I love the philosophy of moving forward with the process, not letting your perfectionism get in the way.
I always say, it's good to grind XP.

As someone who only does basic panel lines, these sort of videos are exactly the kind of intermediate steps I’d like to learn, and hearing your thought process while interpreting the instructions and how you adjusted along the way was incredibly informative. Thank you!

Very nice, I just started to dab into the custom realm of gunpla and recently started to hand paint my gunpla and these videos have been very helpful.

Projects like this are very encouraging for beginners like me 🙂 seeing as not everything has to be done with the most expensive and tricky to learn tools

man really cool process, for a second it also gives the effect that it's like a Geloog made out of cement, which I thought was also neat. i also really like the sentiment at the end, you don't have to do the "proper" or "pro" way all the time, sometimes doing the alternative method is the way to go. this really helps cause as a guy getting back into the hobby it just feels like i'll never get as good, or really my circumstances don't allow me to have all the equipment i'd need to do all the cool customs, but i can still do something on my own.

Totally agree on keeping it built for visualization in concept, especially for "permission granted" style of engaged modeling where you're imagining your kit in a context and bringing that story to life. The only way I like modeling personally haha, I enjoy the freedom.

im terrified to try painting. very cool hearing your thoughts/notes as you went through this. Makes it seem less scary and nice to understand you really have to learn as you go with any new project. 👍 👍

You’ll like it even if you mess up! I ended up hand painting one without primer in NAM jungle camo and now I CAN’T not paint them.

Imagine the laws of shading, the radiant ones paints on snow while the shadows for faded default armor slight underneath. The snowy covered bazooka looks just right on visually.

Some hobby acrylic paint lines like AMMO by Mig make a washable white color that's meant precisely to simulate the white field camo and can be reactivated with water

  • @dust_bin_gaming7319
    @dust_bin_gaming7319 Рік тому +1

Whitewash camo is supposed to be thin, so I think the product is fine for how it's supposed to be used. (I don't think the Mook did 100%) But, the method you ended up going with still looks good in the end. A bit more intentional and prepped ahead of time, than slapped on in the field, but still good! ^_^
And that's a good point of keeping the kit together for stuff like this. Make it a *lot* easier to tie all the pieces together, rather than end up having mismatching camo, dirt, damage patterns that just don't line up right! ^_^
Also, I saved the leftover sheet sticker sheet for the Psycho Frame off my Hi-v Ver.Ka.(maybe a year ago now) for this same sort of thing! Works better than most 'chrome' paints as a backing for lenses and the like!

from a warhammer hobbyist perspective its very interesting to remember how little hand painting goes on on this side the hobbying field. Everyone here says airbrush this airbrush that, i only got an airbrush specifically because hand painting white armor is extremely difficult. in many cases it ends up with some very rough textures as this piece did, which aren't always desirable, aswell as taking significantly longer to get good consistent coverage even thinned correctly to not block up detail. reminds me i need to finish painting my Geara Doga, poor lads only half painted still.

I used mr weathering color to put a filter onto a model, mine is just as thin as yours.
Who knows how many coats they used in the photos from the book, or they might have let the thinner evaporate before using the paint.

Hi Zaku, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but do you know of any kits that don’t have stickers. I know the Moon Gundam doesn’t have any and I’m looking for more kits that follow that.
    Absolutely hate stickers 😅
