If you're playing with friends, 3D world is a blast. But by yourself its kinda alright. Mario Oddysey solos singleplayer imo 🔥
Yeah but I prefer odyssey better,
1. Mario has so many types of movements and he gets the help of cappy to transform into types of creatures
2.physics and music are fantastic, it’s actually like he is going up and down hills(for .e.g)and there might not be shadows but it’s more detailed in every single kingdom.
3. There is balloon world where u test your skills of speed in order to quickly find other peoples balloons, which in fact gives u coins and not need to get coins normally.
4. There are like 50 skins in Mario oddyssy, u can be in any kind of outfit anyone wants to and be as.
5. The broodals and the bowser boss fight 1+2 is enjoyable while super Mario 3d world is just only different little worlds with a castle for every different boss fight, but in Mario odyssey u can just almost get into the boss fight in 3 minutes and it’s really cool

I really want both games. I've recently become interested in Super Mario 3D World after playing 3D Land on the 3DS. I remember wanting odyessy in 2018 but it was sold out from my local gamestore. :(

I think Odyssey is better. 3d World definitely has some great ideas and levels. But in my opinion Galaxy is away better linear 3d Mario game. While with Odyssey I think it’s the best sandbox style 3d Mario game. The kingdoms are so fun to explore. And the movement is perfect. I’ve never really been a huge fan of Bowsers Fury. I enjoyed it but I felt like you were just doing the same task over and over again to get the Cat Shines, and I don’t find the world you explore in Fury better then the worlds in other sandbox Mario games.

Mario Odyssey has better music and better levels. Jump up superstar is just a straight up masterpiece and Luncheon, Metro, Wooded, and just every kingdom is filled to the brim with exiting gameplay and moons.
I love 3D World, ngl. It's a very fun game to play with your family and friends. Playing by yourself in 3D World...meh, it's alright. But I will say Odyssey is better. It has a bit of a better story tbh, plus the controls on Odyssey is a lot more fun. Both games are amazing in my opinion, but Odyssey is definitely better
3D World loses a few points for me, mainly cause of skill issues involving depth perception

Odyssey is an open world exploration game but 3d world has levels and a traditional style. Are very different and makes it hard to rank but I think 3d world doesn’t get boring as fast

Me and my girlfriend have been collecting stars for over a few months now. Not rushing. It's our first play through it's my favourite game of all time. Also I just got a 3DSXL so playing 3D world for the first time. It's like Xmas. ❤
I'm going to be honest: I didn't like Super Mario 3D World! It was just too easy when I played it, it felt just "simple" nothing to great but nothing to bad, just kind of meh. And why exactly was Bowser kidnapping fairy's? did it explain that? I'm also more of a 3D fan and it felt a bit more 2D then it was 3D. I just felt a little...Mediocre. But I had a BLASH with Super Mario Odyssey! The 3D open worlds! The capture mechanics! The moves! The Music! It reminded me of one of my favorite games: Super Mario 64!

Mario odyssey obviously beats 3d world and MORE SONGS you actually have to listen to the music before rating it! Odyssey also just has better graphics and way better bosses. Cappy also unlocked almost infinite movement options! Also in 3d world everyone is just a furry.

I loved Odyssey, it left me wanting to 100% the game, and I did twice. 3D World is good, but it never clicked with me, I never actually completed it because I just forgot it existed.

The hate for 3D World is unjustified. I agree that Odyssey was more fun but 3D World was not far behind and still enjoyed it more than most other Mario games. I feel like since 3D World was first released on the Wii U and most people didn’t have a Wii U but got a Switch instead
both are brilliant games, there’s no doubt about it. i don’t think it’s possible to say which is better, because that comes down to personal preference.

3D world to me is just like 2D obviously being 3D
I’m not going to lie, I don’t like Mario Odyssey. Sure the movement felt fantastic and the cappy mechanics were cool, but it felt like they focused on just that and said to hell with the rest of the game. The moons are in such brain dead and obvious locations that in my first play through I kept finding them without even trying to. And there are so many of them to get and not a single one of them was fun to go after. Not to mention that Mario just looked complete out of place in this game. None of the areas resembled anything we have seen in any Mario game before, which wouldn’t have been a bad thing if they executed it properly, but they didn’t. It felt like they were just taking areas from other games and dragging and dropping mario into them. One thing I can give this game is that gameplay itself does feel amazing, but when the rest of the game doesn’t even feel like a Mario game it just doesn’t do it for me. I also liked that in previous 3D Mario games going after certain Stars or Shines or whatever would slightly change the level or the route you have to take, Mario Galaxy using that idea the most. Also the stars had some actual challenge to collecting. Meanwhile power moons are more common than coins. All this to say, I don’t think this game is bad, I just did not enjoy it whatsoever compared to previous releases. This was kind of the start of the whole “every game needs to be as open as breath of the wild” trend and to be honest I’m not a fan of it.

I never liked Odyssey… It has confusing controls and buttons combinations are too similar with each other for drastically different moves. Probably it's because they designed it to be playable with Joycons (6 buttons, 2 joystick) instead of a full controller (8 buttons, D-pad, 2 joysticks). Anyway, I will always hate to play this game but love to watch it.
