I used to like going in 'The Riverside'. (formally 'Tigers Den). It was ran by Mike and Carol Carter. You could go in there on your own and always be made welcome. Carol would never let anyone be on their own. She would group everyone together and involve them. They made an effort to get to know their regulars. ... Very sociable. Great atmosphere. ... How a pub should be ran, bless them. XX
Used to love the ship inn. Great bands on a Wednesday in the late eighties and a good starter pub on Friday night. Such a shame. This town used to be amazing
i reckon the bluebless was a resteruant tho i used to go an get a 2 pouns soup to take me away from the physical vilence in park lane hostal (run by dan hall :( ... after i came out of 'care' (repton) they didnt chuck me out of the resteruant God bless them
Great piece about Worksop’s bygone ale houses! One that now needs adding is the Flamingo on Kilton Hill (corner of Plantation Hill), would love to see a pic of that as the building has literally gone now
glassman88 watched it, thanks! Many other great additions in part 2 as well, including the Lord Byron at the other end of Plantation Hill, do you know if the building is still there or has that been knocked down as well?
@@geespar1 Sadly it was demolished and is now the site of a Co-op Supermarket if you want to see it there are pictures on the Facebook page "Worksop Past and Present"
glassman88 yes that’s a shame, another great building gone, thanks very much, I’m exploring all you’re stuff on Worksop, have you by any chance got anything on Worksop’s churches?
