Thank you, teacher, for giving such an awesome video! I started to learn double-bass in November of last year, and I saw your UA-cam video and bought your book (Essential Double Bass Drumming Techniques) to learn what to practice. DOUBLE BASS DRUMMING 101 , these two video are very very helpful to me, thank you!!
Thanks for uploading these lessons, and glad you recently popped up on my feed… you were actually a teacher of mine at MI in 2011/2012. You won’t remember me, I was only in your class briefly before I left and started playing with a band. But you helped me tremendously, and your playing has always stuck with me. I have a vid on my channel of me playing a 250bpm bridge, and you were one of the reasons I ended up achieving it. So thank you 🙏🏻 subbed, and looking forward to seeing more, even though I don’t play so much these days
Wow, hey John! Thank you for writing such gracious words, I greatly appreciate it!. I always love hearing from past students. And you're absolutely crushing this too - AMAZING! Happy to have you onboard here. Keep me posted on your drumming journey and Keep Pressing!
Jeff's great eh? Learned and improved so much just watching these, his short mater class vid and the phone call. I cannot wait to get my butt into the academy. Will be amazing.
My mind is blown. I'm 66 years old. I wish I had these videos to learn from when I was 20. Young drummers are so lucky for the Internet. Yes I'm frigin old. Check out this old guys drum channel on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/channels/KX3aqDJCF8Ntziyi8XZ8og.html
Not exactly. There is definitely some similar concepts but not as specifically laid out like this short lesson. This is all about taking a basic idea and developing it in a specific direction. As we know there are endless possibilities.
No it's free, Bobby. Just hit the first link in the description or go here and you'll be good-to-go www.drumdisciplineacademy.com/db-101-16th-grooves-pt-2
My primary pedal is straight only because I like the look of a straight bass drum. I try to set up both pedals the same so each foot is as balanced as possible.

This guy is excellent ! Should be playing for a big name band, like Metallica 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks! Lars is irreplaceable though. 😎
Jeff, is this 'gallop' lesson content also covered in your either of your books on double bass drumming?

@@JeffBowders Thanks for the quick reply. Next time I go into Pro Drum I'll be getting a few of your books. Keep up the good work!
@@HoldenMcGexcellent! 90% of my drum book library was purchased at Pro Drum. Love that place and those guys!
Totally yelled out when I heard you say, "We're not gonna assign feet to beats". You hear that DB Peeps ... Don't do it.
Haha! The passion toward Double Bass Freedom is infectious!
I cannot find the pdf. Is it available for a fee?

@@JeffBowders Fantastic! Thank you kindly ☺️🥳
Why are the pedals and your feet not in parallel lines?
I noticed that. Maybe that’s how he feels comfortable playing that way. 🤷♂️
@@Mari000yes, it looks like he would do slide technique from that foot position 😊 he is a very good teacher and a very kind man
