I'm a Chelsea fan and I wouldn't want Lampard anywhere near England as much as I admire him as a Chelsea legend. Good players don't necessarily mean good manager.
you ain't no Chelsea fan
@@MrWickHaHaBobayega 56 yrs mate. I bet before you were born. Bonetti, McCreadie, Dempsey, Harris , Webb, Hollins, Cooke (my favourite), Houseman, Hutchinson, Baldwin and my second favourite the King of Stamford Bridge Peter Osgood 💙. 1970 FA Cup side 😂
Absolutely. What's this ossession to appoint guys who've only just got their coaching badges to manage big profile clubs. Learn your trade in a lower division and prove your worth first.
International management is totally different from club management, I think Frank might be a good fit. Conversely, England have gone the top club manager route and done nothing in the past.
@@MrWickHaHaBobayegawhy his bang on ?
The fact that Lineker thinks Lampard is a good candidate for the england job based on a few minutes of his tactical analysis on the bbc says everything u need to know about our low standards and losers mentality
No it just says everything about how Lineker is a total moron.
he'd be a great choice, he's won everything at club level & he has a winning mentality
@@imobjectivelybalancedonTHEball please tell me you're Scottish
Absolutely @alexblake5263 even legendary players do not automatically make great managers… at this rate Lineker will be suggesting Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville as England manager
Says a lot about the insights of Gary Lineker too. Nobody should ask for his opinion on anything football related. He's possibly an even worse pundit than Micheal "captain obvious" Owen and Alan "change my mind twice a game" Shearer. Terrible pundits at the BBC.
Blimey I’d rather keep Southgate and I don’t say that lightly, Lampard is a dreadful manager.
Southgate is already the most successful England manager in history. So you would rather have a lesser manager I guess?
It’s an insult media darlings like Lampard get linked with these top jobs. Lampard will not be a good manager until he’s humble enough to start at his level and work up. Rooney gets a lot of stick but at least he’s going to lower Championship rather than waiting for an undeserved job above his level.
Southgate was sacked from Boro
Rooney is punching above his level, absolutely sucks as a manager
Rooney took John eustaces manager job while they were 6th in the championship and after 15 games took the to 20th before getting sacked
Birmingham are now a league 1 side because of him, I wouldn’t want a manager that would take the job from someone who’s doing well like that
Fair I agree with that but if we’re honest, Plymouth are a much smaller club than Birmingham regardless of league positions. He has a bit of credit in the bank from Derby in the circumstances and he deserves a chance at Plymouth’s level with a pre season behind him. But if he fails at Plymouth then difficult to come back from. Lampard on the other hand has underachieved throughout and has not taken accountability like Rooney has which is why it’s insulting that Lampard is waiting for a top job with no merit to do so.
Mans nearly destroyed every club hes managed
it's different at international level & we just need somebody with a winning mentality
REALLY !?
Mans can't manage da ting brev 😂
firstly I agree that FL shouldn't be England manager, but that comment is wrong. derby was fucked by their owner, lampard nearly got them promoted. at chelsea, first season he got top 4 under a transfer embargo and best player left in the summer, also in the fa cup final. second season was a failure ultimately why he got the sack and tuchel took charge. everton, well that clubs been run down by thier owners hence why thier trying to sell the club, plus he saved them in the first season.
the second stint at Chelsea, included 40 players that half of them didnt want to be there , Todd boehly acting as sporting director and potter previously messed up everything.
@joshhamer5076 He broke FFP by blowing all his money on PL loans just to barely scrape the playoffs by 1 point. At the end of that season they had no players left because of the loans and couldn't buy any either.
Chelski speaks for itself they still havnt recovered from the mess he left them in.
And at Everton if u look back on it it's the points that rafa got that kept them up. It's all just revisionist history from people who liked him as a player.
So much nepotism and favouritism in English football and Lineker is one of the worst offenders with his recommendations.
Awful manager would be the worst decision ever!!
Totally. It’s the sort of appointment you’d expect to hear cousin Jamie to be pushing for on Sky. Based on his managerial CV, I can’t see on which planet anyone would even shortlist him as a potential future England manager.
Ever seen the CV of Southgate?

Potter has turned down about 5 jobs in the prem and abroad. It’s obvious he’s next. He’s the perfect yes man Southgate replacement for the FA.
I agree
I assumed Cooper would be next as he's already had success with a lot of them when they were kids so is already an f.a man.
Potter is a very underrated coach, would be a smart appointment.
FA will go for Warnock obviously
Potter creates a lot of chances. Imagine kane and jude on the end of those
Just here to say turning the comments off on the Greenwood video was pathetic. He’s not a ‘boy’ he as of an age to know what he was doing g was wrong. Her dropping the charges gives him a chance to play again. IMO he doesn’t deserve one, some may think different but the narrative that he is in some a victim is ridiculous. Giving him protection from comments is cowardly.
IMO you only know what you have been fed by the media. If you are close to the two individuals involved and are 100% sure what went off then you can claim he doesn't deserve a chance. I have yet to hear from the "victim" or seen signs of her encouraging young women coming forward if facing "abuse".

Is it possible for the FA to employ someone who has actually won something as a manager? Regardless of nationality.
You would think it would be a given, wouldn't you? The fact that your suggestion is radical tells us everything we need to know about the FA.
Surely England never be that desperate for a manager that they would hire Lampard
Presumably he thinks that because of Frank's wonderful managerial track record?
He has a much better track record in club football than Gareth Southgate. Got a bunch of kids into the Champions League and laid the foundation for Chelsea to win the Champions League. England could do better than Frank but he’s not a downgrade on Southgate

Gary Neville’s managerial record is better!
Pep Guardiola has said he’d like a shot at international football and he has stated that he wouldn’t take the Spanish job if it was offered to him and his family are settled in England so it’s a no brainer for him not to take the position of England manager. I think the employment of Capello and Eriksen have shown that elite managers aren't necessarily the best fit for England manager. Southgate has doubly proved that.
I do not think there is an outstanding candidate to be the next England Manager. Eddie Howe has been suggested. Someone with a reputation for managing attacking football and flair would be great. I cannot think of one former England player who would be suitable.

Harry Rednapp should be England manager, he will.put passion into the players and set them up properly. That's all you need
Lineker is such clown
Of course Stuart Pierce is defensive of Southgate remember pizzagate
Eddie Howe might be a good shout.
England job is easy, manage the media, pick a few players and tactics. Its a very different job to being a club manager. Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick etc I'd have no issue with them. Look at how Barca pick their managers with no experience.
Satire?
I think serious questions need to be asked about the lack of managerial talent in this country
Football draws from the underclass of this country, where there is a serious lack of culture or intelligence. Hardly anyone in English football can even speak properly. Is it not obvious when you compare them to our rugby players? And what is worse is that this country actually celebrates the stupidity of football players while criticising rugby and cricket for being "elitist" as though it is a bad thing? Sums up the decline of this country in general.
It seems the only qualification to be England boss is to be an ex England player
Yeah GET HIM IN! That would be an absolute win for football.. I'd start paying attention for international football than ever 😂
Do you comment on every England video? For a guy who says he doesn't like it, you spend a lot of time watching videos about it
Football, especially English football, is the one of only two sectors in society where constant failures are constantly rewarded with more chances to keep falling upwards. The other sector being politics the last 14 years. Makes me sick.
It isn't just in England when managers get rewarded for failure or do you think that managers in other countries don't get their contracts paid off when they are relieved of their duty? I know that the Tories were useless but blimey! MP's from all parties have been rewarded for their incompetence for decades and decades, not just the last 14 years. The shower of sh!te we have in power now will be equally rewarded when they prove themselves to be just as bad as the last lot that have just been given the boot lol

Absolutely ridiculous comment by Gary, Lampard’s managerial record is poor. Being a good manager does not automatically mean that a person is going to be a successful manager.
Maybe Stuart Pearce?
I prefer an Englishman but would rather win with a foreign one than lose with an English one.
What about Xavi Hernandez, Luis Enrique or stick with Southgate for a year and then Guardiola at the end of his contract at City and pay a PREMIUM to get him?

My god he had £500 million of talent bought from around the world and did hack all .we can all talk a good game every one of us but implementing it and knowing what makes the players tick is another matter. For me English, Eddie Howe he done a fantast job at Bournemouth and a sterling job at Newcastle with very little money spent . Foreign only one pep.
Simon Jordan been bashing Southgate for years, now i only want to hear an apology from this bitter individual
Simon is spot on. England can beat the small teams but NOT the high class teams like Spain.
Linear is a complete joker so is Lampard as a manager. It’s disgusting to be honest to even utter such nonsense.
Who would you put as manager then?
Frank clearly speaks in a way that implies intelligence, but he clearly struggles to convey his ideas to players. Needs to develop this skill before touching management again
What has Lampard done to merit the England job😂Lineker showing himself up as the buffoon he really is
The likes of Southgate, Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney have all failed forward in their managerial careers. None of them are good, yet they continuously get opportunities.
Always thought Lineker was a pratt, this confirms it, Lampard has failed miserably 3 times as a manager, twice at Chelsea and at Everton
As a Chelsea fan I love frank but he just hasn’t lived up to expectations as a manager and therefore shouldn’t be in the conversation as next England manager. England needs a Mourinho type. Someone who commands instant respect and has a track record of winning cup competitions
Lampard wouldn't be my first option but they appointed Southgate😂 the bar has been set so low, anyone is an improvement
Simon cannot answer a question without doing an impression of David Brent. He cannot give a straight answer without using a million words. Talk about insecure.
If we can have a foreign manager can we not have foreign players too??
You already do 😇
Lampard would be a disaster. He has demonstrated no ability to manage. Why would we want him.
Lineker's having a laugh ! What qualification does Lampard have ? Almost as bad as Southgate in terms of ability.
Simon is 100% right.
Well this squad has gotten to another final in spite of the manager... Southgate was such a stud of a manager with his failures he ended up falling into the U21 job and then fell into the managers seat... To suggest that Lampard couldn't do the easiest job in football is absurd
suggesting lampard as the next England manager is the worst call by Lineker since 2014 when he was insisting that "nobody expects us to do well, the expectation is so low that maybe that makes us even MORE likely to succeed"... we went out in the group stage, rock bottom with one point.
England should be going hard after Klopp if they’re serious about being the best side.
What credentials has Lampard got to be next England manager. He would be worse than Southgate. Lineker, great footballer, but politically a real ars*****
Perfect candidate then!
The International managers don’t coach players narrative from Jordan. Look at the impact Bielsa has had on Uruguay.
IF GARETH WINS IT HE CAN WALK AWAY WITH HIS HELD HIGH AND HE CAN STICK TWO FINGERS UP TO THE LOT OF YOU .SIMON YOU KNOW IT ALL YOU HAVE A GO YOU ARE GREAT AT BRINGING PEOPLE DOWN
Final proof Lineker needs a padded cell . Lampard England Boss 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The frightening thing about this is Lampard is just the sort of man the FA would go for, thank the Lord that Rooney has just got a job otherwise Lineker would be recommending him.
I think Simon Jordan should be the next England Manager....
Forget lampard....get Stevie G in as the next england manager 😂😂
Given Lampards record as a club manager i just cannot see how anyone could think he could be lauded as the next England manager. First and foremost should be coaching ability. Being a yes man, like Southgate, is surely not the primary reason to employ anyone.
Needs to be a manager who's got more than just a Plan A.
In fairness Southgate had a poor managerial career before going into England. Similar to lampard so I wouldn’t be upset with the appointment. Especially if Southgate doesn’t get England over the line tomorrow.
As a proud Welshman speaking for the rest of Wales, we fully endorse Super Frank as the next England manager! 😊
What had Southgate done successfully before this job??
I think Eddie Howe would be a perfect fit, but probably won’t happen if not Graham Potter
No sober person can appoint lampard as England manager
That Sunday's Euro2024 Final is likely to be Gareth Southgate's last game in-charge of England is probably the only accurate part of that suggestion by Gary Lineker.
We need to be thinking more along the lines of an elite manager of the calibre of Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho et al.
Nice fella though Frank Lampard is.
Legendary player though he was.
He's still in the early developmental stages of his managerial career.
Although I would have no issue with him working as an U21 manager or even an Assistant Manager or Coach to an established manager who has already acheieved at the elite level.
Frank needs far more exp to take a job like that, hilarious. There is only 2 English that are candidates and it's Potter or Howe. Personally I would look to go abroad, nothing wrong with a foreign manager, especially if there is no clear quality candidates at home. I wanted Bielsa after the leeds job. Atm I wouldn't mind Poch. He's worked with some of players and knows the English game. Easier transition.
The people who think you need to be a tactical genius to win international tournaments don't watch international tournament's.
He wasn’t even any good when he played for England, let alone discussing whether he should be managing them.
I actually think he would be a good England manager and it would be the making of him. He did well at Derby and in his first stint at Chelsea - remember he got top 4 under a transfer embargo. Let's face it I'd say he's a better manager than Southgate and the last person I would listen to is Simon Jordan who hates any idea that isn't his own.
I wouldn,t put Lampard up for the England job purely based on lack of experience. But who will be the next manager ?
I cant think of any obvious appointment thats sensible and would be willing to do the job.
Kalvin phillips player manager
I agree, Lampard and Gerard were both great players but poor managers, If Lampard were to take over I would apply for a restraining order to keep him at least 200 miles away from the England team and for that matter any team
His name shouldn't even be in the discussion. Like his last two appointments, he'd be sent packing within a couple of tournaments. Get a real coach, England, it's a coveted job! And that salary!
Hell no to Lampard
Frank would be the worst England manager ever.
Arsene Wenger for England manager job or conte
