Agreed. We need more common, everyday type recipes that we can prep in a rush, especially in batches. Not big recipes that take an hour+ just for one meal.

Hey Ethan I am going through a divorce after 11 years and I have a new home and your videos are one of my bright times of the day. The joy of cooking comes slowly back and you are a big part of it. Just wanna say thank you!
duuuude thank you for including the little details! I spent hours last week trying to find what surface temp is good to throw chicken on a pan to cook it well without sticking too bad, and you just casually threw in the 400F number I couldn't find anywhere. I love that you are so detailed in your videos, it really gives me a way deeper understanding of the science of cooking and makes me way more confident in the kitchen. (I'm pretty new to cooking and very new to carbon steel. Everyone just says "high heat" for carbon steel, and when I first tried that, I started an oil fire... so I got an IR thermometer but still didn't know for sure what temperature was "high heat" lol)
May I ofer a small tip? Ditch the wax paper and use parchment paper. No wax transfer into your food and is safe for both microwave, toaster, and conventional oven

While I didn't make wraps, I did cook up a bunch of chicken in bite-sized pieces and have been using it all week in tacos and stir-fries. Such a clever idea for quick meals with lots of protein.
You can prepare the veggies as you heat it up the frozen wraps in the oven. Then mix both together and you have a meal basically. Also you can have tzatziki prepared in the fridge for example so you just heat the protein + wrap up and now you have a gyro ready to pop out the oven lol. Thanks for the idea!
Definitely some recipes to add to the list. Just note for anyone using the lavash bread add 60 more calories because it’s 60 per serving and a serving size is half of that wrap. So it’s 120 calories just for the wrap
This is great 👍. I often don't like to eat till later in the day, BUT I have a bad habit of "boredom eating" right before bed 😅. Making something like these would really help make sure I don't go raiding the fridge/pantry for junk late at night 😀. YES!!! 👍❤️🔥💯 I'm a big fan of making and having on hand egg frittata "muffins" too made with many different ingredients of my choice. Keep in a big plastic Ziploc bag in freezer and microwave as needed. Or keep a bunch thawed and ready to eat in a Ziploc in the fridge too for total ready to grab and eat.
I make something similar, I make a large quantity of chicken with basic seasonings and have a bunch of shredded carrots and greens. I'll heat up a tortilla, throw the greens, carrots and chicken in with a sauce and it makes a really really easy meal. If I'm camping, I just take a bagged salad kit, mix it up in the bag and put it on tortillas and eat it with some deli meat.
One thing that is cool is you can vary this formula to whatever profile/cuisine. Cajun chicken, green peppers, onions, Louisiana hot sauce (Franks!). Indian wrap in a Roti/Naan, curried chicken, pickled onions, cucumber, tamarind chutney. Etc… etc…
One thing I just did yesterday, was cook some chili con carne. The leftovers I put in small containers that can hold enough to be the filling for 2 low cal wraps. so when I dont feel like cooking, I can just unfreeze the chili and make 2 tortillas with good macros in like 5 mins. The good thing about chili is, it still tastes godlike from the freezer 🙂

Took this as inspiration to also fix my summer mid day or late night snack cravings... I made a dozen batch of barbecue chicken wraps in the style of your cheesy chipotle chicken wrap with sauteed chicken and onions, some cheddar cheese and a very thick homemade barbecue sauce. Hoping reducing the barbecue sauce will make it come out alright when it freezes... I guess we'll see this week. I had a couple for dinner after prepping the frozen ones and they're fantastic. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hey, Mohamed here, I am huge fan. Your videos have been very helpful to me. Loved the video about cooking crispy bacon (of course I use beef bacon) now I cook it in water all the time. So thanks for all of the information you provide for us home cooks. Can you please do an experiment comparing different roasting methods: 1-start low heat, and increase heat at the end; 2- start high heat and then continue cooking on low heat; 3-full blast, high temp. Which methods gives a crispy outside layer (or skin) and moist meat. Can you compare chicken, lamb, shoulders, and rib roasts.
Eating yogurt with a knife Ethan?? Whatever works right?? 😂. Love this video. This is great for summer. Even for us old retired folks who aren’t as active. Thank you. ❤❤
I'd prefer to just cook the protein. Then when hungry make the taco with condiments - it takes 30 seconds. This allows for less prep time and more flexibility. For the Mexican style for example you can tacos, quesadilla, nachos, enchilada etc with the same components if you leave in the base cooked form
Nah. Who wants to reheat ground beef, but then still have to grate cheese, rinse and slice tomatoes and lettuce, and mix up a chipotle dressing? In that amount of time you could also have cooked fresh ground beef... I'll take a prepared burrito anytime. When I'm really in a hurry I toss it (wrapped in foil) on my engine block to reheat on the drive. Sounds crazy, works lovely.
@@illbetherejk3212 I do. Veggies should already be rinsed. You can grate a little cheese and do a quick chop and a quick mix in the 2 mins it takes to reheat. It opens you up to different combinations and flavors and MUCH less is needed to do in advance
Made the chicken and hummus wraps for me and my son who is a competitive athlete who always needs high protein good meals. We both loved them! We did ours with ground chicken since I was making another meal with it and just portioned off what I needed for the wraps and added the spices to it separately. Definitely going to try it with the chicken breast though as the mouthfeel was a little off.
I have a big problem with reheated meat having an off taste, often called "warmed over flavor". I'd love meal-prep or snack-prep recipes that take into consideration this issue. Either recipes without meat, or ways to store prepped food that will avoid giving it that taste. Because otherwise this seems like it would be great for my lifestyle!
My wife has the same problem, in my opinion I can't taste it. I bought a cheap vacuum sealer and been prepping proteins freezing them and reheating in a pot with boiling water sort of a sous vide I guess, my wife says she can't taste it when I do it that way.
I'm definitely gonna try those. Since I started playing frisbee on a more professional level I started eating like crazy and I have an urge to snack all the time. Those should come in handy as I train for the U20 European Championship in August. Have a good one and thanks
0:43 eating greek yogurt with a butter knife is the realest cooking content on this site. Sometimes I'll risk it with the steak knife if im feeling steady
I just made the cheesy chipotle with vegan mexican cheese because I’m lactose and they were incredible in every way. I am a terrible cook but these were extremely easy and hard to mess up. They also taste incredible.
If you're prepping stuff like this and keeping an eye on your calories/macros, you absolutely have to get a big set of cookie scoops (mine go from about 2tsp to 1/2 cup). Measure out each ingredient, see what cookie scoop is best for the amount you want, and then set up a production line and get consistent portion sizes! It's so much easier than trying to weigh everything or eyeballing it. And bonus, you get to make beautiful even-sized cookies 😂
Great ideas as always, I have a question for anyone who might know. How come flour tortillas and nann bread last in the fridge months past the expiration date, at worst they dry out a bit?
Just made these as an easy lunch option for the week that still help me meet my protein intake requirements! Thanks for the dropping great videos as always!
Thank you so much for this video! I live in an ingredient household but the only snacks I have are sugary carbloaded bombs. Having these for on the go or for when I'm hungry really helps me hit my protein goals and they are DElicious
I made the first chicken wrap and was happy with it. I enjoyed the ease of creating the za'atar mayo; had everything except for the za'atar seasoning but found it at my local Stater Bros. It was a tasty way to enjoy chicken and veggies (lettuce, tomato). *I used spinach wraps. Trying the chipotle chicken next! Seeing as I already have the chipotles in adobo, and I grabbed more paprika and cayenne when I grabbed the za'arar yesterday. Thank you for these videos: healthy, easy to make, convenient ingredients (for the most part). You are a 💎 ❕
"Un-thaw" means to freeze. Since thaw means to defrost or let come to a temporary above freezing. To "un" thaw would essentially be a double negative meaning to freeze.
My go to quick food is a home made cheeseburger. I just bulk make the patties, freeze them and toss one or two on the little gas grill I have on the balcony. I can go from lighting that little grill to eating in 15 minutes, and it tastes way better than anything you'll get from the McDrivethru. And most of the time I don't bother with a bun. Just a couple slices of sandwich bread or a flatbread is good to go. Just stay the hell away from ketchup or sweet relish since they're full of sugar. I'll usually use mustard or mayo, or my low sugar bbq sauce.
I do a similar prep for chicken, but use Achiote and grapeseed oil instead of mayo (which I think was one of your tips last year) it gives such a deep flavor. I cook up batches, separate into vac bags and freeze them. So easy to whip up a quick, delicious dinner in a few minutes. Thanks for all the tips, Ethan! 👍 Also, if you have some fresh dill or cilantro to muddle into the sour cream, these go from fast and delicious, to *BANGIN!* 😆
I'm so excited to try that chipotle chicken wrap recipe! It reminds me a lot of how I used to do burritos, albeit a bit more dietary conscious which is something I especially need now. When I'm feeling lazy I'll debone a rotisserie chicken, and then marinate with a homemade chili de arbol sauce (just puree dried peppers after rehydrating with water, add apple cider vinegar, and salt to taste) before wrapping and grilling. I'll have to try your chicken recipe and put together some freezer burritos like that. I'm obsessed with chipotle chilis, adobo, and chicken so that's going to be a regular staple for me. Seriously, thank you! I'll have to make a big batch and put them in the freezer
I have rice bowl parts ready to go. Kimchi, karaage, shredded veggies like cabbage, chopped onions and peppers to just toss in a bowl and make a rice bowl when I’m hungry
A good pace changer for these is to pop them into a oven (or prefereably an air fryer) instead of a microwave. Takes longer but the crunch is pretty worth it
Please add in the fiber information in the future, most carb counters are subtracting the fiber from the carbs when figuring out our diet plans. Great to see some keto friendly, quick meal options in such a popular channel!
I’ve been in the same predicament lately so these are great ideas for me to try. Another challenge for me has been cutting down my sodium consumption for health reasons. It’s harder to get flavorful dishes without salt, and I’ve had to get more creative with spices as a result. I know you’ve underscored the importance of salt in cooking before, but have you considered doing a video on low-sodium cooking? I’ll bet you can come up with some great recipes
Ethan, this was a great video. Your cultural exploration videos are cool, but this is relatable to everyone. I feel the pain of unsatisfying snackage. A handful of almonds and a handful of baby carrots doesn’t seem nearly as satisfying as a snackwrap, and since the macros make sense, why not go for the one that will be far more satisfying? Thanks for reframing snacking for us.
I recently discovered and made red lentil tofu and I was precisely thinking I'd use them instead of the chicken for the chipotle style wrap. Granted I don't know how they'll freeze but I'll find out.
really appreciate the macro breakdown, I use that app too, cant wait to make these, and try that lavash bread.. flour tortillas are like 120 calories, corn has fewer but they break even after microwaving

Thank you. ❤❤
Haha I was wondering if anyone was going to catch the butter knife, all my spoons were in the dishwasher!
The knife will also clean the sides easily...😅
@@karminiparsan9256you get it
wraps just never tickled my senses. i think i should give it a try once
A good wrap is awesome. They're definitely hard to make like perfectly for someone's taste, but they are great once you find "the one"
Good choice on the humble house sauces, they make great stuff
I'd prefer to just cook the protein. Then when hungry make the taco with condiments - it takes 30 seconds. This allows for less prep time and more flexibility. For the Mexican style for example you can tacos, quesadilla, nachos, enchilada etc with the same components if you leave in the base cooked form
This is so 2022 Ethan though lol
Any alternatives to this for vegetarians?
Yep microwaving is worst. Tbh it's probably my taste buds that changed but I don't feel it as much now.. used to be very sensitive of it.
Just eat it cold, cold chicken wraps are pretty normal,
just maybe not frozen lol
You are a mind-reading angel of culinary goodness 😇
I'm definitely gonna try those. Since I started playing frisbee on a more professional level I started eating like crazy and I have an urge to snack all the time. Those should come in handy as I train for the U20 European Championship in August. Have a good one and thanks
Yes please do more of these…it’s a life saver. Btw love all your videos. Very very helpful
I definitely appreciate the tasty freezer recipes for a busy weeknight. More of these would be appreciated.
Yes we need more videos like this. I find myself eating more snacks in the summer as well. I need to curb the snacking and eat better
You're more active in the summer? With this heat, I can't even bring myself to leave the house. But I do love snacks, and I think I'll try these out
I made the first chicken wrap and was happy with it.
You are a 💎 ❕
Omg! Thank you so much for this! My husband and I want a healthier snack in between our activities. Cannot wait to prep them.
You're so efficient and relatable, love your content!
It's recipes/snacks like this that is quickly making this my favorite cooking channel. Thank you!
Also, if you have some fresh dill or cilantro to muddle into the sour cream, these go from fast and delicious, to *BANGIN!* 😆
Achiote is another one of my favorites, glad to hear!
During the summer I prefer to not use the stove in the evening, so both of these are perfect. Thanks Ethan.
Love this healthy/saving time tips and tricks. Thank you. The balsamic vinegar videos were awesome too
You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed the balsamic series, it was a ton of fun to make those.
A good pace changer for these is to pop them into a oven (or prefereably an air fryer) instead of a microwave. Takes longer but the crunch is pretty worth it
More of these types of videos please!!!
Those humble house sauces are delicious, love HEB lol
Love the high protein content! So hard to get close to 150 grams of protein every day so snack ideas like this help a lot
This guy has a lot of time for activities
You mean you don’t go to the gym, play ultimate frisbee, go hiking, and top it all off with 9 holes of golf?
Lol, they're not all at the same time.
I'm guessing one every day after work, or every other day

Great to hear another content creator that plays Ultimate.
Please add in the fiber information in the future, most carb counters are subtracting the fiber from the carbs when figuring out our diet plans. Great to see some keto friendly, quick meal options in such a popular channel!
Perfect timing!!!!!! I am usually out later in the summer months and am so over protein bars.
Making the chipotle wrap tonight. I used a different recipe with a canned chipotle chili marinade and it turned out great so I expect good results
Your life has been changed so often by food, unbeleavable :D
Love your content Ethan!
Beautiful framing on that beginning A-roll segment, Ethan!
That cherry tomato slicing hack is BRILLIANT!!!
I see what you did there at the end. "That'll wrap it up for me in this one" 🥁😂
More please!!! I love freezer meals/snacks that I can cook once and enjoy all month long. Vegan options too please!!
I recently discovered and made red lentil tofu and I was precisely thinking I'd use them instead of the chicken for the chipotle style wrap. Granted I don't know how they'll freeze but I'll find out.
Most if not all of your healthy recipes are now in usual meal rotation. Please keep them coming.
really appreciate the macro breakdown, I use that app too, cant wait to make these, and try that lavash bread.. flour tortillas are like 120 calories, corn has fewer but they break even after microwaving
