- A storm chaser captured the moment a semi-truck slammed into his vehicle on Friday as strong storms hit southeastern Nebraska. At least five deaths were confirmed over the weekend as a result of a severe storm that swept through the heartland.

Best thing to do at high speeds is don't try to correct your self at high speeds. A lot of people over correct and flip
Notice it sliding sideways afterwards, a distinct lack of control

The original had a cute flying cow, but those Darn animal activists threw a fit. We almost couldn't use the truck, because the truckers humane society got all huffy. But we finally convinced them that no trucks were harmed in the making of this scene.

That was a Rookie Driver. In storms like that you Stop, Pull Over and Hunker Down in your Sleeper. To do otherwise could kill people, as what almost occurred here

@@xaiano794He’s probably referring to the semi. But more than likely they were trying to get away from the tornado. You don’t hunker down when an EF3 is headed right at you. You move out of its path.

Slow down if you are in wind, it helps. But sometimes it does'nt matter. If you are in a semi... pull over and make your cab and trailer a V .. turn your cab away from the wind and and °45 it. It will be extremely hard for the wind to move you. 🍀

That came so close to being a lot worse.
Truck drivers know when the wind is hitting them because of the way they are turning the wheel to stay on the road, and i know he was empty and driving too fast for conduct with the wind with that speed. DRIVER AREA 100% PERVENTABLE

I'm just glad I wasn't on the roads that day. It came on fast. Once you get on one of those highways it's sometimes a long way to shelter.

I can't tell you how many times I have seen this happen. As an OTR truck driver. I've seen a lot of this. The winds get so bad up there. It'll blow a truck over like nothing. Bad thing is there's absolutely nothing a driver can do to save it.

Storm chaser I'm guessing
Winds knock over trucks without tornados. The most bipolar I have ever seen a patrolman act is when signs were posted that high winds were possible. A truck was tipped over and a patrolman ran up to the cabin asking if the driver if he was okay. Once the driver was out and laying down the patrolman let him have it. Cussing him out about not heeding the high wind warning. Then he went back into medical mode and started checking the drivers ABC's until the ambulance came.
Lucky to be alive I think the wind thrust coming towards the truck pushed it away from tragedy

This was on highway 34 between waverly and ashland. Ef3 tornado april 26th. Got pretty wild at our place, had it(tornado) in view on the roof!
