You did the trip justice. The soundtrack was perfect for this video. I will be doing the same route but in reverse October 4th-6th 2022. Great job. I just subscribed!
Thanks for the memories. The music of John Denver is perfect for your video. I hope you played his music while you were driving. I lived in Aspen for 4 years starting in 1973 at age 22. I spent many weeks at a time hiking all around Independence Pass. As did most locals of those days. John hike around up there often. I knew him and it wasn’t unusual to meet him on the trails. His music fit the life at that time and place.
That was my route to work when I did construction on custom homes back in the day. And in the winter time I would repair roof leaks. Also, there are swimming holes along the highway in the stream and an alpine lake at the top...brings back memories, thanks !!
I really enjoyed watching this. Colorado is a state that's close to my heart, and this video took me back to everything I love about it. Absolutely stunning colors, you got a perfect day for this drive.
I hope you all enjoy the new video I shot this back in the October when the fall colors were at their peak in Colorado. Enjoy the John Denver soundtrack and the ride over one of the tallest mountain passes in North America.
Growing up I would visit my grandma in California... she knew how much I loved the mountains and instead of taking I-40 to Oklahoma she would take different routes... I remember the roads that were winding with rails.... to me that was the best gift she ever gave me and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life☺️❤️
Perfect soundtrack to complement the colorful Fall scenery. I've driven most, if not all, of Colorado's paved highways (and a few unpaved ones too) across the Continental Divide and this one for me is the most impressive. I see the cop car with the dummy in it was on duty in Twin Lakes on this drive.
This video is sublime. The route is obviously amazing, but the perfect weather and fitting music make it even better. Thanks for uploading. I'm binging all your videos these days.
Wow. You really couldn't have timed that better. Amazing. I've had a CO fall trip planned for years that I've had to cancel twice. One day. I have done the San Juan Skyway (Ouray & Telluride) in the southwest, though. Words cannot do it justice. This makes me want to get back on the road so badly!
I think I mentioned to you a few years ago that you should do this road.Glad to could.Only seen this on youtube, never been there. The area is so amazing.Good job.
Such a fantastic video with breathtaking views. Also the music of John Denver fits right in. Thank you very much for this upload! Greets from the Netherlands.
Great video! I grew up in Colorado during the late 1970s and 1980s. I'm surprised you didn't mention that Aspen is one of the wealthiest communities in the world. Real estate is so expensive that most people who work in Aspen live in Glenwood Springs. There's even a local bus route connecting the two cities. John Denver was strongly opposed to the construction of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. While he ultimately lost that battle, he was able to get several concessions from CDOT that gave us the highway we have today.
I liked that one Kyle, sweeping bends, lovely scenery, chilling music. Well-done. The Loneliest Road in America clip is still my favorite though, gotta say.
Man people are gonna absolutely hate me when I drive this road tomorrow. I'll probably go no faster than 30 the whole way, hopefully there are lots of pullouts so people can pass me
Powerful work getting my weary, old heavy metal heart to completely check out tripping on John Denver. I moved to Colorado Springs in 2015, I guess I'd rather be in Colorado. Nicely done, I love every minute in this region.
I don’t see that ever happening with how narrow the road is and how difficult the terrain is to build around. Plus it’s closed in the winter. Why spend the money for something that just isn’t economically beneficial.

I will watch this one over and over.It is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful video. I loved it and will be watching again

I love your truck in the video. The PFP you are seeing from mine is me in the world of cars. You still know Cars right?
What line of work do you do?

At the end I think that huge mountain is Mt Elbert -Colorado's tallest and sticking out in the background may be Mt Massive the 2nd tallest.
Truly one of your best videos yet! Colorado certainly is colorful this time of year.
THANK YOU!

Are you related to Puppy Smith head of the Aspen road crew?
Beautiful scenery and the perfect sound track to go with it...

Absolutely beautiful video. I enjoyed every second of it.

Is it possible to pull a 35ft travel trailer from I-70 to Independence Pass via Aspen then on to Royal Gorge? Lovely video.
Great video, and beautiful scenery!
Tony Lagergren Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful OMG 😱 and I loved John Denver
Christina Brodrick Thank you!
In the early 1960’s my Father had the choice to transfer to Amarillo TX (more pay) or to Glenwood Springs CO (priceless).
Except for having to go THRU Aspen, Independence Pass is a great drive.
beautiful country!
Nice video, what I think is they need to widen all of CO-82 to four lanes

You need some really good lungs to cycle at that altitude. Beautiful landscape and video.
mountains are much higher than the ones we have in new england!
Twin Lakes / Leadville is my home town. Independence Pass is a yearly family trip for us.
Thanks for the awesome video
Ooh...I get named! I guess the one dislike was owed money by John Denver....
5:08 ive literally passed a car in the exact same place as the Audi. Lots of slow traffic and high congestion at times through there.
I can just watch your videos for the discovering good soundtracks :D !! Great work Kyle - stay safe!
2 minutes ago! I think that's a record!
