We have a Scarab 285 from Matt, great to deal with.
Lovely detailed video of the 285, well done.
Performance is spectacular, but we really need the US 300hp engines that are sadly not available due to emissions here in Europe.
The sound system is absolutely mind blowing and also the RGB lighting stands out.
Fuel mileage is outstanding, a bit loud inside, but still great to enjoy.

Thank you for the tour. Just know that the water does not flow in neutral as stated. When the mechanism drops that you were pointing out, it reverses the water flow. That is how you get reverse since the drive screws only pull water from front to back.

You’re clueless. The engine cooling relies on water pressure in the jet housing, so there must always be some flow. The impellers are directly connected to the crankshaft.

A company I worked for had one for corp entertainment. Great for swimmers but we found through helm error it would often need impeller maintenance due to sucking in debris from the under-craft inlet. Avoidable but very easy to do and the impeller super sensitive to any defects.

Hi James ...another great tour brilliantly presented.
Yes as others have commented the sound was weird...there was one bit in the middle where the Rode Wireless Go was working but all the rest of the vid (including the pass the mic bit) was being recorded by the camera/phone ...you could tell because you got louder the nearer the camera man got to you and all the wind noise etc.
I had a Rode Wireless Go and loved it but recently it developed a fault so I bought a "DJI mic" ...they are brill and would be ideal for you.
They come as a set of 2 mics and are smaller that the Rode mic and can also mount magnetically... the carrying case is the charging case with its own built in battery so they are always charged ...you can also attach one to your guest to save you passing the mic
Another great feature is that each mic has its own built in memory that you can record to so even if you lose signal between the transmitter (mic) and receiver (on the camera) you have this as a back up.
They aint cheap (there are few similar copies but not sure on their quality) but I think are worth it ...btw I have nothing to do with DJI ...am just just a joe public customer
Keep up the great vids...I really enjoy sitting down with a coffee and watching yours and Aquaholic's while dreaming of a lottery win. :)

I do believe that the i/o stearn drive units tend to be a little more efficient than the jet pumps.

Another informative tour james, although the microphone needs to be upgraded so we can hear you! This is an absolute flying machine with those two Rotax water jet drives and an abundance of extras as standard.

I have a jet boat. I like it, but one thing. Jets are hard to work on and $$ to replace impellers. You would think they are good in the shallow, but that is not so. They are horrible in shallow, as they are a vacuum cleaner and suck up sand and gravel and ding your impeller. For that reason, I would stick with more conventional outboards.

Yes good point ! Unless you want to hoover the sea bed 😍

Exactly same issue. Much cheaper to remediate a traditional prop. That vacuum under the boat was our nemesis 🥶

James, you seemed to have a little less enthusiasm on this video? May be the British August weather didn't help, or perhaps a Florida hangover 😅 Thought the boat looked really good and nice spec. It didn't pass the floss test 😂 but good you could fit in there! Liked the Bay watch pic! All good 👍

Scarab; a blast from the past alright. Love the socks, dont wear them if there's lightning about. You never know what year you might find yourself.😂 As for the shoes, goes with dogs. He likes you is all it is. We have a Maltese, He's eaten three pairs of the wife's 'Fit Flops' with all the tassley bits. Make's for some interesting poo I must add. He's had a couple of pairs of my slippers and a pair of my summer Moses Boots aka, Sandals. He's hilarious watching him slink off with a size 10 shoe in his mouth. He only weighs 6 lbs.
Did you manage to sell any of those guys a new Kwik a saki 70 knot jet ski?

Nice to see you, I thought you looked a bit different, but was thinking you had lost weight not put it on 😀😃😄 Maybe its the glasses or the shorter hair style. Anyway, quite like the boat, does it have biminis or canapés, I'm thinking either too hot or too cold weather and the possibility it could be a great chase boat for a motor yacht. Nick had a good one recently also but I cant remember what it was.

I’m sorry but using the inflatable life jacket with clothes on and without a crotch strop is actually a death trap. And you sir should set a good example by wearing a life jacket. Nice boat tho and I appreciate your channel
