  • When the BEST ATHLETES in the world want to train with the BEST TRAINER in the world, they work out with Tim Grover.
You want to know what it’s like to train MICHAEL JORDAN and KOBE BRYANT? You want to know what sets them and other next-level performers apart from high achievers with just as many gifts and talents?
    Tim Grover has the ANSWERS.
Tim founded ATTACK Athletics, Inc. in 1989 and since that time, he has worked with hundreds of NFL, MLB, NBA, and Olympic athletes including Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. He is also the best-selling author of RELENTLESS: From Good to Great to Unstoppable, JUMP ATTACK, and his newly released book, Winning. Widely considered the preeminent authority on the science and art of physical and mental dominance, Tim is a highly sought-after keynote speaker around the world and a consultant to top business leaders, athletes, and elite achievers in every area.
Tim is one of my oldest and dearest friends so it was easy to get him to talk about the nature of FAME, what it takes to be the absolute best, GRIT VS. GLAMOUR, and why it’s not necessarily easy when you do reach the top.
Tim is also uniquely qualified to tell stories about how Kobe lived his life and what you can take from his MAMBA MENTALITY.
We had a lot of good laughs but we also covered some tough things too. Tim shares how he felt when he found out Kobe was gone, why it’s lonely when you’re ultra-successful, and how to CONQUER your doubts, fears, and flaws and turn them into mentally DOMINANT advantages.
Straight up, this is HONEST talk from the best in the business.
Tim Grover has been there and he’s got WISDOM and STORIES you won’t want to miss.
    0:00 Intro
2:42 Tim's last conversation with Kobe
7:27 Being flawed is not a negative thing
10:40 Winning is sprints within a marathon
13:32 Winning doesn't care about you
    17:54 Tim's experience training Kobe & MJ
20:52 Your mind has to be stronger than your feelings
24:52 The truth about MJ & Kobe's athletic gifts
31:04 There's a lot of things that suck about winning, it isn't all glory
35:27 The types of people that compete
39:44 The reason why it's lonely at the top
46:06 Why the destination is more important than the journey
52:50 Reframing loneliness into mental dominance
    58:11 Grit versus glamour
1:05:48 Is Tim proud of himself?

On UA-cam lately, there has been a lot of talk about how working hard and being obsessed about your goals is wrong and not healthy. I comment on their videos, but their way of seeing the world is very fixed, where working hard is seen as the worst thing that could happen to somebody. For me, I see that not everybody wants to have balance in life, and that's ok. I don't think Jordan would get where he got if he wasn't obsessed. Watching Ed mylett's channel and reading Tim grover's books make me feel good because I know other people understand the great feeling of working hard at work worth doing. This channel is one excellent example of the best side of UA-cam.

In my opinion, winning is not exactly about winning itself. It's about knowing the full glory of our spirit. It's about knowing the depth of our mental strength. It's about developing as a soul. That's what drives us forward and upward towards it. The "gorgeousness" that pulls us towards winning is our own greatestness calling to us. So, often, the prize of winning is reserved for those who are willing to dig that deep.
This is something I'm learning as a life long yogi & meditator, learning a new way of being. In the realm of yoga & meditation, we work on being humble rather than winning. Nothing wrong with that, and still an important part of my life. But after a life time of hiding, I'm ready to step into my greatness.
Thank you for doing you & for contributing great content 😉 ❤🙏

When they talked about not being able to identify with people who would rather make excuses than win, and also about wanting to separate from the groups that everyone else associates with (i.e. Dem/Repub), those were things I'd experienced and resonate with, and I know I'm on the right path to winning in my life.

Feeling alone has never been more real since my decision to change my mindset. This show has been very helpful in understanding why . After attending the @drivenevent I was eating breakfast at the hotel and @timgrover came over to my table, shook my hand and asked how I was doing. I will never forget that moment, and how much that meant to me. It was a welcome to join the fight and win one step at a time! One day I will have the honor of being part of that elite group of winners! Right now focusing on being in proximity of them to learn and grow.

I now see that I've been taming my winning life. No wonder I've been feeling incomplete and misdirected. I knew I wasn't crazy. Thank you God!! I needed this today!! 🙌🏼 I have no other choice but to keep going. I tell people I would rather live in a tent if I have too & die trying. I’ve got to chase this calling inside. However, they don’t get it & I don’t give a damn! Their are so many people who are stuck in their victim mentality. You know how I know because I was too. This isn’t darkness to me, it’s freaking light 💡 If we see a problem in the world 🌎 and you know you have a gift, that could lead others to changing theirs. It is a complete disservice to my God NOT to do what he said. The journey is a miserable, yet exciting chase, and I know that makes sense to Winners. I won’t ever really WIN until I sit at the feet of Jesus & here him say.... Well done my good & faithful servant. That to me is The WIN I’m ultimately after. I long deep in my soul for it! Thank you Ed & Tim for this today! God bless you!! I’m need this book 📖 and I will get it!! God bless you!! Let’s MAXOUT the world 🌎

Our job isn’t to convince others of how we’re built. Our job is to accomplish what we’re supposed to do. It’s hard to stay loving towards those close to us when they aren’t like us so it’s important to realize not everyone sees winning as worth it. And that’s fine :) once you realize they’re simply different than you it’s easier to have compassion for them. But also, shut em up. Hard. 💯

Hi Ed, this video was absolutely incredible. Watching the two of you speak was worth tens of thousands of dollars to me personally and I am so grateful that you provide content of this caliber, conversations that would have historically only been available to a privileged few, to the masses and to me.
I’m going through a hard time, my job has become terribly toxic and my last day there is Tuesday. I became a real estate agent last year and purchased a multi family to offset my living costs and saved all of my bonuses to live off of while I transition into entrepreneurship. The trouble is, I really dislike the real estate game, selling people on commodities doesn’t sit entirely right in my heart but I know that sales is something I have a natural God given gift for. I often think about what you would say Ed if I ever could ask you a question and I feel that because I’ve absorbed thousands of hours of your content I have a good sense of what you might say. Thank you for that. Having no male role models was very hard for me and it helps to get your insights and wisdom. I am committed to blowing the doors off my local real estate market, I don’t love that kind of salesmanship but I’m committed because I have little siblings who count on me and I’m
not going to let my own difficulty with discomfort and tendency to avoid things that aren’t fun to me, get in my way.
I hope to meet you someday and thank you at an event.
    Thank you and God bless.
    James Hunt

Talking about Fear, I was just taught Fear is spelled two different ways. The cowards spell fear, Forget-Everything-And-Run. Winners spell fear, Face-Everything-And-Rise. So true!

Best interview I've seen from Tim. Asking the right questions and having a relationship with him helped in hearing him open up about things I didnt really know about winning. Great content.
Now let me go download the audiobook.

This is one of my favorite shows so far from you! Been a big follower of Tim Grover since the Jordan days. But what he's doing now with this book, it's a total game changer and Ed like you said my friend, this topic on WINNING is not being talked about especially the way Grover writes about it in the book! If you don't have this book you need to get it and if you are not listening to Ed's podcast you are absolutely missing out on learning from the greats so you can MAX-OUT your LIFE! Thanks Ed!
