Wauw I never thought about putting gel before the cream. I find that most gels when used alone makes my fine 3c/4a hair look very stringy and thin. I really dislike how it dries then as it takes a while to dry. But I will try this out if the new hair cream I bought doesn't really work. But it would be great if this method would define my curls and would make them clump together more. Just as when Washing my hair.
I have hair similar to yours and I co-wash and apply leave in conditioner. I even sleep with a bonnet and somehow my hair only last a good day then it becomes frizzy and in an Afro. How can I keep my hair moisturized and have my curls "fall" like yours? Btw I use Cantu leave in and shea moisture curling cream

how do u know if a gel will work for u B4 u buy it??? I need help..... ecostyler good but it doesn't clump my curls together good....and I've tried the Shae moisture soufle and it was trash for me so yeah....
before I purchase a gel I will open it in the store & do a strand test on like a frizzy curl, idrc. if it feels like I put nothing but water on my hair when the strand dries & its still frizzy, I know it won't do anything at all for me. if the curl is defined then I purchase it. fwiw, I always get strong/firm hold gels

Yooo I need some help bro. I have naturally curly hair too and is really long and I failed to moisturize as much as I should've as it grew it out. It's starting to dread and a bunch of the curls in the back have knotted. Should I trim my hair and pick it out to start over or should I cut it💀
Exclusive Taage depends on how "locked" your hair is, if you can't separate the hair using your fingers to detangle it, it's prolly best to just get it cut at where your hair started to lock and begin a hair routine for your newer hair that hasn't been cut so it can grow back healthy and hydrated; you can try to use a wide tooth comb to try and take the knots out but it will be very tedious, painful, and damaging as it will be causing a lot of breakage since the hair is knotted.
does anyone know if he mixed both products in his hands or if he put them in his hair at different times. If so, what is the order?
Well if he is from America chances are he's multiracial. Most african american are. Also there are full blooded africans in Africa with bone straight hair. So hair isn't a tell tale sign someone is mixed or not. He used both hands to put it in a large section then in smaller sections he shingled the product.

I think we have the same exact hair type. I have an Afro now, it's about 4 inches long, I don't have any shaved parts. What I'm wondering is how my hair will "fall" once it's that length. Like will I still be able to wear my Afro, or is it going to be floppy lol.
you will have bangs, it's cool to show off sometimes, but otherwise it can be annoying if the fro look is what you're going for (me 90% of the time). however if you keep your ends trimmed & dont go so heavy on products you can avoid a little of the droopy bangs
kxdsheldy Well, I don't plan on wearing it curly at that point anyway. I'm just gonna pick it out or start wearing braids.

How do I combat frizz & shrinkage?
My hair will be curly, bouncy and somewhat long...but after about 2hrs...it's frizzy, all over the place and super short (currently at 4-4.5in)

King._. De that's not how hair typing works, hair typing is only about curl size and look, his hair falls in 4a/3c category . Different people need different amounts of product depending on their porosity and hair density not curl type.

I used 2 products. & for one routine I used just water. I think I know about the hair that grows out of my own scalp, the hair that I touch & feel on a day to day basis more than someone that observes behind a screen
