The fact that they aren’t goth or have any goth fashion it just defeats the purpose of the movie they’re deadass wearing forever 21 like it’s giving me very much girls who would’ve bullied real alternative people
@dude bro it’s a sequel so it should be like the first one or at least have the same amount of good acting, effects and scenes. This was a shitty sequel u can’t deny it🤷♀️ it’s a huge let down to the fans that watched the original
The Craft WAS it. There was absolutely NO need for a remake. It will always be it. This movie concept was “cute”, but it wasn’t original. Nothing ever beat the originals.
It feels like none of these directors really understands how to emulate Gen Z fashion and culture. This looks like H&M meets Nickelodeon meets a Ouija board
Gen z style is fast fashion i.e Forever 21, Fashion Nova, Shein so I think the look in the movie is very accurate. The music now also doesn’t bump as hard as the 90’s grundge & alternative rock that made the first movies montage scenes. There’s a lot less musicianship just being honest.
To be fair, the first movie was the same way. It attracted a lot of younger people who might be interested in witchcraft, many didn't stick around, but some stayed and grew into decent and respectable witches 20 some years later.
If you actually saw this movie you would know that something traumatic happened to Fairuzas character in the original and one of the girls in this movie is her daughter. The original never used sperm in a spell.. this one tells more about occult knowledge. If you can decode and know the history of female and male energies then this movie was simply good and didn't need to be more. The first was older women playing younger roles during a grunge era I grew up in that era and older than you so I know . The movies aren't meant to be the same. But different like they are .
"We are the weirdos, mister" sorry, but no you're not. The acting looks light as a feather, stiff as a board. I will rewatch the original. This is going to be a flippity flop.
The original is a cult classic this will never be, there didn’t seem to be any grime or grit to it in this trailer. I’ll give it a watch when it’s on DVD haha
This is some gen z shit. Watched it out of curiosity, it felt like it was advertisement. If you love the original do not watch this, your brain cells wi i l l d i e.
So you’ve rehashed the original story to make a new film when really everyone should just go watch the original film. Edit: I watched it and other than the fairuza cameo it didn’t wow me like the first one did.

@@abepresume8132 I just don't understand the premise. It's a sequel that repeats many scenes from the original film. How does that work? How on earth do the new girls have a Polaroid of Nancy that must have been taken during the events in which Nancy approaches Sarah in the bathroom stalls. Did Nancy pause so Sarah, or one of the other girls, could take a quick pic before they got back to harassing each other. Why ignore the aesthetic of the original movie, pink fluffy jumpers, pastel shades for heavens sake and speaking as a girl I have never had a period that soaked through my panties, my denim gusset on my jeans: such that it runs all over the floor. If that happens you need a Doctor to be honest.
There is nothing that makes this movie enticing other than a Polaroid of Nancy. Fairuza Balk was the reason the original was successful despite its flaws.
They forgot that a very important part of the success of the original movie was fashion. Amazing goth fashion + great defined and interesting characters who had strong conflicts each one of them + goth attitude reflected in their daily lives + a vibe that made, you wanna be there. I really don't think I would wanna be a part of this new coven it looks weak and kinda boring too. :(
I actually think their fashion sense is really cute. It for sure represents the newer generation. They should've made them stand out more, keep their style, sure, but make it more goth.
@@xiopaovid1215 I mean, what of the biggest things about the old movie was that the girls were outsiders who didn't fit in while these girls clothes seem a little too fashionable.
Then I can't imagine how much it bothers you every time some idiot takes a flash through a glass panel in a movie. I also feel like that Polaroid mistake is probably the least of this movie's problems in simple mistakes.
@ronnie boo Thornton actually it will cause people to reject the movie like they did with Mean Girls 2 let them feel what they wanna feel this movie should be buried right beside Chris’ dead body
This is not a remake, the first one was the craft 1996 and this was the sequel to the movie the craft legacy “ i mean thier daughter who inherit thier powers
It reached the point of parody when they started making dark covers of "What a Wonderful World". Nowadays, trailers would be more creative if they just used a song that was dark to begin with.
Fairuza bulk deserved an Oscar for her role as Nancy! I don’t think I’ve seen a witch played so well in film! They should’ve done a part 2 with the original cast. I’m sure Nancy would’ve eventually found a way to tap into her powers again. Such an iconic film
I’m sorry, but I can’t stand the overwhelming amount of “fan service” that this movie is trying to rehash from the original. This movie needed to be it’s own thing. Why, why, WHY would you try and practically remake a classic, and butcher it in the process!?!?!?!?
Like the "light as a feather stiff as a board." Ummm well, they literally only pulled that off after Sara joined...and if this is the origin, then how does that even make sense?
@@eeeeeeeeee3eeee That’s even worse if it’s a sequel. Why rehash something that’s been done before with a sequel 😂 Anyway, I still haven’t seen it, BUT I plan to, and I will either praise it or tear it to pieces.

@Purplehayes91 sis what. That made no sense at all. That is such a random, stupid, and childish reply. And on top of that, it makes no sense. I think you are the one with brain damage.
I feel like this would’ve been better if they: 1. Changed the outfits. The original had that kinda dark and slightly goth vibes. The remake is too colorful. I think a good modern day version of that goth aesthetic would be like alt/e girl vibes. 2. Should’ve kept it set at a Catholic school. They could’ve also played that up more in the original. 3. Honestly I think the rituals itself look great. From what I can see, there’s a lot of plants and flowers, which feels more realistic to actual witchcraft, but the special effects need to go. 4. The magic shouldn’t be so “say magic word and physical effect happens”. I think the original was nice because it built that up. It’s a lot scarier when you can’t see it physically happening in a second. 5. Should’ve been scarier. Kinda simple. Maybe more use of bugs and snakes like in the last movie? Or perhaps given the amount of plants, perhaps like implementing plants? 6. Maybe the spell book should’ve been like a website they found online? Again, more realistic to the current times 7. Doesn’t exactly feel like “witchcraft”, more like generic magic. The magic seems a bit too modern, which would be fine, but it doesn’t seem intentional. Again, using more “gross” plants would be cool, like herbs, mushrooms, roots, leaves, etc. the flowers seem too dainty.
@Maximus Prime because its overly used in every tv show/movie now and is destroying the series/movie by changing characters in opposite to the source material.
@@AntnyXO It's clearly just a soft reboot The Craft just with modern girls, and pretending it's a sequel by virtue of that photograph. All the Goth aesthetic is gone and the alternative style and edge of the original.
You know, it's from Blumhouse. They don't disappoint as other producer's. If you ask me I should vote to give the Blumhouse team the responsibility of Universal's Dark Universe. They should know what exactly do.
Completely agree. The original girls were so distinctive and interesting. They each embodied their characters just by looking at them. These actresses are so plain.
I was happy to see it wasn't a remake and just as quickly disappointed with the visual effects. If people saw fairy glitter every time they prayed or worked magic then everyone would do it because there would be no need for belief. The real beauty and horror is going through a ritual and not really knowing if it's working until you see the results later. And what's up with the telekinetic crap? Witches are X-Men or fellow escapees of Eleven now?
the og girls had telekinesis too and tbh, with how vast and old and wide the world is, i’m not at all discounting that there have been magickal practitioners across time who’ve been able to move things with their mind/energy
You're so right. The more subtle magic is, the more intense it feels, because it actually feels real. When you see fairy glitter, it just totally takes you out of it.
It wouldn’t have been that bad if they had done away with the really cheesy sparkly special effects. Is this a Disney channel movie or a horror movie??
Wow, I didn’t know Kidz Bop did films now. This looks like an overly filtered /candy coated version of the craft. The original had that more grunge, witchy vibe. This is more VSCO girls playing fairies. I know the original only had one POC but Jesus, this isn’t the 90s where the only thing needed to be diverse is to add a black character. Throw in a south Asian, Latina, native or East Asian. All of which have witchcraft in these cultures but it’s usually European based craft that is only viewed as “witchcraft” which is annoying.
you had me up untill your idea of shoving political dog whistles into it. You realize that some times there are just no other nationality around? I mean, why not some First Nations Canadians? or some people in wheelchairs?
@@RandomPickles yet they're always white people around you people, are so obvious it's disgusting there are movies with only white casts and there's nothing to see here. @Vic ugh no sorry lol that is not how any of this works. I have Asperger's. I am literally incapable of getting emotional of a fact based argument. You can not cater to every single demographic in a movie. And during a remake you are bringing other factors in. You have no logical argument against mine. Nobody does, because it is not MY argument. It is reality. It is fact.
UngovernedReason sweetie, check yourself. It’s not a matter of “there aren’t others around” when casting calls literally ask for specific races for each character. I’ve acted before. The main characters they’d specifically ask for the race. The only time they didn’t is for small roles. Hell, even on the hunger games, Katniss was supposed to be a mixed race person yet the casting call didn’t even try to include that, it just asked for white females. First Nation Canadians are still part of the term “native Americans” as native Americans refers to the indigenous peoples of Americas as in North and South America as a whole.
but like........... i swear movie directors are all kids who were born rich and never bullied a day in their life. nobody has ever laughed of sb bc they got a nosebleed- they'd legit just hand her a tissue like 'yo ur bleeding girl' and then everyone would continue to not care.
Fairuza balks photo is the only reason most of us fans of the original came to view the trailer in hopes to find out she would be in the movie. It needs to be a well thought out sequel with original cast!

@@HexZatara no it really won't. It ruins the vibe the original had which was more a dark and gothic theme. In the original all the girls were considered weirdos and outcasts. In this one they all look so normal
I've seen it and my opinion still stands. It doesn't even feel like a real motion picture, more like some amateur student project trying to shove all socially relevant issues into it, but incoherently so, leaving it a total mess. The only interesting part of it was SPOILER ALERT........ the appearance of Nancy and the connection between her and the main protagonist (who looked like she was 10 years old btw)
Soooo, is this a remake or a sequel?? Since there is a Polaroid pic of Nancy, I'm confused.... Whatever it is, I think I'm gonna sit this one out and stick to watching the original because I am honestly sick of Hollywood remaking everything that is classic. You can't beat the original!
Right, I understood that part, but what got me was the beginning. To me, it was leading up to be just a remake of the original with a similar story line, but a few tweaks. But then the pic of Nancy was then went back to hinting of a sequel. Maybe both somehow a remake and sequel?? Idk.
My thoughts exactly! It comes off as a sequel cause the whole Legacy title thing, but then the plot looks recycled along with quotes from the original! It already could have been so much better than it's looking :(

@@LittleMissMac23 no. Gen z doesnt have fashion. It's literally stolen clothes and people who are "eDgY"

The best part about the whole trailer was fairuza balks photo appearing
😂😂😂😂😂🤣
If you actually saw this movie you would know that something traumatic happened to Fairuzas character in the original and one of the girls in this movie is her daughter. The original never used sperm in a spell.. this one tells more about occult knowledge. If you can decode and know the history of female and male energies then this movie was simply good and didn't need to be more. The first was older women playing younger roles during a grunge era I grew up in that era and older than you so I know . The movies aren't meant to be the same. But different like they are .

Sad times eh 😢
There is nothing that makes this movie enticing other than a Polaroid of Nancy. Fairuza Balk was the reason the original was successful despite its flaws.
Fairuza Balk owned that film. No piece of scenery escaped unchewed.
A polaroid that shouldn't exist as it's a screen shot of Sarah's view of her. I hope they correct that by release.
That film was flawless
They forgot that a very important part of the success of the original movie was fashion. Amazing goth fashion + great defined and interesting characters who had strong conflicts each one of them + goth attitude reflected in their daily lives + a vibe that made, you wanna be there. I really don't think I would wanna be a part of this new coven it looks weak and kinda boring too. :(
Their coven screams: "I'm not like other girls" energy while looking as generic as hell.

Imagine in a sequel the other 3 girls turn out to be the daughters of Sarah, Bonnie and Rochelle
That would have been brilliant
Not going to lie I thought they were all be the daughters of the original cast and not know it that they had powers until the other girl came
I thought it would be made known in this movie, considering "legacy" is in the title. It worked for one girl. LOL!
I feel like this would’ve been better if they:
Again, more realistic to the current times

Hell, even on the hunger games, Katniss was supposed to be a mixed race person yet the casting call didn’t even try to include that, it just asked for white females.
