My absolute favorite movie of all time . I was 11 years old sitting on the couch with my foster father I think we will watch that movie like three times in one day. After that I watched it every time. I know every line. Had to stop watching watching. Iam 41 now
I remember doing this as a kid and it scared the crud out of me. I also want to say that I remember the walkway that you stood on actually moving and making it feel like you dropped, though it doesn't look like that happened in this video. It's possible that I imagined that as a kid and told myself the story enough that I believe it really happened. It's a shame that it's not there any more. It was a great way to help dry off after going on the JP River Ride.
srayj Same thing for me. We went in the beginning of April, so it was still pretty cold up there. Freeze your ass off on JP and get nice and toasty again with the flames.
srayj No I remember the floor did drop a bit. Scared the crap out of me too haha. I also thought the flames were gonna come through the metal pourous floor luckily that never happened. Hands down my favorite attraction there aside from the original king kong
+srayj The walkway most definitely did drop, just a short sharp jerk. I rode it when I was really young and it scared the crap out of me, I grabbed onto my dad and wouldn't let go, lol.
no you are super right about the drop, i was like barely 4 or 5 when i went on this, i almost assumed it was a nightmare, but this was it, 10/10 did not enjoy. too scary!
I remember a long time ago. It was the last show of the day, my family took me to the attraction against my will that day, and the fires scared the crap out of me. I cried and screamed in fear as the flames roared. I was a little kid at the time
I distinctly remember that there was more flames on that ride. They most likely had to tone it down due to too many complaints that it was was WAYYYYY too hot.
Agreed, I saw this in 1992 and seem to remember it being way more intense and that backdraft flame came a lot further out at the start and there were actual drums that rocketed up like in the movie. I went back in 2016 and was deeply disappointed that it was gone and replaced with kids stuff. All the classic stuff from Universal seemed to have disappeared, it was soul destroying. After only an hour or two, I left in sheer sadness that the physical aspects of my childhood memories of classic movies had just disappeared.
I remember seeing this when I was a kid, I thought it was real and nearly had a panic attack so my mom rushed my brother and I out. We all calmed down when we left because there was a show with all of the Marvel superheroes but throughout my kindergarten and first grade years I had a terrible fear of fire.
I experienced this attraction in 2003 and I had to admit the attraction was intense and I was beginning to think I was being boiled during the chemical warehouse fire recreation due to the heat
Thanks for sharing this video, TheCoasterViews. I remember visiting this "Backdraft" show when I visited Universal Studios Hollywood with an ex-boyfriend. During that time, they also had that "Back to the Future" ride, Jurassic Park ride, Jaws ride, Dantes Peak, Harry & the Hendersons, etc. Interesting that this "Backdraft" show has since moved to Japan. It's been so long since I visited a Universal Studios. But I do remember that I liked this "Backdraft" show.
the walkway that axe and bull and brian where standing on the milddle went strat down and the 2 sides where faceing down and bull was holding axe and it was sad when steven went down and axe and the cool part of backdraft was when the roof was going down brian was running and the fire was right behind him and I liked it when brian grapped on to the ladder and the fire exploded in his face
Yeah, they got rid of this and the special effecks stage for the new Transformers ride. But the question you should be asking is How come they made a new special effecks stage in the upper lot, but not a new backdraft?
yeah I saw this on my first trip in 1992. Was 6 years old and scared out my wits! Went back just last month and was so looking forward to going and seeing it again but boy was I disappointed. All the stuff that made Hollywood and Universal Studios great is all but gone. Only thing I really recognised was the Back to the Future clock tower in the back lot tour and the old Universal Studios Neon sign at the entrance. Back to the Future ride gone, Nickelodeon sound stage gone, Beetlejuice show gone. All those memories gone!
5:22-7:16: This entire scene scared the crap out of me when I first went to US Hollywood on this ride when I was seven. So did alot of stuff in the studio tour, but when I went back there last summer, the studio tour didn't even frighten me?
The 10 minutes above isn't terrible, but I do agree that it's as good as the original. I think there's a few factors why: 1. Ron Howard didn't direct this one - he's a brilliant director and gave the original the edge and uniqueness that it has. 2. It doesn't have cowboy factor of Kurt Russel - he made the original both thrilling and entertaining - the sequel is mostly just serious. 3. There isn't as much action in this one it seems - which was the biggest positive of the original. 4. The music isn't as good - and partly because it isn't composed by Hans Zimmer - remember the music gave the original a big boost. I'm glad Universal Studios attempted a sequel but I'm also sad that it didn't live up the quality of the original.

Awesome ride to all the Fire Fighters out there thank you 🙏 for your service!

Yeah you're remembering right the floor did drop and it scared the crap outta me. Man that ride (experience) was so much fun.

I'm on such a nostalgia trip right now. Some of my earliest memories are of Universal Studios Hollywood. I should go back soon.
This movie still makes me cry when that fated scene plays
As a kid in the 90's Universal had a way of always making you feel like you were walking toward your death.
I remember a long time ago. It was the last show of the day, my family took me to the attraction against my will that day, and the fires scared the crap out of me. I cried and screamed in fear as the flames roared. I was a little kid at the time
@@MerSorax2007 Yeah I thought there was a 50/50 chance of getting out of there alive. lol

It couldn't have been that hot
@@patrickharvey158 some people are sensitive. Not me.
@@Mr0204329 I highly doubt it was anywhere above 100 degrees where they were standing
I saw this live on location in 2006. It was almost as hot outside as it was in that studio.

AWESOME! Its still there, someone told me they got rid of backdraft
Even though it’s controlled if one thing malfunctions it could cause big issues. Still pretty cool
I still remember the heat off that fire. It was intense.
What!!! I loved that ride. How Often do get to experance That much heat and light and still be safed. Damn.
Same for me as a kid I used to be terrified of UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Tram Tour and the Backdraft attraction and I only got to see T2 3D 3 times
That spinning tunnel thing was freaky. lol
LMAO I heard one kid say, "we're gonna die" XD XD XD
what
Thanks universal foe getting rid of a classic attraction all for transformers
I experienced this attraction in 2003 and I had to admit the attraction was intense and I was beginning to think I was being boiled during the chemical warehouse fire recreation due to the heat
I miss this ride this was my favorite 😂
never got to do it as i was at universal orlando and its not there but as a firefighter it would have prolly been neat
So good,I want to see it again

reminds me of the twister ride and the old earthquake ride i havn;t seen them in person but the videos i did see on youtube were cool

This ride was better than the transformers ride
That was an awesome movie.
This ride was awsome.. but when I went I remember it being more extreme idk
Lizbeth Ibanez same
I remember this!! It used to scare me so bad xD

Gosh is been years since I have been on this ride. at least 6 years.
I seen the movie it was sad.
Twice in my life I tried to do this and I walked out both times. Failed after the scary intro video and fire burning so close to me.
What you can't tell is that it was HOT as hell & the floor dropped
I MISS THIS SO MUCH!!!!! :[
this ride/show was so legit and great. I think they replaced it with like Fast and the Furious or some bs
the bullshit they replaced it with was transformers. fast and furious is on the studio tour

i heard some kid say im gonna die
This ride scared the shit outa me as a kid. There was way more fire.
Same here. The danger looked realistic to me
Tha ride has been closed for a while now
I cannot express to you the terror inside a 7-year-olds mind when he goes through this and thinks it's real. God, that scared the hell out of me.
Lol I remember shitting my pants when I was younger on this show because I thought I was going to die
funny how the kid who said "we're going to die" is heard weeping after the show
i was going to put a mean lame comment about my opinion of the ride, but i wont.
rad ride! its amazing.
I remember that steven died and brain and stevens dad died
cool!
Wait, it's back???
Listen to that DETROIT!
was this ride in the lower lot or the upper lot?
+Ethan Cha lower
I don't remember the annoying director voice talking over the end. When was that added?
Yupp I remember it to
I was always so terrified of this idk why lol
This scared the living crap out of me when I was 7!
I wish I could have gone on this. But, it ironically burned down. :C

It burned down and was replaced by Twister. Theres probably gonna be a once in a lifetime Tornado in Orlando and hit just Twister and nothing else.

Heh, the Iron Chef japan music in the background.
Actually I'd say, the Iron Chef has the Backdraft music playing.
i like how the kid at the beginning yells "We're gonna die!"
