But if you do it in mathematics everything has explanations until we reachvery intuitive axioms like "Because if A implies B, and if we now A is true, then B must also be true".
Actually, having graduated with a humanities degree, I can say that they (some of them) do SAY this, but they want you to "question" what they say in a very specific way, which makes their idea of "free thought" extremely rhetorical. "rhetorical" in the sense that they ask a question and already know what answer they will accept. But not all of them are like that. Some of them actually do want you to question them. But they don't approach the subject in such a grandiose, pretentious way.

We stem people like to make fun of the humanities alot. But the fact still remains that they are immensely important.
