as were in the final 38 hours!!!
Trek Shorts - By Fans For Fans! We have launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign! The
Campaign ends on the 30th of November!!
We are thrilled to announce one of our upcoming larger film projects "The Voyage Beyond" a semi
sequel to Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home set in the post TNG era.
A new Whale Probe is headed directly for Romulus, knowing Starfleet dealt with one before the
Romulan Senate asks for assistance. The USS Horizon is the only ship fast enough to intercept the
Probe before any real damage is done.
Now with a second encounter with this mysterious probe imminent, Starfleet has an opportunity for
knowledge they just cant pass up...despite the risks.
Support the Indiegogo to ensure projects like this can be made, these films aren't cheap and we
Apsoluley need our Indiegogo goal to not just finish shooting those in production but to finish telling
our stories.
Donate Today before the campaign timer runs down!

Kudos to everyone who worked on this. I hope this does become a feature-length film.
Hi Christopher,
Thanks! We have nowhere near the budget for a feature film BUT it will be a longer than normal film for us! Its got quite a lot of scope!
If you want to see this and other films finished then consider supporting our Indiegogo which in its final 30 days right now!

I’m continually amazed at the quality of many of these fan-made Trek films.
I wanna predict that the Starfleet ship in question, has a Humpback whale in Cetacean Ops :)
"there be whales here"
Romulan wales? humms.... ;)
You're movies keep getting better and better! Love it!
Oh, Deep Space 12. :) Nice to see it in HD.
Clever. If its exactly 100 years, that is. This would place this story roughly a year before Hobus.
i love the cally class in the background... really gives a touch, I hate when there's less ships flying around making it seem empty, BUT HERE heck yeah ... love that ferengi vessel too!, I say i am curious did you get inspired by JTVFX?, Since he made a similar thing with a fleet approaching the probe and with the same music etc etc..
As far as I am concerned you can never go wrong with a film that has Romulans.
Wow! Looks great.
This looks great, Samuel.
So nice that it is not about earth that's in Danger for a change. Your ship looks awesome in the shot by the way commander.
Deep Space 12! Looking forward to seeing Admiral Shelby take care of this with assistance from Captain Jorian Dao to the rescue when there's some side quest to be resolved which holds the keys to the whole situation. Are the probes all secretly controlled by Siroc? Looking forward to finding out (regardless if it's Hidden Frontier or not).
Wow! What a great little short video!
Why doesn't such excellent work have more views and more likes?
"the fate of the billions" seems like its weirdly worded, other than that, looks really cool, cant wait
Man, im so burned out from doing all this bonus content...didn't even see this and neither did the spell checked, bleh!
Hopefully this trailer will get a few more Indiegogo donations as we really are in need of the support and i put a tremendous amount of time into these!

Romulan #1: "What did the humans do last time that disabled all their ships?"
Romulan #2: "Fly right at it."
Romulan #1: "Great. Let's do that."
Fantastic Samuel! 😀
This is sure going to be better than good.
Self destruct..."when that much matter and antimatter come together they'll go up and take that thing with them!".
Star Trek The one with the whales II: The Wrath of Whales!
I'm intrigued. Is the Romulan whale sushi industry about to tank? Only time will tell.
Also nice seeing the Horizon put to use. Always thought it was one of the best looking fan designs(especially if you have a warp nacelle fetish😁). I love the way the primary and secondary hulls blend together so organically, almost like a stingray or something.
deep space 12 oh my god YES
Looking great Sir
I got real shivers watching it! WOW!
"it's course" - it is course?
Its. ITS course.
ok :) but what did you think of the trailer?
If you want to see more films, consider supporting us on Indiegogo! We only have 37 hours left to go and were trying to hit £15,000 before the end!! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2022-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
Should read "ITS course is Romulus."
I didn't expect to see DS12 from Hidden Frontier ever again. I loved HF and its spin-offs so it's good to see some of that stuff again. Of course seeing Romulan Warbirds and a Prometheus class starship is also awesome. Didn't Cpt. Hunter just fetch some whales in a runabout? Mmh, I guess the Prometheus class has to bring them to Romulus! 😉
Hey!! Yes! We are thrilled that Rob passed along DS12 to us to include in some of our stories, while HF is not canon..(as it conflicts with Picard and such) DS12 we wanted to be canon!.
Not a Prometheus but our custom designed (By Rich Sternbach and director Samuel Cockings) Ship, the USS Horizon! She was featured in A Long Way From Home.
Yes...so...i didnt know he wrote that when we shot this LOL Bit funny aye!
This is one of our larger and more expensive films and were REALLY excited to see what people think of it!
Yes, it was great to see DS12, wasn't it?
Well, technically speaking, all fan films are non-canon.
@@ChristinaMoore79 But some of us have a canon to eachother :D
@@ChristinaMoore79 So great! I'm really thrilled to bring it back for the fans!
Watch Starfleet dropp a Dolphin or two in someone's Backyard-pool on Romulus!!! 🐬 LOL!
I love the wale ship just like v'ger because the design was truely alien and not just a common ship design
indeed though the Whale probe dosent rely on weapons compared to the Whale Probe's destruptive communications jamming device
You brought back my fave Rouman vessel, the Valdore Class warbird from Nemesis.... Thank You ❤❤❤
"ITS" course is Romulus.
Interesting ship design. Not quite a Prometheus, not quite a Dauntless, not quite a Nova.
Thanks! I co-designed it with the legendary Rick Sternbach!
ua-cam.com/video/qN_SZ78kktc/v-deo.html
A detailed look at the design here :D
Change the Probe's sound call...it was meant for Humpback Whales and there are none of those on Romulus.
Otherwise an interesting premise, hoping to see it soon.
Keep it up!!
Yes it was! :) But we dont know what there after on Romulas, they may communicate in the same way.
Some how, many humanoids in the Galaxy speak English (even without ythe translator) and we accept it.
To change the truley iconic sounds of the probe would be to rob a big part of the art design.
Plus...you dont know if there going after Romulan Native whales? :)
That starship had better be carrying George and Gracie’s grandkid otherwise the Romulans are up qazh creek
Giggidy!
What a great concept! What a great ship design! And proper special effects, not Nu Trek.
Right.....let's see more of this.
We've already filmed about 75% of this film and have 7 unique films released in 2022 alone! Check them out!
I hope the starfleet ship is crewed by one hell of whale!
Super impressive!
There is a Star Trek audiobook called The Probe read by James Doohan.
Yes there is! But is a lot of book "canon" and a lot of it gets a bit weird. We chose just to use the Star Trek 4 movie canon for this :D
@@SGUDistantHope All right. 👍🖖
Good. But I think is should be "ITS COURSE", not "IT'S COURSE". Also, the "..." in "... ROMULUS" should not exist, this should either be a dramatic pause until a "romulus" text or some pan on the planet. But again, good stuff.
Same with "one ship, one crew", btw.
And same with "the fate of the billions, hang in the balance". Better make it "the fate of billions" without "the" and get rid of that comma.
But then again, good stuff all in all, Sam!
@@slighter that was my suggested edit, fully agreed.
Thanks :) Glad you liked the trailer.
Fair enough on the other stuff :) At least the CGI looked good and the edit was solid, that's the important stuff.
Support us on Indiegogo if you want to see more films! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2022-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
I can understand a dampening field shutting down an antimatter reactor but not a quantum singularity which powers Romulan vessels.
Id assume its overloading the power conduits and such, even if its not stopping the engine it can stop stop the pipes from working :D
Ah, the over-nacelled Horizon gets to do the job in this one. I'll be looking forward to your explanation for why the probe is going to Romulus -- I assume there's some species of Romulan whales (or other creature) they're looking for this time, since Spock clearly stated in STIV that humpbacked whales were indigenous to Earth.
Yep! This is one of our longest films so...lots of story...twists and turns and YES Horizon love finally!!!!!!
Yeah that’s my question too. This probe was sent to earth to contact the whales did it maybe high Jackd by another race? I am curious. 🖖
Love it!!
I wonder if the events of Star Trek Odyssey still happened in this series?
If so, would the Odyssey have been the Prototype Odyssey-Class rather than the Allegiance-Class that it was in the original?
I remember watching Odyssey and it was brilliant, The story and characters were phenomenal, even if the effects were a bit dated, it was still tons of fun.
Sorry no, we stick to the show cannon and the canon of our fan film partners like Starship: Intrepid.
Sorry!
Cool 😎!!
Thanks James!! If you want to support our films, we are in the final day and a bit of our Indiegogo! Any support will go a long way!
www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2022-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
I like the idea, and ope this project succeeds, but was expecting the roms in the beginning to blow up. Don't they use contained singularities for their power source?
BTW, excellent graphics! I now look forward to seeing the actors do their thing. It's somewhat rare to find amateur actors who can create a persona that truly draws people into the story line. Wishing you QPLAH'!
It seems that humans aren't the only species in the galaxy that sometimes handle their environmental problems badly, but I think we averted an environmental crisis when we started seriously protecting the humpback whale. But we've got thousands of species that are endangered and that we need to protect. The question is, will we?
This would be a great movie
Thanks Cory! We've already filmed about 75% of it...it was a super fun shoot! Lots of awsome and creative space CGI to bring to the fans!
@@SGUDistantHope awesome! I can't wait to check it out. I grew up in the era the original came out so I'd love more story on the probe. Great stuff! 😃😄😁
Brilliant :)
If this is post Hobus event (star trek 2009) , shouldn't the Romulan warbirds be a different design that shows warbirds doubling as Arcologies ?
Nope! we avoid post Hobus, we want a more unified galaxy for our stories.
This takes place i think 5 years after Nemesis, after Horizons 3 year mission which was launched the same year as Nemesis.
The hype is real! Can't wait
Outstanding work!
Oooh, now this looks intriguing! :D
Hey thanks!!! Indeed! Its one of our larger films, quite a bit larger budget and we LOVED shooting it!
Has some nice twists and turns and currently stands at 55 space shots!!
We really tried to make a cohesive and logical follow up, another probe is back...its been 100 years...how do we approach this as Starfleet! LOTS of fun!
Looks amazing!
This is awesome keep it up!
This looks interesting can't wait to see it.
Thanks Trent!! If you want to support our films, we are in the final day and a bit of our Indiegogo! Any support will go a long way!
www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2022-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
God damn that thing got 6 nacelles
Yep! Its an extreme deep range explorer with an advanced warp drive system that means that, with its many primary/secondary and more warp coils it can share the warp field generation between them. This creates a very stable field and puts less stress on each nacelle allowing for VERY long warp trips vs most other ships!
For more details on the ship! ua-cam.com/video/qN_SZ78kktc/v-deo.html
@@SGUDistantHope THERE'S EIGHT OF THEM???
@@KamepinUA Well...8 sets of warp coils but 2 sets aren't intended to actually "jump to warp" (although they can). Its all part of their brand new long range warp propulsion systems.
Already looks like a better movie than the last 4
Is this the same crew who made the Hidden Frontier series? Seeing all familiar settings. Or is it set in the same universe?
Hiya Rhron,
It is not, although Rob Caves passed along his DS12 station which we are proud to bring back to live in a few of our shorts.
We are also not in the HF universe because there are a lot of political things which they did which cant link up with what came later in Picard/Lower Decks/Prodigy and we stick to the canon thats seen on screen as much as we can.
BUT Nick Cook joins us as Daniel Hunter (canon to his own Intrepid Show) And DS12 will appear but the final will be a little different design (Just a little updated)
We have had 6 films out this year and 20+ more films in production with only 37 hours left on our Indiegogo! Please support if you are able!

This is maximul we're going off to earth to pick up some hump back wails me engage
yeh! sTra war!
Eh?
The Prope was not hostile.
It don't know what it had done.
It was send from a unkown Origin to search humpback whals they exist only on earth.
And this whales was the only one they can answer the questions.
A another point, this prope is since this event not unkown yet, its neutralizing effect too.
The Romulans don't so stupid and forgot that and send ships to encounter it.
What search the prope now on Romulus, a native whale like species?
And a single ship with his crew can't be stop what J.T. Kirk can't stopped.
I hope it is not a copy of the Voyage Home Story, that would realy lame.
The Visual Effects are pretty good.
The Prope and the Romulan Warbirds looks awsome.
Of course, its Samuel Cockins and he is damn good! ^^
But the Heroship....looks like a tiny version of the Prometheus class with Nova class ellements.
And 6 Warpnacells?
I think it can seperate in 3 ships and has the multivector attack mode, correct?
100 years later, it's has no apostrophe! It's possessive not a contraction of it is. And the comma is unnecessary. Looks great apart the grammar mistakes.
Once again, the production quality is excellent - cant wait for the finished product
Great trailer; too bad the typos and bad grammar make it look amateurish.
Hit me up if u need a script writer. I write for a trek fan audio series on UA-cam
let it destroy romulus and the star empire then no more problem
These Fanprojects allways fail for me when it comes to real Sets and Actors, the CGI is really good enough, but the reallife scenes are allways looking cheese and cheap. I hope Fans will improve this and not only CGI, because CGI means nothing if the actors, sets and cinematographie isnt right.
Hello! Thanks for watching.
Cheap? We have a budget of around $1000 per episode and most of that goes to travel/hotel/costume expenses per shoot. Most fan films are on this or lower, its almost impossible to not look "cheap" when you are a low budget project because...you have to spend the money in only a few essential places to actually make the shoot happen.
We don't have the budget or space for real sets, so we work with green screen which allows us to do a massive variety things where other projects are limited to a few simple walls. going Green screen also allows us to be far more visually diverse with our cinematography as all our sets are full 360 with large scale and depth, vs a partial set with limited angles of a real set.
Its not perfect but, for our budget its ambitious and the fans aphreisate the quality.
If we had 50,000 per episode as Star Trek Continues then we would certainly strive for a higher polish but that is never going to happen.
We are very proud of our actors, check out some of our recent films, very pleased with the cast we have.
Yea, the IT IS COURSE thing kinda ruined this....
At :40 - its, its, its, its, its !!! NOT “it’s.” This is a jarring mistake and makes you look like high school English dropouts. It’s (see …proper use there) not that hard to proofread!
It’s = contraction for “it is.”
Its = possessive of the pronoun “it.”
The worst star trek movie ever...I'd rather hear Spock sing again.
