappointed one bit.
I also really loved Boys Run The Riot. You have incredible taste and I like the way you lay things out. Subscribed and I've filled up my reading list with the recommendations I hadn't read!
Hidden gems for me - Piano in the forest - Ao ashi - Wondance - Bambino - Blue Giant - Kakukaku shikajika - Witch hat atelier - Blue period (im glad, it already have anime adapatation) - Aragane no ko - Hammer Session
not sure if you know it but "Usogui" is awesome, its a really serious seinen gamble manga, with 500 chapters awesome art fights and story, and i can highly recommend it
yooooooo i had never heard of Usogui and typically im not that into gambling manga, but dang this is a fun read. i already read a couple volumes, its hard to put down
there are so many more cool blendings of artstyles in techniques that i didnt have time to show in the vid. its such a unique, cute, surreal, and fun work of art
thanks so much :) my setup that i record with is a shure sm7b mic, cloudlifter preamp, and an m-audio audio interface. i don't have any soundproofing or an ideal room to record in so i do some post production to remove noise. i use a plugin that comes with fruity loops called edison to analyse the room noise and then "denoise" my vocal recording. then after that i do some eq and compression and i slap on an effect in fruity loops called the soundgoodizer which does exactly what it sounds like lol
i actually have tried out both of those. the artwork in ultra heaven is like nothing else, i probably wouldve put it in a vid already, but i remember the story being a little all over the place and a bit f'ed up.maybe i should give it another shot and make sure tho cuz that art was nuts. takemitsuzamurai was also awesome, but i never finished it for some reason, thanks for reminding me i gotta finish that one
dai dark did start over 2 years ago so i dont think its crazy new. but hmm i suppose recency doesnt factor in as much for me as it does for other people when calling something a hidden gem. i more heavily weigh how much attention i think the manga deserves vs how much its getting even if its relatively new.
I can’t even tell yet if it’s gonna be as great as dorohedoro yet, so I just can’t seem to see it as a hidden gem yet but I still think from my perspective that it gets big attention from the manga community but other than that great list
@@kumagawa5028 i see where you're coming from. personally i hadnt seen that much talk about it yet so i wanted to highlight it. but yeah its the follow up to a super popular manga so people are definetely talking about it in the community
