FYI: The 9X8 is confirmed to be getting a huge change for the 2024 season which has confirmed it will now have a rear wing, still good to see them sticking with WEC and continuing to race even with what has proven to be a lost cause of a project. Glad I got to see the wingless 9X8 race in period.
@@xnotasweatx yeah you need a minimum ground effect on LMH and LMDH. 9X8 will have a rear wing to not compromised stability on straight line or on tricky track like Sebring . Peugeot' engineers will work with Dassault (Rafale, Mirage 2000...) to improve the aero !
Yes, as you only need the only regulaition surrounding aero is maximum downforce and minimum drag. Its only a small wing from what weve seen, so its main use will be most likley as the adjustable element@@xnotasweatx
you guys might've noticed I missed the not that competitive WR Peugeot LMP, unfortunately only so much time in a day and I wanted to get this out the door for you guys.
Peugeot deserve our support simply for the fact that they have the courage to try something different. Okay so the 9x8 hasn't been successful for reasons I'm sure you all know, but it's new version deserves success.
You should have added that the *only* reason the Peugeot WM P88 still holds the fastest speed at Le Mans is because of the addition of the two chicanes on the Mulsanne Straight.
i grew up in Australia in the 1960,s,, i as a kid thought french cars were for old men with mustaches, checked coats and brown shoes. in the mid 1980,s le mans was on tv in Australia and i thought i was hearing things when the guy on the tv said the peugeot was winning the race.. it took me 15 years to find they made fine cars and today i still drive my 3rd 505gti 2.2 station wagon and its slow and thrilling. wow,, we live and learn,, its as exciting to be the slowest car off the lights as it is to drive my 383ci camaro at the local drag strip.
The 908 is the most beautiful LMP1 car, and the 9X8 is also so far the best looking Hypercar (altho not by far, competition is real there). Can't wait to see the EVO version of the 9X8 next year !
IMO it’s the speed 8 EXP, but the 908 is definitely my favorite. I like how they trampled Audi and the diesel era was more special than I think people give it credit for.
@@yorm1 What made this part special is how tame it was before, with only Pescarolo as a challenger. It made everything more than single oem very exciting. When we had a 3 way battle with Porsche Toyota and Audi it was the most exciting Le Mans i have ever been to since my first one in 1999. And look at us now... Almost a dozen first class players battling. What a time to be an enduro fan.
will no not yet they have only realized there dream three times and thank god they haven't experience tragedy like Mercedes in 1955. for those of You who don't known what i'm talking about in 1955 le mans was dubbed WW2 on the track Jaguar and Mercedes two WW2 war horses go head too head with disasters consequences. Peugeot indirectly admitting the wingless design 9X8 failed

The reason I follow this channel is for its more artistic portrayal of Motorsport, while still having some substance.. didnt disappoint
Peugeot made 2 of my most favourite racecars the Peugeot 908 hdi fap and the 9x8. Can't wait to see what the 9x8 Evo will look like.
Very good video, thx. I was born near Sochaux so I have always believed in Peugeot and also in its future in endurance
Nice. I became a Peugeot fan after the original 908. I’m not French but I think it’s important to have a French manufacturer in endurance racing

The design of the 905 is something else... timeless

Legends? Are you kidding? We’re talking about a make that has La Sarthe as it’s home ground. And still the Germans go 1940 on their asses.
