I have made a ton of progress in the last year and I won't stop. I take Grant's side on the money/happiness argument though.

  • @GabrielSantos_28

    the debate GC and Ed had around the 1:15:00 mark is much less a debate, and more so two important points about money, life & happiness:
    Ed: Money is not the determinant (the true reason) that causes happiness in life. It can cause temporary happiness. It can help solve problems. It can be used as a tool to help more people. But money as a goal to achieve happiness will actually lead to emptiness, because a person can be a billionaire and empty, and a homeless person can be broke and at peace.
    GC: Having money leads to happiness when not having money creates sadness. For example, when we want a burger and fries, but can only afford the fries, there's a sadness that may occur from not having the means to get what we want. Similarly, if we are in desperate need of $500 to make rent, and we don't have that money, that financial pressure creates a stress in our lives that can suffocate the possibility of being happy. How can we solve a $500 problem without having $500? That's GCs point. And what having money allows us to do is be able to solve any financial problem we have, which would OF COURSE make any person happy because it gets rid of stressful problems.
    Both are important lessons to reflect on. Money as a tool to handle all potential financial problems, as well as the freedom to do or have whatever one wants if it has a money price, is a type of happiness that's important to address and pursue.
    And, it's also important to know that the feeling of being enough, the feeling of life being worth it, and the feeling that life is great and grand and awesome, is independent of having or reaching a certain level of financial success. Fulfillment.

      Fully agree with you, that’s the awesomeness of two people seeing two parts of the same coin. I salute them both for expressing their points of view. Personally, I am happy without money as long as my needs are being meet but I would be miserable and unhappy when I don’t have money and I don’t have food at the time same. So both of them emphasized those points dramatically.
      1. Happiness is an inside job, whether you have money or not, you could be happy (Ed Mylett).. ( assuming that you are not broke)
      2. As was pointed out clearly, money makes you happy because it gets rid of the financial problems and you don’t need to stress yourself every single day about thinking where to get it. Unless you live in the mountains where you plant your food and you get your water from the streams, everything in our lives needs money. If I want to help others, I need my own money or I need to be funded by someone. ( Uncle G’s points) .

I see where you’re coming from in wanting to be diplomatic to impact more people. But that intensity and the flaws you show make the moments like the one where you got more emotional THAT much more worth it.

      So right,my brother when reality hits ,that's when you will see who's happy. I think Ed is trying.to sell a contradiction,because he wasn't broke for long,or had to face life's real ugly ,to see Grant's side.

    • @kwabenadonkor1865
      @kwabenadonkor1865 5 років тому

      Money might not make a person happy but it sure helps having it. A lot of people hate their jobs but they still go to that job because they have bills to pay. Now if most of these people were financially free working at a job they hate would not be an issue. I guess happiness is in the eye of the beholder.

    • @Matt-bl5xf
      @Matt-bl5xf 4 роки тому +1

      I was broke and happy.... until my son asked me for a new bike and I couldn't afford to buy one, until my wife went grocery shopping and had to put stuff back on the shelf because she went over budget... until my mom got divorced and lost her house and was homeless and I had no money or means to help her....
      Money doesn't buy happiness, helping people brings happiness and you can help more people when you're wealthy than you can if you're broke.
      Selfishness doesn't result in happiness, so rich, selfish people are generally unhappy.
      The point is, being happy should not be the goal. Doing what is RIGHT should be the goal and happiness is the payload from doing what is right. Being broke and unable to help those that need it most is not right, it's wrong, and the people that are broke and WANT to help others do it on the back of socialism, begging government to help the needy where they cannot.

    Best 2 hours I've ever invested. I enjoyed this more than anything I've ever listened to, watched or studied. I'm in Ed's firm and after watching this interview I believe this is the closest I've ever felt to his mind and heart. Grant never fails to be Grant - He always provides immense value.

    I never comment, but wow. This may be one of my favorite interviews of all time. I'm in Ed's Arete group. I've read all of Grants books. I've seen a ton of their content and put their teachings into practice and now have an incredible business, a great closing rate, and helping a lot of wonderful people... this interview lands on me in a deep way, because I get to enjoy the fireside chat, but take a moment to contemplate their words here and life. This interview has me sitting back and thinking deeply on what is next. Omar, great job. Ed and Grant were amazing here. A side rarely seen. Bravo, and thank you...

    I was born in 1963 and I'm really excited with what is happening with Social Media. I was introduced to Ed Myllet through Grant Cardone and now I follow Ed Myllet. I'm grateful for that. When you learn that you are enough and you live with a lot of faith you are happy. That's why I don't have the money that this great guys have but I'm so happy. I was raised in a time when we didn't have the information and this privilege was just available for the rich people. When in my life I dream even to have access to people like this two wealthy men. Grant Cardone when your faith grow you are going to know your wife and kids will be taking care of and that life it self is beautiful and that we are rich already because we have each other. Together we will make the difference #mindset, #health, #finances #HONORABLEENTERPRISES

    Loved the debate about happiness and wealth. First off one should strive to achieve balance in both spiritual wealth and material wealth. Second, now both should be shared with others. So I believe that the more you have of each the more you can share it with others, the happier you will be.

    Love Ed Mylatt....he is so conscious !! When I was a professional ballerina it was one of the happiest times of my life and I lived on 400 dollars a month. It was in alignment with what fulfilled me at that time. Now I am 55 and have been a ballet teacher for the past 24 years. I also married and raised 4 children, in a foreign country. My ballet school has grown at a pace that was achievable and in alignment with all the other areas of my life. I got the BMW 2 years ago because I wanted it then , I never wanted or needed it before. When I wanted it, I did the work to get it. I'm fulfilled, happy, healthy because I work on that and still look forward to everyday I wake up. I agree with Ed ,when you serve and help others you don't need to be super rich to be happy and fulfilled. But I'm also sure if I had more cash flow, it would enable me to do greater things and help more people. Next project is to focus and commit myself to find a way to make a ballet company to help all the amazing students that want to dance professionally.

Im working with my own beliefs, im deleting some limiting ones i have that totally keep me small, like the idea of being an introvert and avoid people and difficult conversations. And now i am programming myself as an extrovert, as someone who confronts people in a positive way, adding value. These are the kind of conversations that have the power to change lives and regular people would have rarely (if ever) have access to people like you, Ed and Grant in this way in the past.
