Wow! Amazing! My 5 yr old is in love with all things Ghostbusters. He's been bugging me to crochet a proton pack and ghost trap (out of yarn 😲) so not gonna happen. I have been looking into maybe possibly making one out of cardboard but everything is so detail and looks like it would take forever. Too much time for a mama of 3 young ones. I also have to make 2 of them then eventually a third one when the 12 month old hits the GB loving age. Just wish I could buy some budget friendly lightweight ones already completed for my kiddos. Heck maybe when my son turns 10 we can make this together. Anywaysb mama ramble over. Again amazing job.
if you go to spirit Halloween's website they do have a kid sized finished proton pack, for 69$. Now i don't know if you would consider that very cheap, but it's definitely the cheapest one you're going to find. here's a link; www.spirithalloween.com/product/light-up-deluxe-replica-proton-pack-ghostbusters/150401.uts?Extid=sf_froogle

Nice build, in the first move there are a few scene where they're wearing a foam pack, most notably when Stay Puft is climbing the building Venkman leans against a wall when they're talking about Stay Puft being a sailor in New York and you can see the pack flex inwards.
wow best proton pack build. I built a smaller model for my son using a hard styrofoam with lightweight joint compound over it. Im gonna build one like this for me.
I love this build and I have questions! The video moves a little too quickly to tell, but how did you tighten the bolts on the L-brackets to secure the Synchronous Generator to the Motherboard? I see you do a lot of measuring to locate the holes for the bolts, but I can't figure out how you kept the bolts from spinning as you tightened the nuts on the outside of the SG. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Also, did you have issues with the V-Clip tearing off the outside of the pack and how sturdy is the proton gun? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!

Eric Lindenberg I hear ya loud and clear on that man. I'm currently trying to finish up my containment unit, converting the sound effects in my matty pke, installing sound effects in my MT500, just started building my 2008 Ecto Magnum earlier this week, and now thanks to your video I'm now inspired to whip up 2 more proton packs which will probably begin this evening lol.
Eric Lindenberg finally! I built one based off of this video and I must say it turned out great, but I couldn’t figure out what that was so I just used mod podge and that worked. I thought it was some kind of epoxy to make the shell super hard
Eric: AMAZING job! What is your educational background? Did you come up with the electronics for this or did they offer the schematics, too? You MUST be an engineer, even with plans, because it didn't appear you had much if any leftover scrap. I'll definitely check out your channel and sub. Again, well done!
Thank you so much for your kind words. The electronics are a third-party kit, so (fortunately) just some basic soldering was required. I'm an executive in a technology firm -I do builds as a hobby; no engineering background (I don't have the patience for it). I'm delighted to have you as a subscriber. You can also follow me on my Facebook page at facebook.com/CrazyEricProjects/
Was just asking this question myself. He linked to a forum on GBFans that answered some questions. Turns out, it's styrene. He goes on to say he'll likely replace it with MDF. Probably a good call as styrene has a lot of flex, and you want that baby to be well, stiff as a board.
What are these "plans" you speak of? Go away, your plans have no power here. Hoping I have mine done in time for Halloween this year. I am trying to learn electronics basics just so I can wire the damn cyclotron light sequence myself but so far no good. I can make them all light up at once but that's not the right look.
This video was such a HUGE help in building my own pack. Thank you so much for detailing your process. I probably watched this video 50 times while building mine.
In part 1, the 4 actors were complaining about the excessive 30 LBS + of weight for long shooting hours since they were made of welded metal ect. Theres even parts in the movie that you see Bill Mauray slautching because of all the consecutive hours of shooting the movie with all that weight on thier backs. THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU, IT WOULD OF SOLVED ALL THAT. BECAUSE PERSONALLY, I SEE NO DIIFERENCE IN LOOKS. EVEN THE WELDINGS, YOU MADE THE GLUE LOOK LIKE REAL MACHINED WELDING FOR PART ASSEMBALLY. YOUR A KING CONGRADULATINS. (I cant ggive my opinion on any sounds that your pack does if there are any, since at the momment, your video cauht my attention so fast and in a rivoting state of "ahhhh!", that I was stuck being amazed at your talent, even before having a chance to install my SOUND-DRIVER!, -Since I just plugged in my Pc to a new spot. Thanks for the amazement! Your one hell of a KING!
I did a very similar build for my two packs, using the foam board is a great way to build the various boxes on the pack. For extra durability, I added a layer of thermoplastic over the foam board, which keeps it a bit safer from weather and bumping into things. One suggestion that I would give is to add some wood from the base of the motherboard up into the Ion Arm, to help prevent it being knocked off (which I have seen happen to many foam-based packs). Plus another piece of wood under the Gun Mount when you attach a V-hook to it to keep the weight of your wand from tearing the hook off the pack.
What I would give to have my very own film-accurate proton pack replica. Except mine would have the padded shoulder straps that were rarely seen of a couple scenes of Ghostbusters 2 so they would feel more relaxing on my shoulders.
Question what did you use for the motherboard? Trying to build a foam pack of my own but its a custom build that is larger than the tradition pack making me have to make one from scratch.
If anyone's wondering how thick the EVA foam mats are, I eyeballed it and they look like they are 1/2 an inch thick. (EDIT: I reached out to him and it turns out that they were actually 1/4 inch thick. I personally used 1/2 inch thick foam and it worked out okay, albeit a little tough to cut and bend into shape. )
LOL, now that is how you do it! Superb job sir.
Great awesome workmanship Bro, luv it, luv that Proton Pack, so awesome . . 😎
Amazing build my friend!
Dude please do a thrower build for the pack that would be awsome

I think Spirit Halloween carries them but don't know about the price. I've seen inflatable ones in Halloween stores before.
Spirit's proton pack is great. You can get it with a coupon for under $60. Yeah, pretty spendy for a 5 year old... but it's very nice.

Go to a spirit store on Nov 1st(like right when they open most likely) if they have a pack in stock it will be 50% off
for being made out of foam, that looks amazing.
Thank you!
Eric Lindenberg
going to build my first pack soon so I'm looking at how others construct their packs and maybe make a hybrid
Good luck with your build.
Would you be interested in making others like this for a fee?

They did make foam packs with cheap lights for some scenes
A work of art brother! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 wow
wow best proton pack build. I built a smaller model for my son using a hard styrofoam with lightweight joint compound over it. Im gonna build one like this for me.
Excellent job!. Primorous! Authentic!. As we speak in Portuguese here in Brazil: "Chic" too!
I just started planning my own build and I wasn't going to use foam... I'm reconsidering it now.
Absolutely fabulous!
wow really awesome build :D
Great build! Gonna try it :)
Badass my friend.
Nice work man
Looks fantastic. Just missing the Neutrona Wand. I'd imagine the blueprints didn't include plans for it. 10/10.
Some days My Grandson Wants An Idea Color For This Proton Pack. I’m Thinking It Should Be Shining Gold ⚜️
I still have never built my pack. 10 years later. Maybe one day.. sigh.

Eric,
could you do a step by step video on this one??
Are u sealing the pack with elmer’s glue + water?
Where did you find the 1:1 print? I can only find the individual parts
hey bro i know i might be 7 years late but where did you get the blueprint 1:1 proton pack template
Brilliant! What did you pay for all inclusive the lights?
So, exactly how do I print 1:1 scale? Ive never printed blueprints that big before.
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this video and you got a sub from me for sure. You noted that you sealed the pack. What did you use to seal it with?
Bro I can't find a fish named Wanda... how do I substitute this?
What’s the mother board made of? I’m currently trying to find what material it is so I can use it on my own proton pack, thanks
I have the prints, how do you scale them?
What was the white board you’re using? Is it wood or card board?
It's foam core board
is your eva foam, 1" or 1/2"?
hi @Thomas galvin . ive raided the garage for supplies . would a old film canister measuring
18LX4H be big enough for the cyclotron ?
can you make another one ???
How do you make the files print to scale? What did you have to scale the print to?
where did you get the plans and can i get a copy that is awesome
Great, great, great work! I have a question: Which material did you use for the motherboard?
Can someone give me a link to the template please?
How much do you think it cost to put it all together? I'm thinking of getting a head start for next Halloween or something.
That looks great, and very light weight. How much would you charge for one? If you enjoyed making it.
Thanks for the compliment. I'm happy to do commissions. Please contact me via my Facebook page for pricing and details at facebook.com/CrazyEricProjects (and also to see other builds and activities)
This is perfect! Absolutely great work! Kudos to you good sir. How far along are you with the thrower tutorial?
Glad you like it. Unfortunately, too many other projects are in the hopper so nothing on the thrower yet.

This is great! Does anyone know what texturing spray he used? I'm building my own, and would love to know. Great project!
I think it's called black truck bed lining,I'm not sure
What did you use to seal the foam before painting? And what did you make the bumper covering the cyclotron out of? Thanks!!
A 50/50 mixture of Elmer's white glue and water.
cool pack but where the particle thrower

holy shit

Perfect !!! you wholesaler?
Where did you get the LEDs?
How much to have one made and shipped in the states?
How did you get those lights?
No wand?
How much did this cost to toss together?
More pictures and cost estimates can be viewed at www.gbfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42211
how can i get the plans?
I like Wanda
what was the cost on this

can I get a video that's not in ffw? lol

Why do people charge and pay so damn much for these? They charge in the 2,000s. 500 is a good enough price point. I'd gladly pay 500 for this.
This video was such a HUGE help in building my own pack. Thank you so much for detailing your process. I probably watched this video 50 times while building mine.
You’ve made my day, thanks for letting me know you found the video helpful. Congrats on completing your pack.

I have no idea what you're asking.
I have been inspired! Thank you. Great video!

HA! Just seeing this for the first time 7 years later!
Would you have a version of this video in regular speed?
Just set the speed to 0,25 on the video option box.
What was the type of foam sheet you used that was the first thing when running through Supplies?

This is incredible
Do you sell them
❤️🙏👍🙌👌🔥

❤️
super, i wish i had the patience to do that art
If there are any links or files that I can print out like the ones you used, that would be awesome, gonna go as Egon for Halloween!
Would you ever consider making these and selling them on Etsy?
A fish called Wanda lol loved that part ,never done a build like this but plan on getting this stuff soon hope it turns out half as good as yours
how thick was each tile and how big ? also how thick was the foam board
hello, excuse me how do you go about scaling?
thank
AMAZING!!!!!❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
Amazing job looking forward to the halloween creation.....;)

12mm mdf is what I went with
What about the notreno wand
AMAZING!!!!!❤️🙏👍🙌👌🔥❤️
how to print in 8 pages please
this is amazing!!
pdf pattern where i can find?
WOW!
If i had the money and skill needed to built a homemade Proton Pack I sure as hell wouldn't make it out of foam.
Sniff Heinkel Really? What you make it from?
Il disegno mi servirebbe
you are a god.... awesome work

I LOVE IT
10!!!
As a full-time rock record producer: that bass tone in the first 45 seconds is beyond sick, even if it may be programmed (Djinnbass?) Yuuuuussssss.
Could you please put a parts list of all the parts you used to make this pack? I'm trying to build mine the same way 😂
Nice pack, i'm making my own. I don't think it will be screen based. It may be more of a original design between the video game, movies and cartoon.
what did you do with that block of wood? did it use it to file?
