    A few folk have asked about the equipment I use to record my videos and how I get the buttery smooth shots - I’d like to say it’s me but alas it’s not me - it’s the equipment.
    Below is what I use:
    Main Camera: Panasonic HC-VX1 4K: amzn.to/2RHRJAo This never lets you down and produces great wide stunning shots in 4K
    Second Camera: GoPro Hero Black 7: amzn.to/2PufdHg This IS THE camera if you have an allotment. It is by far the best and easiest to use - video is stunning!!!
    Third Camera: Note 9: amzn.to/2L588MV If I have no camera and need video… this is a great video caperture phone - 4K is stunning.
    Main Mic: RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Microphone - Black: amzn.to/2PsuTe2 The quality is unmatched.
    Second Mic: Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone: amzn.to/2L3DBPq Back up if the wind is too great
    Indoor Mic: PR 40: amzn.to/2PrZI2F Omph - if you are going into this for real - audio is even more important that video. This mic is a dream sound.
    27” iMac: amzn.to/2B1VVE6 I have used Macs all my life - not one has let me down. Rock solid with rock solid software. I use Apple’s Final Cut Pro
    Main Tripod: K & F Concept Tripod: amzn.to/2L3HKmw I have tried all so many tripods some way way more expensive. This one is great, lightweight… but opens tall enough to still get me in the shot and I am 6” 4”!
    Second Tripod (for GoPro Hero 7) Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom: amzn.to/2L5vRMS This is the idea tripod when in allotment as you can stick it anywhere and record great shots
    Light: Neewer 176 LED 5600K: amzn.to/2B5Dy0U I use this all the time now great for dull days (we get lots of those).

    You might try putting a temporary brace in the middle. So, you can stand in the middle and carry the box by the brace. Then remove it once in place

    Use a deep pile roller to apply the stain, works a lot faster on there, plus you get more even coverage. Just finished painting a steel cabinet, used a short pile small roller to do the paint, and it was quick to apply the small 250ml can of hammered finish paint to it. Old roller, well used, so it was the last job for it, as I ran out of the special thinners to clean the roller, and anyway have a spare one already.
    Now you have the raised beds, you can put a small hothouse array over each of them, made from clear HDPE sheet, to get faster growing times and a saving on water, plus keeping the pests at bay.

    Tony What can I say? what a legend. I have been watching all the old videos and new of course you are so funny, please keep making your daily update videos I love watching them.😀😂 I have had some good tips from your channel. I am 37 years old and have 3 children and have put my name down for a allotments plot near me, can't wait for me and the kids to get down there and start growing properly. Thanks again take care

    Tony I've been watching your channel for 6 months or so and you're an inspiration mate. My allotment finally came through this week and I'm just about to start doing some raised beds on it! Do you mind if I ask if you used anything special to paint them with? I'm a bit worried about accidentally using something that kills plants or something!

    Thanks Tony, i recently got reclaimed scaffolding boards, got screws, must get the support wood for the corners, hinges joints are expensive here, so on search for them at a reasonable price, great video,fantastic beds, very encouraging i must say. Thankyou you a breath of fresh air and get the gardening bug awakened each video i watch of yours.

    If you line them with pond liner they will last twice as long. Also used scaffolding planks from a salvage yard last longer and are cheaper.

    This video was so helpful. Taking on another plot which I have found out has a horse tail weed problem. With heavy duty ground cover and raised beds like yours may slow down the problem. I’m hopeful 😀

    Such a great job Tony, and so fast! The hubby helped me with my recent raised beds, not a square angle in the whole lot and it was tough. I wonder if it could have been easier on you if you made them by a square of only one board high at a time, stain it, then put into the final garden resting place and do the final assembly of the three stories then? It certainly would have been less heavy. Take care of that shoulder and back! It looks really great.

    Do you live in one of those houses that are in the background of the videos? It must be great to be able to see all the growing that goes on over the seasons in the allotments. I think a couple of chairs is a good idea. We never painted nor stained our raised beds as it was pressure treated timber and they are starting to go green, is it too late now to stain them.? Great work you've done to make all those terrific beds but you should've had a bit of help. Keep safe and regards from Northern Ireland.

    Any idea of a rough costing for them? I’m going to casually drop this into my hubbys playlist lol (I’d only want two) 🙂

    • @TonyCSmith
      @TonyCSmith  5 років тому +1

      At a push I'd say 30 to 40 per bed. I found the thicker wood you can get the better. These were decking planks. Not the ones you walk on but what goes underneath.

      I'm hoping at least five year but deep down putting my money on 10 years. It's all treated plus I added loads of weather stain as well.

    • @TonyCSmith
      @TonyCSmith  5 років тому

      What are 'pallet collars' Paul?

    • @JohnnoLammy
      @JohnnoLammy 5 років тому +1

      Hi Mucker
      Pallet collars are made of wood obviously but come already made in the shape of a slight oblong shape roughly 4ft by about 5 1/2 ft which fit around pallets making sure nothing falls off the pallet, they collapse so quite easy to get away from work..... Ha ha ha ...

      Hey Rob I used decking boards (not what you walk on but boards the go underneath decking). I went to Lustrum in Sunderland. Not sure of the spelling.
