I've worked in NHRA and built frame off restorations and helped build pro-stock. Cars like this one, to me, is cooler than any of the cars I've been around...it's honest and real hot rodding
Big part of the reason it was running warm is that big gap between the radiator and core support. Seal that up and it will stay cooler than it does now. Air wasnt getting forced through the fins it took the past of least resistance. You can make the out of rubber, foam etc. Have that 16 in spal fan on mine its not enough to cool it. Avg 3-400ish hp car probably be ok
beautiful car.. you can A frame it and add modern suspension fully adjustable, even independent, go big block.. yup, plug and play clips, or a whole new chassis DIALED in . . when I was like 11 a neighbor had a white 64, SS I forget the engine it wasn't a big block but enough that it had a little juice I wanna say 289 but it might have been a 327 they had a shop but I never saw em work on it I think it was stock, manual too.. one evening on the way back home there's a couple dips like whooptie doos, large ones like oh 15-20ft high then 15ft tops... they're a hoot still there, 127th st SE in machias wa.. you can hit er and catch air, HOOT! my sis did it in a 65 442 with a 455 the hood popped up we landed so hard! anywho the guy that owned the car Kim wasn't really on it from what he says ..(uh huh) but he jammed it some to get light or weightless as you do at speed and then at the bottom a deer popped out in front of him, rolled that little nova at least 6 times, it looked like that ball of tin foil you take off the turkey and wad it up... no jokes I mean you could make out the rear grille and some of the front but the rest was like WTH is this car? lol, it wasn't that bad, totaled so his brother dug a hole with the backhoe and buried it in the lot between our houses, still there today, the whole car . . . lol ... I always liked that car even if I did see it just a few times... lol
Its quick enough..when builds get up there in hp # reliability goes down . Nice ride digging it just the way it is. Grew up in one of these...65 Wagon 283 Dad bought new
These days its about impossible to build one ground up as old cars are so overpriced. Find a decent driver put some personal touches on it youre ahead of the game.
AND he has an FD in the garage! A man of class!

I owned a 76 4 door Nova I Called “Cadillac “!
I had a red 65 Nova SS 283 cu. in. Automatic. It was totaled out after a guy rear ended me while I was parking on a city street.
That’s a bummer!
So how much money does he have rolled up in it?
a lot
My Nova is a 63
✌️🤙
Thanks for the continued support!
