Here's a look at a few ways I use my TEG stove Fan o keep my house warm, and to circulate air. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
If you were to drill a few hole in the “lid” of your guard you might get the fans moving more due to the hot air being able to escape upwards. All the best. Rab
Thanks for sharing your expertise! Very much appreciated by 73 year old veteran that refuses to be held hostage by electrical providers!
For years we have wondered what to use to heat the pump house if the power went out. We came up with the oil lamp but doing this would be even better. Thanks for the idea.
Thank you so much for sharing this great video...
Ingenious...
Absolutely brilliant
Electrical wires with heat rated Teflon insulation, would have been a better choice in the product's original design. Hot video. 🔥⚡🔥
I would simply wrap the wires with foil to give them an added amount of protection from the heat of the Mr. Buddy heater.
That's actually what I did. I also don't use it on "high" anymore.
You can always add a aluminum heat shield with some self tapping screws just below the wires.
I just wrapped the wires in foil.
Add cookie sheet.
Great ideal
It will only melt if you use it on the Big Buddy heater on high because the fan isnt meant to go over a certain temp.
Nice clip. Have you run the fan on the high setting? The reason is that, I bought another type from Amazon Australia, around $150, but after two days stopped working, I have the same Mr heater but in Australia they sell at one setting which is 9000 BTU, so I think at 450-500 c the temperature I measured, it got burned out. I can't lower the setting of the Mr heater, so do you know if any of these fan can operate at 450-500 c without stopping? I know many of these fan stop working, would appreciate if you can share some other types or more info on what to purchase. Thanks
Those fans are designed to sit on top of cast iron wood stoves, they had better be able to stand the heat from those stoves, since wood stoves dont come with knobs with which to turn them down, USE YOUR COMMON SENSE PEOPLE
Easy fix if you are working with a different stove material. There are heat resistant spacer for bottom plate at , welding shop store, or mechanic / auto or buy the fans that strap to a pipe of the stove.
I saw something like this working as a solar oven.
I bought this fan, it seems better made than others I have purchased, I am going to try high heat motor harness tape to protect the wires ?, I didn't pay $100
I covered the wires with aluminum foil, and I only use the heater on LO when I use the fan on it.
I said before in one of your vid a wood burning stove wood keep a fish tank warm if there was power outage
We use a coal stove for our home during the winter months, here in PA. Keeps everything very warm.
@@davidsamsell2031 awesome I live out west now but my dad lives in western pa . He has one it works great and he uses the wood right off his property
So what is the brand name of fan unit is that?
I guess u could wrap some heat tape or foil around the wires?
The one I got is CRSure or something like that. I wrapped aluminum foil around the wires and only use it on Lo.
I wish my office had a washer and drier instead of just the sh1tter.
If it's meant to sit on top of a wood/coal stove, I would have to believe that the wires used in the fan unit are heat resistant.
What's the brand name of the fan
CRSURE Wood Stove Fan, 8 Blades Double Motors: amzn.to/33Wv52g
How do you put up with that burning oil smell?
It's propane not oil
@@jamisonsdad1963 bet they are asking about the lamp. There are low smoke and non scented and other kinds of lamp oil. Great ideals and when the power goes out everyone not prepared comes to UA-cam fore heating and light ideals.
This first fan is not available on amazon.
That is where I bought mine .
Why does the fan have wiring? I thought they run from the heat?
The difference in temperature causes electrons to flow.
It’s actually a circuit that is powered by the difference in heat in separate parts. It’s very clever.
What color are your nails? Purple....
It depends on what color I paint it. I think it was dark blue or purple in this video.
Is that purple nail polish on your thumbnail? Hmmmm???
It's nail polish (look up "polished man")
Over 1/3 of the amazon ratings are 39% less than 5 star.
Buddy heaters are ok if you can get and afford 1,000 gallons of propane a season.
How does it work on LOW?
About 5 hours I think. I only use it for short periods to take the chill off. No more than a couple hours at a time, so I'm not 100% sure about the run time.
@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly If you read the literature on the heater, it tells you how long it lasts per fillup (bottles) on both high and low.
One can burn through a 20 pound bottle of propane in 3-4 days if used on high.
20 weeks of cold weather @ 40 pounds a week is about 800 pounds of propane a season (roughly 1,000 gallons).
It can help in certain cases for temporary heating, especially small spaces.
But to heat a living room for a family it is quite expensive.
Always good to have a backup heat source and MANY extra bottles of propane.
Nearly every house made has 1/10th the insulation needed to make heating and cooling economical.
A rocket mass heater might be a better option.
if it's hot enough to burn your hand at the back of the fan where the wires are, that means the fan isn't moving a lot of air as you claimed. Certainly not like a tornado...lol.
What's up with the purple fingernail ?
look up "polished man"
Observation: Stove fans on a Mr.Buddy are wasteful. I use my Craftsman or Makita battery fans. Those are versatile. Use them anywhere. Also for cooling yourself.
These fan reviews tell me the O.P. isn't a handy man. No tools. Likes potpouri. Falls for Harry's ads and mansquatch soap.
They sell metal flex conduit if i was that worried about melting wire's id buy a couple feet of it and be done with it
