I owned a Evinrude E-TEC, by far the best outboard motor there is. easy start every time, very smooth running, the best fuel economy, lots of power, I would not own anything else. If you are a person that has owned a few different outboard motors give a E-Tec a try you will be glad you did.
Wonder if there a concern with leaks into the side panels of the engine when you come to a hard stop shown at 1:09? Heard the side panels attach via quarter turn fasteners.
If Evinrude gave all yall one straigh from the factory, and told you that it is yours. I bet you all would think twice about the sh$t that yall said. Bet yall thought the samething when laptop and touchscreen came out.
I have a 70 horse Yamaha 1996 outboard motor okay it will crank and run fine as long as you don't give it no gas but when you try to give it all the gas it dies okay to run like the wind if you just put the choke down just a little bit and then let it go in and out running and then and keep writing and I can you put it in neutral again and do the same thing about going again any help would be greatly appreciated
Get over the looks (it's different, ok we got that, so was the horseless carriage) and take a real good look at the engineering and the factors that make it completely unique. It is very compelling to consider when re-powering. Fuel efficiency, torque, anti corrosive properties, all blow any other engine out of the water. 5 years, 500 hours? Get real people. Performance is what you want, this has it.
honestly it's the best engine out there whatever & who say so. i use to own a yamaha, than merc now i own a used evinrude(evil) 225hp. there is no better 4stroke n 2stroke i know can compare to this mean evil. the down side, need to spent more money on oil but so much less on maintenance. honestly i spent thousands on both my ex 4stroke after 2yrs yrs. 2stroke has much drag power compare to 4stroke. fuel consumptions both are no diff at all. thirsty like hell. evinrude has the vry lo consumption on idling compare to my yamaha. just wish the G2 comes to my country cheap. my ex merc(8yrs) i can only hit about 56km/h. with my 225hp etec(8yrs) i hit 68km/h top. boat 23' striper(1'400kg). peace n out
Every new design is gonna receive criticism, no matter what it's for. However, I know for a fact that the Etec outboard is the only outboard in the world that can be run inside an enclosed show room floor in the state of California. There isn't a 4 stroke that can claim this. That's how clean these things run. Plus I don't see 4 strokes offering 5 yrs. or 500 hours with no maintenance. Etecs can also be winterized and summerized at the dock by the owner. No can do with a 4 stroke. To each their own. If you're a Mercury or Yamaha fan, there is no need for you to watch this video. Personally I like it.
Well said, Steve. A pro has fishing friend runs only Evinrudes, and he lives them. He's running a 250 HP ETec on his 21' bass boat now. He's had zero problems! Said he'd run a 300 HP if tournaments allowed it! That boy likes speed, and reliability.
On first look I was put off by the pork chop shape design. However, it is growing on me. The fact that you can color change the motor to match your rig is an attractive feature.
When I order my E-tec I will order a Mercury black one and write Voom Voom Verado on the side and I will be fast on the water like the other E-tecs and all the Mercury lovers will like me too !!! ..... I outta patent that idea !!
I get it, I think. Supposed to suggest the comic book character, The Flash ? I hope it is fast, because it is really ugly hanging off the rear of that fine looking boat. I predict a short life, and a new marketing team at Evinrude.
I own 2 boats, one with a merc and the other an E tec and I love em both. But no boat of mine is going to have that ugly fuckin thing on it! I'm going with merc on the next one
Does evinrude really expect to sell those things? I can't believe that BRP has lasted This Long though.. I thought for sure fisher price or craftsman or somebody would own them by now.... And NO, Kenneth I would not have one of these if evinrude did give me one, I Promise !! nothing that looks like that will ever be on the back of my boat... I'm Mercury PRO XS and if for some reason I couldn't get a mercury it would be a Yamaha SHO.. Never an E-Tec.. Looks like a 9 volt battery with a lower unit.
Nope they are not,the 1st generation of the E Tec had less emissions than the 4 strokes...Why is a 2 Stroke a thing of the past? Has less parts and it is very advanced now and burns fuel effeciently ..If a 2 Stroke is outdated a 4 stroke is also ..
You are correct. Mercury and Yamaha have a few 2 strokes left in their line. They realize where the market is going. Mercury and Yamaha are building 4 strokes that are lighter, more fuel efficient, quieter, and as fast or faster than these 30 year old engines that BRP sells. As far as moving parts, check out the complexity of the Etec system.
Robert Diehl "If a 2 stroke is outdated a 4 stroke is also".... LMAO, even BRP snowmobiles are now 4 stroke, BRP PWC are 4 stroke (4-tec). 2 strokes are the lamest, most obsolete engines one can buy.
arotom Thanks allot friend.. A 2 stroke has no large head, intake or exhaust valves, cam shaft, pushrods, timing chain or belts...It is on the compression stroke every time the piston goes up and that gives it a quicker rev on take off .. On the E Tec the oil is pressurized and goes through the crankcase and then is mixed at the correct ratio with fuel and then is properly injected...The engine is lubricated consistently with new oil unlike a 4 stroke that holds the same oil until the next change .The advancements are so numerous now unlike the older 2 stokes with carbs. The specs are so good and has no raw fuel or oil coming out of the exhaust.. 4 strokes are great also and have came along way but the extra added parts just make them heavier with a bit more maintenance in the long run..
Can't wait for the G2s to make it down to the In-lines. When they do it'll be time to upgrade my 2004 E-TEC 90. Way to go BRP!!!
🤣

Newton Washinton how many hours and how is it holding up?
Best at blowing up as well lol🤣
Junk
Best engines on the market!
agree hands down!
Seven marine is a lot better.
@@TS-yn9ey seven marine makes big motors, these were a different class
@@8ei959 how so
@@SkiRacingOz they blow up like crazy they are out of business . You can't hardly give a used boat away that has one ...
MY GOD that thing sounded like a 6-71 Detroit Diesel at idle
amazing motor! wish I had one right now. I would be using that thing all day all night if I could ;)
Nope. It would blow up before night came.
+Mr Cut Lawn Care I'm fairly sure it wouldn't but ok
Mr. Cut Lawn Care, LLC what type of 2 cycle oil are you using?
Other people hate the looks I actually really like it
Wonder if there a concern with leaks into the side panels of the engine when you come to a hard stop shown at 1:09? Heard the side panels attach via quarter turn fasteners.
THIS is the REAL, TRUE Game changer
what's up with the vacuum cleaner hose????
A little over 3 sec. to plane is pretty good.
coolest looking motor ever!!!
Sits very low in the water, probably more the hull design?
This thing looks badass. It's time to move away from the standard shape all motors are conforming to lately.

Translated to polish.. of course!... oczywiście!

+Dave Robbins L O L! sounds like a salesman's _pitch_
Well, I'm no salesman, just a boater who does his research. At least I don't just judge on appearance.
It's still ugly.
butlerproman yes it is
That thing looks horrible, and is very noisy. 4 strokes are much better.

hi is Evinrude E-TEC G2 good engines bc ather videos says agen Evinrude E-TEC G2 is bad engines and i dont know what to be leve and what engine to buy
Why the need for a 250 hp on a bass boat, are you that much in a rush?
Time is money in Tournament Fishing
How fast in MPH will it go?
Faster than a Streaked Ape™.
A high performance 250 as well

It's not an entirely new shape, it looks similar to the old "tower or power" mercury outboards of the 80s and 90s.
On first look I was put off by the pork chop shape design. However, it is growing on me. The fact that you can color change the motor to match your rig is an attractive feature.

Austin Chapman seems like that is the general consensus. Seeing it in person helps a lot too!
Yes, kind of similitude... but man, it's the ugliest engine cover ever designed !
Austin Chapbx. Bbmccsvghadsjbhsad
Other than that they are both outboard motors, I fail to see similarities?!?
Is that the "Hyper Silver" panel color?
Couldn't tell you.

The Best money can buy
Top speed ?
You can easily get to speeds over 70 mph with an Evinrude 250 E-TEC G2 pushing a Ranger.
is it electric
No, it's not electric but you can check out the details here: www.flwoutdoors.com/fishing-articles/156167/evinrude-reveals-the-g2/#.U63XJKiKyP9
Damn your engine gets wet in a ranger.
lets make it a submarine
2023 and they are out of business.. who would of thought?
This looks like an old Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner. What attachments come with. So I guess one could say Evinrude sucks.
It doesn't matter what colour you paint a turd, it will remain a turd.
Hey dyno, you have to be a Yamaha, Mercury, or some such dealer to be coming to every Evinrude video and posting bad about it. Classless.
Seems like everything BPR touches goes to the front of the pack in short order.
The Best outboard of all outboard
Not even close 😂
man i know the motor is good etc. but that cover doesn't cut it. go merc!!!
I would live to drop this 2 stroke v6 in a 68 olds 442.
I get it, I think. Supposed to suggest the comic book character, The Flash ? I hope it is fast, because it is really ugly hanging off the rear of that fine looking boat. I predict a short life, and a new marketing team at Evinrude.

very noise and smoke smell at idle...never more

They make some lemons for outboards but sea doo, ski doo, can am, and rotax are all good products
batteries store power idiot
OMC = Out of business motor company
This didn’t age well
Looks like a mistake!
There out of buesness now
Mercury still whoops Evinrude no matter if its new or not Evinrude a waste of money
Looks kinda slow 250 yamaha
WATER ENGINE HOLE
Mercury forever because its better
OMC was good in their day. BRP sure aint done the Evinrude and Johnson name any justice. Now If Mercury built them they'd be damn good.
What kind of shitty 80s robocop design is this? This is the ugliest outboard engine I have ever seen.
That looks like a damn refrigerator, no thanks!
,
gasoline drainer!!!
how can you say that? have you ever owned one, didnt your mother tell you to shut up if you dont know what you are talking about
shut up
uses less fuel than any 4 stroke on the marked
arotom That statement is subjective, 4 strokes have just as good EPA emission ratings, plus your 2 stroke burns oil, and 4 strokes dont.
This is gonna be the biggest joke of a motor ever if it gets put up against an xs it Is gonna be put to shame!!
my dads old 1999 115 mercury has almost as good torque
Sure it does.
Were you high when you wrote this
Idk lol
