I loved this scene because it really showed how much Stephen was carrying and the toll it was taking on him. This scene made me feel for his character.
Idk why this was a deleted scene? This is the scene that moved me the most ... " Tim went to a fire, now he doesn't have a face". Gives me chills every time 😪
"I need that fire report, Lieutenant." I like how their conversation starts off as 2 friends. Then ends with them speaking as a Captain and a Lieutenant, a superior officer giving an order to a subordinate.
Also included in one of the releases. To date I have seen 4 different releases, plus the anniversary edition. They all include different deleted scenes. The only ones not appearing in any release is Brian meeting with the Chief of the academy and Brian talking to Jennifer after Swazack gets the boot.
This is interesting because I have a home video with this audio in the background because it was airing on TV (specifically, the "Tim went to the fire" part), meaning it wasn't cut from whatever cable broadcast they did of this. Similar to the "cut" octopus scene from the Goonies that never was actually cut when it aired on cable TV
Yall are crying about Backdraft this and that when Kurt Russell is an illiterate Firefighter...Makes sense now. Why this was cut? Maybe because it would offend the illiterati? Bullet dodged Backdraft, wise move.

This scene shows more of the how Shadow and Stephen were probably friends.

Same here. It's still haunting, to this day.
This is in the made for tv version
Man.Bull was like a high school football champion who lost a big game and shadow was like a father making sure his son was okay.
“ need some sleep”.....
BELL RINGS” there’s a fire somewhere”!
I love this movie it is my favorite movie of all times I cry every time I watch it
Backdraft is one of the best firefighter movies ever made. I hope they do an extended edition one day .

Sean Sweeney my bluray release has those scenes.
same!
It was a mistake to cut that scene.

Life is like this sometimes
It's mentioned in the book. Now I know why.
There's a book?
That is the biggest company officer quarters I've ever seen!

It was probably to trim the runtime. That is my only guess.
