There is not a way currently in Final Draft 13 to do this that I can find. You can switch to index card view and print out the index card of that scene. However there is a more convoluted way that might work. To copy a scene summary into the scene in the script Select the scene from which the summary is to be copied. More than one scene may be copied; Right-click or Control + click on one of the cards and from the context menu choose Document > Send to Script; Go to Insert > Send to Script; On the keyboard press Command + Shift + C. The summary text for each selected scene becomes an action element after that scene’s scene heading. If there is already content in the scene, the summary information will be added as an action element at the end of the scene. You can delete the other stuff off this page, which is not the scene and summary, of your script and then print out that page of your script. Let me know if that works. Again it is convoluted. Personally I wonder if printing off the index card view would be more what you are looking for.
I would disagree on that assumption. Maybe this is their first piece of software, you can't assume that they know how to write and how to pull up the things they want. Beat board and the outline would be the next steps in learning how to use final draft, not the first.
@@aquilasaviourmoses5320 Try this and let me know if this works. The program is in Reader Mode and needs to be activated. Go to Help > Activate and enter your Final Draft Customer Number (note that it cannot be a Trial number, which starts with KFDT / EFDT / XFDT). Click Activate and once the activation is complete, all program functions will be enabled.
There was a feature which was easily accessible to me in FInal Draft 8 - and that was changing the text colour (With big T) and Fill Colour - right up there in the main head bar - now in Final Draft 13 I do not know how to get it up there - visible - and accessible - so that I do not have to go through FORMAT and selecting FONT to change the colour of the text or a filling a particular selected text with a colour - Can lyou tell me how to do it in FD 13?
Right click on the toolbar and that will show you all the things you can add to the toolbar. Unfortunately, the only thing having to do with colors that I think you can add is highlighter. Give it a look see to make sure I didn't miss it. Otherwise you have to use the menus.
Take the time to select what you want in the toolbar and the screen views etc...and set them up the way you want. Save all the changes as a template and slowly get into using FD the way that suites you, not the other way around. It is only a tool after all, you are the artist.
Warning 'Final Draft' is prone to crashing. I just lost a day and a half worth of creative dialogue on screenplay, do to a final draft crash. I can never replicate what was lost cause was in that 'zone', that writing zone, and final draft crash lost it all forever. This issue needs to be resolved...how can I trust final draft going forward with my work, when system just crashes and you lose days of writing.
I am so sorry to hear that. That is totally frustrating! Are you using the PC version or the Mac version? So it doesn't pick up from your last auto save? This is what I was hoping they would have addressed with version 13
@@ScreenwritingScribe Actually, the technicians at final draft 13 actually helped me... I had no idea that final draft 13 saves your work, like every 15 seconds or minutes?... So, if lose work in a crash, simply go to 'tools', and then hit the 'options' tab, and there you can find your saved work that you thought was lost forever. More people need to know about this resolution or resolve. Final Draft does indeed have your back...lol
@@FilmSchool-om3ew I am glad you got it back! Yea! I am even happier that they responded to you. Unfortunately for a lot of people they don't always get back to them fast. I will make a short this week about this, so that other know how to get their work back. So happy you got your stuff back!
After each 30 Minutes of writing: Ctrl/A - Ctrl/C - go to another TextEditor (like SublimeText) - Ctrl/V - Save to USB-Stick - Problem solved in 30 Seconds
Here is what I found. The correct way to change the font of a script is at the Element level: Go to Format > Elements (Mac) or Format > Elements Settings (Windows) and click on the Font tab; Click Set Font; In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK; Click Apply Font/Size to All Elements; Click OK to get back to your script. The body of your script will now be in the font you chose. Next, you'll need to do the Page Numbers and the Mores and Continueds: With the script still open, go to Document > Header and Footer; On your keyboard, press Control+A (Win) or triple-click (Mac) to select everything underneath the ruler bar; Go to Format > Font from the top menu bar; Windows: In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK; Mac: Go to Format Font and select the font; In the Header and Footer box, click OK to get back to your script; Go to Document > Mores and Continueds and click on the Set Font button at the bottom of the window; Windows: In the Font box at the upper left, select the font you want and click OK; Mac: Go to Format Font and select the font. Next, you will need to correct any text whose font was changed if you highlighted it and went to Format Font: Go to Edit > Select All; Go to Format > Font and choose the correct font; OK your way back to the script. Let me know if that solves your problem. I will also try to do a video about it.
Got 13, they had such a sweet upgrade deal that it was hard to pass up. I don't like the final draft account thing, but I do like the other stuff.
I have to say they have been really generous with the upgrade price more so than normal. They have been running a lot of deals. Happy Writing!
