Too bad about the lap steel. Yes, it is very hard, even for someone who HAS the use of their limbs! Well, you don't have to play past the seventh fret if you want to play in all keys. The fifth fret will give you most keys. If you can hang with just G-B-D-G-B-D (thick to thin) ignore some of the more esoteric tunings, You might try gluing a piece of leather or something to the back of the slide to mute the strings. Well mate - gotta tell ya I'm learning a lot from all these posts.. I like the licks you put down the most because it's more my style , nice and dirty :) Never got into slide but I'm loving it now! Have a ways to go before I find my groove and put my brand on it but it won't take long... I was just fading away by letting my hand stop me from playing. Thank God he gave me the talent and a new drive to want it back! I'm even feeling frisky again and that finally got the wife to leave after all these years LOL Speaking of which, I went to a neighbors today to have him sharpen my axe and his sheep told on him.... When we walked by the sheep pin a lot of them started saying d-a-a-a-addy! He kicked the pin and said "shut up! You're gonna get me in trouble! :) Thanks again for posting even if it was 5 years ago. When I grow up I wanna be just like him... Every post on here helps me figure out how to play this thing and like you, with 50+ years of playing it's easier than I thought it would be... Shoot, I might even go find a little band to sit in with from time to time :) I have a friend with a bunch of old farts still playing and I'm sure they'll let me jam on a tune or 2....... :) I do miss the glory days when I played, got paid & laid.... Later
Could you pls tell me the brand name of the lap u demonstrated ? i look them up sometime ago and can't find them....made in The UK but the name??? tx Bulzrocker
its a bennett six string lapsteel made here in scotland i think ,actually my wifes i only started tinkering on it a few years ago , i mainly play guitar ,rock blues gary moore and the like hope that helps cheers 🎸🎸🎸
Good video, thanks for the idea. I have a lap tuned to c6, I guess I should re-tune it for rock once in a while. For those viewers extolling the great tone from a small whisky bottle, have fun, but if you want more sustain and tone nothing beats solid steel or brass. Try it. Its why they call them Lap Steels. :)
You may not have much experience playing one, but you CAN play the shyt out of it! I've played guitar for 46 years (and boy, are my fingers tired...) and just recently bought a PowerSlide because of left hand problems, hoping to extend my non-existent musical career. Have a ways to go before I find my groove and put my brand on it but it won't take long... I was just fading away by letting my hand stop me from playing. Thank God he gave me the talent and a new drive to want it back! I'm even feeling frisky again and that finally got the wife to leave after all these years LOL
Speaking of which, I went to a neighbors today to have him sharpen my axe and his sheep told on him.... When we walked by the sheep pin a lot of them started saying d-a-a-a-addy! He kicked the pin and said "shut up! You're gonna get me in trouble! :) Thanks again for posting even if it was 5 years ago. This shit will never get old brother :)
thanks mate ,daddy lol ,,tell tale bitches lol but seriously i lost my mojo after my bypass and it took months to get it back 2 years ago ,the lapsteels actually my wifes she wanted it but didn't play it much so i started timkering on it ,playing guitar for 34 years helped pick it up ,,i usually play rock blues i.e gary moore ,hope you get to where you wanna be with your playin mate ,,im not really a lapsteel player i just muck about on it wish i knew more ,all the best mate 🎸🎸🎸
Back at ya :) I love "Govt Mule" and the style they play.. Just became a fan of the guy on here (to the right of this post) Nelly - Kicking Screaming Slide Guitar...... That dude has it going on! Later
Very authentic whiskey slideblues. Great Stuff!
thanks again mate i lost my slide then lost this bottle im now using whisky shot glass lol
Haha, I'm curious what you're playing next. I have already played with a smartphone slide(-; , then I would prefer to use my mudslide again
never thought of a phone ,hmmm lol tried the cat but it scratches too much lol
Love it....so intentional of a tough sound.
many thanks mate thanks for watchin and commenting ,,appreciated 🎸🎸🎸
I have a notion to second that emotion ! His talent blows me away ! :-)
INfusion music! Drink it and absorb the blues into your blood. Best of both worlds.
The whisky's well drunk lol cheers mate greetings from scotland

Eduardo Chantos thanks mate ,,appreciated ,,thanks for watchin and commentin ,,all the best brian 🎸
Eduardo Chantos you may like this online collaboration i did ai with youtube friend ua-cam.com/video/kspcvZ8RA0o/v-deo.html
"I am a novice"... Come on Brian, you're a damn good player!
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe ! He's truly a "Sultan of the Strings" ! :-)
Seen Curtis Lowe do that acoustic many years ago, ;)
Quality comment.
YESSSSSSSS LOVING THISSSS!!!!!! PLAY THAT SONG!
Cheers and greetings from scotland
Is that a miniature bottle of "Grants whisky"? I prefer a 12 year old "Single Malt" myself but any port in a storm eh
well spotted lol ,,maybe i should try different makes ,,just for tone puposes ,,honestly lol thanks for watchin
You may not have much experience playing one, but you CAN play the shyt out of it! I've played guitar for 46 years (and boy, are my fingers tired...) and just recently bought a PowerSlide because of left hand problems, hoping to extend my non-existent musical career. I want to play like this. Thanks for the inspiration.
Many thanks mate appreciated
❤
sounds great man, love your style of playing slide blues guitar.
thanks mate ,,appreciated

+briansguitarstudio You're welcome Brian ! Fair praise where it's due and you say your're a novice ? ? ? No way Dude !
Love it! still trying to get the right sound for my blues playing.. what is your set up? pedals and amp pretty please!
Mikey Hearrold thanks mate ,,my pedal is a boss me25 multi effects unit ,theres no amp involved as i record directly from the boss into my camera a kodak playtouch via a 3.5 mm jack ,no computer programme involved ,all my vids are one take mistakes and all lol thanks for watchin and commenting cheers 🎸🎸🎸
Man that sounds great. "AWESOME"
William Cross thanks mate ,,appreciated
Amen to that !!
Hey dude, are you using any effects; sounds like you have a little delay; sounds great from one slide player to another. I have a 12 string lap slide I had altered. It's awesome; I'd like to mic it through a 5 band eq.
+Toby Blake thanks mate yep im usin a little delay ,reverb ,chorus , i dont know much about lapsteel as i only play it an odd time ,12 strings would be confusing for me lol ,,i dont mike mine up i record out of my boss me25 straight into my camera via a 3.5mm jack lead ,,thanks for watchin and commenting cheers 🎸🎸🎸
This is great Brian , I just got a lapsteel . Can you tell me What tunning are you playing? Thanks .

sick godlike licks, man!!!!

+Matthew Dever no problem mate i know the feeling ,i regard myself as a novice ,learner ,as guitars my main thing ,theres no pedal just a plectrum and a solid steel slide 🎸🎸
