This is a story about a blind man, Shim, and his daughter, Shimcheong. The folktale emphasizes filial piety as Shimcheong shows this trait many times throughout the story to her advantage. It's a bit of a sad story but it ends happily. Story of Shimcheong appears as a motif in K-pop and K-dramas as well. One of the most recent examples of K-pop is Hwasa's song TWIT, which mentions Shimcheong's name in the lyrics.
