*Update!* The movie in it's entirety is now available to legally watch for free on UA-cam like I was hoping it would be: ua-cam.com/video/GKySknAiFMc/v-deo.html Update 2: it's no longer available 💀
Glad I downloaded the film before they took it down. Although I did find the film uploaded by another yt channel with a different title: "Technotise: Edit i Ja HD (Ceo Film Srpski) HD" and you can still access the older video through a wayback machine. Hopefully this one will stay longer.
Actually, people in Serbia rarely know about this movie, I only know it because I had a DVD when I was a kid and I rewatched it countless times. I disagree about the sex scene, I think it was done beautifully, the fact that it was her subconsciousness and simulated sensations and all. Also about the wierd scene in the parliment, I don't understand it either, but it gives me a certain feeling that I can't describe, the atmosphere of the whole movie is like that. I believe that the creators really managed to portray a believable future for Belgrade which I suppose you could only understand if you were born in Serbia hahahah. Nevertheless, this was a great review and I am glad that I found it. It makes me happy that people outside of Serbia are talking about it.
The Slobodan Milošević scene while legendary is made just to show (in my opinion) one of these two things 1: Edits grandfather is a crazy old man and a conspiracy theorist 2: We really don't know what happens behind goverment doors, so maybe crazy conspiracy theory can be real or things are worse than we can comprehend with our minds.
Its a commentary on the then political situation when the movie was made in 2001-05 of the new democratic goverment and the transitional democratic goverment, after milosevic and the bombing the country was taken on a new neoliberal economic plan to transition from our socialist to liberal capitalist system with many privatisations of companies, layoffs, dowsizing of goverment institutions all handeled bad by the new democratic politicans and made even worse by the army of commies left over from yugoslavia. This army of commies/halfbaked shizo nationalists is the 8 tentical monster from milosevics head that embeded itself into serbia and will stay for a few more decades in one way or the other. Vote SPS
It's actually not the first Serbian animated feature although it was marketed as such. The first one was Film Noir (2007), a cel shaded CG film. But that was in English with American voice actors, so Technotise is the first Serbian Serbian language animated film.
Aleksa Gajic- Gajic is pronounced way different.. It's like Guyitch is what should sound most acuratelly... Your pronunciation sounded like it's kind of mid-east surname xD Btw, nice review!
Great video! I watched the movie just today, forgot it existed even tho I'm serbian. I really do agree, they were too horny, everything is about sex when it's not about the main plot. But yeah. This is impressive as a project they only worked on for the passion. It has some smooth animated moments even tho it was that limited.
The scene out of context where Edit is with her dealer friend, she realises she can memorize what she read minutes ago on paper... That's kind of her surprise and his following same sound after her as confirmation of her conclusion... Like you'd realize _Oooooooooohhhh, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaterrrrr_ and I'd confirm that saying _Waaaater water_
Love your thoughts on the film, I remember when I was not even a teenager in 2010 and watched it because my dad showed it to me... Serbian parents are crazy hahaha
