I'm new to your channel and double bass drumming. I was always intimidated with playing double kick, but with your lesson I now can't wait to try these exercises. Thank you
This is exactly what I needed! I've been playing drums for decades and only just NOW introducing double bass. So helpful and easy to understand. Thank you! Do you have any videos on how to transfer from the hi hat during a groove CLEANLY over to the double bass pedal for a quick fill?
Hi Jeff I have just discovered your lessons , you have an excellent teaching method which really engages the student (me) and explained directly and simply 👍thanks
Another great lesson, Jeff! I’ve been trying to learn a classic Vinnie Paul fill, and I have no doubt this lesson will help me (eventually) get it up to speed!
@@JeffBowders Fargin’ Hostile (so as to not get in trouble with my pastor 😀). He does a couple of 16rh-note 4/2 combinations early on, but one break, kicks it up a notch with what sounds like 16th note triplets in a 4/2 1/2 1/2 4/2 orchestration.
I love double bass but have developed a left-right footing instead of a right-left. Meaning: I'll play hands right-left and feet left right. Not sure how I developed that but when trying to play proper hand feet, I end up going back to the other.
Hey Vincent! I'm of the belief that it doesn't matter what limb you're using as long as it sounds good. Sometimes we can get caught up trying to play the "right" way and actually making our playing worse. Go with what is the most comfortable.
Bedankt
Thank you, kind sir!
This reminds me of Tommy Igoe's "do simple things at a high level".
Exactly! The difference between good and great is always the quality, never the quantity! Thanks for reinforcing that!
Great lesson Jeff!!! The right hook of humility is a humbling experience :)
Indeed it is! Thanks, Tony!
I like your style Jeffrey!
Thank you, Bobby!

Excellent! My pleasure. Not yet, but that's a good idea to have a lesson regarding that topic. I'll put it on the list.

Awesome, James! What Vinnie Paul fill might that be?

always great videos,
Excellent! I appreciate that.
Although I'm right handed I can only play these fills left foot and left hand lead.
That's fantastic! Use whatever limb that can produce the most solid and consistent sound possible.
