We have alot here on north texas this year. Seems like bad Aoril storm brought a bunch of them. Would love to offer nesting boxes for them. Does anyone know the size or plans?
My box is built with 11" wide boards so the floor space is about 110 square inches. The door hole is about 4" tall and 5" wide. The bottom of door hole is about 12" from the floor. The newly hatched baby ducks need something to climb so the can get out of the box as they can't jump the entire 12" in one go. I found similar dimensioned box plans online by searching for "Black-bellied Whistling Duck Nest Box Plans". The bottom of my box is only 7 feet off the ground which makes maintenance safer. I build all my boxes with a latching hinged floor for easy clean out.
