Found out I'm at least part Huichol, we found a very old photo of my grandmother Guadalupe and her family, her mother in traditional Huichol clothes, she looked like she didn't want her picture taken, too busy haha. I wonder if my Huichol blood is why I always feel strong connection to the dream world, a lucid dreamer.
Power in everything this songs. The rattles. The drum, the voice. Sadly I do not know what she is singing but something ancient deep down inside my brain connects with he words.
I met the late Huichol woman shaman, Guadaelupe De La Cruz Rios, here in Victoria years ago; she blessed me with Huichol feather wand...Thank you Guadelalupe! :)
+Rose Gordon, in my life too... i was blessed to work with her in Taos in the 90's... after attending my first ceremony, i asked her if i could be her student... in her inimitable clarity, she said... "We'll see."... she was open, and it really depended on me... i was prospering at the time, and loved giving her donations of money, and especially body work when she asked for it... i love you forever, beautiful Abuela Lupe
@@espanadulcineadeltoboso6622 yes, Lupe's apprentice Nona Wesley knew I did bodywork and asked me one day if I would work on Lupe's shoulders and back, as she was being attacked by a jealous shaman in her home town of Nayarit, and carrying lots of negative energy... of course, I said yes, although touching the body of a saintly person always carries some apprehension with it... I was blessed to be the cook and personal servant of my Vaishnava spiritual master from India, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad, and my service for Him included daily bodywork... He said it was one of the things, along with a morning walk at dawn and Ayurvedic medicine, that kept Him healthy... He was in His mid-70's, and still traveled all over the world to teach and open Krishna temples... when I first met Guadalupe, I was surprised at how she looked so much like Him... one night I brought a Deity of Lord Nrsimhadeva, the half lion half human incarnation of Krishna to one of Guadalupe's ceremonies in Taos and put it on the earthen altar next to the firepit... the next morning, after greeting the Sun and ending the ceremony, usually the people who had been there would come ask questions, or Lupe would tell people what she saw for them during the night... this time, she ignored everyone and asked... "Who brought this statue?" I told her I did, and she said... "All night there were rays of light coming down from heaven onto this statue... who is it?" I told her the whole story about how Lord Nrsimhadeva had appeared millions of years ago to protect a great devotee named Prahlad, who was 5 years old at the time, and whose father, Hiranyakasipu, was a very powerful demon who controlled not only the earth planet, but this entire part of the solar system... I told her how he tried over and over to kill Prahlad, but each time, somehow he would be saved, and in the end, Lord Nrsimhadeva appeared out of one of the pillars of the demon's palace and at first batted him around like a cat plays with a mouse before killing it, then killed the seemingly undefeatable demon... the story took 20 minutes, and all through it, Lupe was totally locked in, and would occasionally call out... "Ay Caramba!"... it was a beautiful example of the unity of all true spiritual paths, just as Lupe and Srila Prabhupad were beautiful examples of pure devotees of the one true God...

Natives don't even have a word for shaman. Take that pagan crap on somewhere.
@@SmashinAdams Marakame roughly translates as singing shaman. Definitely isn’t a stretch to say Guadalupe was a shaman
thank you for recording this...she was, and remains, awonderful presence in my life
