I wish more werewolves in movies were portrayed like the one from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban or from WER (2013). A thinner, tall, sinewy figure with fur that only covers certain parts of the body, and a body that still shows some human features. For me, the best werewolf design would be a mix between the one from Harry Potter, the Wendigo from Until Dawn, and the werewolf from The Quarry. Lately, in every werewolf movie, the werewolf is depicted as a big furry ball that resembles a large bear or a bigger wolf. A werewolf should be a mix of human and wolf, but in most werewolf movies, the animalistic wolf part dominates over the human one. In my opinion, a werewolf should be portrayed as something unnatural, something that definitely doesn't fit into the world around us, so no one should ever mistake it for a large bear or a wolf. Hopefully, we'll get to see such a portrayal one day.
@@LordSiravant That’s completely fine. Everyone likes different things. But for me, the things you have mentioned are exactly the ones I find the scariest and coolest about werewolves. It’s not as boring a design when a werewolf is tall and lanky.
I like the kind where they look more wolf but can still walk around on two feet as well as four & have human like hands & covered in fur with the wolf head. Basically like an anthropomorphic wolf
Honestly, I like the direction this is going. Most werewolf movies tend to exclusively focus on them attacking a group of friends or strangers, but because this happens to the father in a family this is going to feel a lot more devastating. In terms of what I've seen of the design though, I'm not a huge fan...but I'll be open minded.
I think it’s great how they kept it traditional. The wolf man looks like the wolf man from “The Curse of the Werewolf” 1961 horror Hammer Movie. I also like how the wolfman has the green button up shirt and brown pants like Lon Chaney Jr from the original 1941!
The only frame from this trailer that gives me HOPE that we havent seen the final look of the werewolf is at the 2:14 mark, if you pause it looks like the wolfman has black hair/fur around its head and balding like the design we have seen.
I can’t even say what I saw looks good to me. It doesn’t help that there seems to be a whopping three characters in the whole thing. This has all the looks of a solid pass.
@@minusoneyh Hey, you want to watch it go ahead, I don’t think I can judge it as being an awful movie for everyone off of 2 minutes. And yeah, I saw the creature on the hood of the car too. Personally really unimpressed with the makeup and prosthetics but maybe it’s only in mid change. My biggest problem is the lack of characters, it severely limits the number of interactions which really disinterests me. By example, there’s that film ‘No One Can Save You,’ on Hulu, with one woman running away from aliens through a town that’s effectively abandoned. Which means it’s a one woman show with zip and zero dialogue. And zero interest from me.
@@Scifi4lifeages ago. OK guys the Wolfman reveal when the first trailer came out was just a plain ordinary costume. I am 100% positive that with the CG and real make up work, itwill look 100% better.
I like how they depict lycanthropy like rabies, with the afflicted becoming more confused and aggressive over a gradual period of time as infection spreads within. It makes it a thousand times more terrifying.

I wish Rick Baker didn't retire from the makeup department. He could have won another Oscar for Werewolf designs like An American Werewolf in London and the Wolfman 2010.
Excellent sound design, here; the wolf-man doesn't sound like an actual, natural wolf, but something unmistakeably supernatural and menacing. The exact way that his wife's voice gets distorted when he's unable to understand her sets up a similar dread from both perspectives.
with all the shit I've seen in the woods deep forests, I would consider this movie as a warning NOT to travel alone in unknown forests and deep mountain ranges. Pls be careful, 2024 everything and anything is possible now.

Hopefully, we'll get to see such a portrayal one day.
Gonna have to disagree with you on that. I did NOT like the HP werewolf design precisely because it looked so lanky and hairless.
@@LordSiravant That’s completely fine. Everyone likes different things. But for me, the things you have mentioned are exactly the ones I find the scariest and coolest about werewolves. It’s not as boring a design when a werewolf is tall and lanky.
@@LordSiravant
Lankiness can be creepy.
I like the kind where they look more wolf but can still walk around on two feet as well as four & have human like hands & covered in fur with the wolf head. Basically like an anthropomorphic wolf
You we really actually need a werewolf movie where it's more then one and a full pack, but everyone only thinks it's one
Should just call it Night Of The Living Wolf Man
You peeped the similarities also, huh😎
Thanks for showing whole movie , saved my time :)
Anna to the Wolfman: "What are you wearing? You look poor..."
The only frame from this trailer that gives me HOPE that we havent seen the final look of the werewolf is at the 2:14 mark, if you pause it looks like the wolfman has black hair/fur around its head and balding like the design we have seen.
whatever they show you, that's what you get.
2:34 Atleast they could hide the monster🤦
He was out at Universal Halloween Horror Nights for photo ops and looked terrible, but this movie looks like it might be pretty good to me.
I can’t even say what I saw looks good to me. It doesn’t help that there seems to be a whopping three characters in the whole thing. This has all the looks of a solid pass.
@@KainErrow we can see it champ💪🏻
@@rschaen Good opinion!!
I'm so happy that monster movies are back
They never left
@@Scifi4lifeyes they did
@@Bread-nx9fo when?
@@Scifi4lifeages ago. Zombies and pseudo-intellectual drama dump psychological thrillers took their place, using "monsters" only as an aesthetic in the film but always were about either getting over PTSD or other mental issues. The monsters were never the main focus. Which really sucks for this genre but at least it seems like they're bringing them back for real this time.
Cant believe we got Wolfman and Werewolf trailer a day apart...
OK guys the Wolfman reveal when the first trailer came out was just a plain ordinary costume. I am 100% positive that with the CG and real make up work, itwill look 100% better.
I'm not
I stopped at 1:00, that's good enough for me, I'm really looking forward to this!!!
I like how they depict lycanthropy like rabies, with the afflicted becoming more confused and aggressive over a gradual period of time as infection spreads within. It makes it a thousand times more terrifying.
That's a trope from literally all zombie films.
Nothing will beat the crème de la crème of werewolf movies…..
Teen Wolf Too (1987)
The Wolfman design that was displayed, however, is definitely not the finished version. As the movie progresses, I anticipate that his transition will be slower and worse.
I want to like this so much, but...
1.) Blumhouse X
2.) January release date XX
3.) Leigh Whannell writing - Oh cool!! Leigh Whannell Directing XXX
This one is gonna be rough.
I understand the first two, but Leigh directing? Upgrade and The Invisible Man were both good. Did you not like them?
Blumhouse is the goat
@@michaelmentality To each, their own, but for me, most Blumhouse movies are cheesy, teenager Horror.
@@NeoConnor1 To be fair, I've only seen Insidious 3. Maybe I need to look into his other work.
I'm sorry but you lost all credibility with your "critique" (don't know a better term) when you mentioned Leigh Whannel directing as a strike.
Gave away one of the biggest scares in the film
Nice job guys

I like this. It's not full of overproduced fluff or post-Scream irony. Just a straightforward horror flick that looks fun. Hope the movie is as good at this trailer!
Also, I'm a font nerd and I love the "transforming" letters of the title. Nice touch!
A werewolf movie I rarely hear mentioned is Bad Moon. It's one of my favs. It's about a woman and her young son. Her brother comes to stay with her in his trailer. They have a dog named Thor or Thorn ( been a while since I've seen it). Anyway the dog knows something isn't right with the brother!
Feels like yet another take on domestic abuse. Invisible man was the abusive husband. This looks like a take on the once loving, know abusive father.
@@nslater1388 that’s jumping to conclusions way too much. I didn’t get any abusive father vibes. I got annoying bossy, let me do the talking and thinking wife vibes.

I love the look the 2010 wolfman had
Same here, and i thought The Wolfman (2010) was a good movie in my opinion.
Me, too. Rick Baker was the man.
It will be one of the best horror movies of next year!
The wolfman movie with Benicio Deltoro and Anthony Hopkins was not suspenseful, I think they missed a great opportunity with that werewolf movie!! The best werewolf movie in my opinion was The Silver Bullet because the story line or writers had us in suspense about who the werewolf was and that made the movie so great!! Thanks Steven King!! I AM A WEREWOLF FAN, CAN’T WAIT UNTIL THIS COMES OUT!!
😂 The lack of concern for the person who fell out the vehicle. Had me dying!
Fell? No, my friend. They were clearly pulled out of that truck and shat out in the woods.

Husband? I thought that was her oldest daughter?
Huh?? Read what you wrote again
Im stoked after watching Ozarks, Julia Garner has become one of my favorite actors.
Nothing is better then the original
Would it kill directors to set a proper exposure?
I'm getting so tired of staring at a black screen trying to figure out what the heck is happening.
You guys couldn't have come up with a better wolf man design
I wish Rick Baker didn't retire from the makeup department. He could have won another Oscar for Werewolf designs like An American Werewolf in London and the Wolfman 2010.
@taajwarpope2708 Same here, and nothing can beat his werewolf designs. To be honest, he's one of the best makeup effects creators out there.
😂😂
Looks cool, but I'm not on board with the wolf man design, sadly.
What's the design
@@jarrodedson5441 Just an old man looking thing with mostly no hair at all

@@shadowwolf2564 where is that design
We just seen the whole movie in a 2:45 minute trailer gotta love it
Excellent sound design, here; the wolf-man doesn't sound like an actual, natural wolf, but something unmistakeably supernatural and menacing. The exact way that his wife's voice gets distorted when he's unable to understand her sets up a similar dread from both perspectives.
"make werewolfs werewolfs again 2024"

The Dark Universe is not dead!
I loved The Invisible Man so I'll probably love this too. Really digging these modern portrayals of the classic Universal monsters. It's less about the creatures and scares and more about the psychological and emotional torment.
It is a shame how we didn't get a sequel of Van Helsing and The Wolfman (2010) . Two great classics regardless of what people say

i hate the design thats been leaked for this. Sorry but 2010 wolfman or even 1994 wolf ending makup is better design than this. I think this is a miss.

The Father that disappeared under mysterious circumstances before leaving the property.
