Hi I'm on the highveld of South Africa about 80 miles east of Johannesburg and I really like watching your videos. I have learned a lot about how these things are done and I appreciate that you do very good work for your customers.
I like your desert property and look forward to seeing how it's developing.
I enjoy the videos better when senior narrates I don't fall asleep
This looks beautiful. Nice attention to detail.
TY
Y’all do the most meticulous, beautiful work! Really great video!❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Really nice job. I have done stamping for 17 years and have never used a pressure washer to remove release. I find that soap water and a stiff broom work really well.
That works, but slower.
Flabbergasted about how this looks. So realistic.
I concur
TY
That look goes really good with the surroundings. Neat perspectives from inside the skidsteer and while stamping the concrete.

Your attention to details is just simply mind boggling. I have been around the trades for over forty years all of them high end commercial and industrial job so no I'm not Joe home owner blowing smoke up your.... Wish I knew of you a few years back as we did a major back yard remodel but there's always tomorrow! Cheers Mr. Master Craftsman.
I hear, and will be on standby.
TY
That’s some nice work David. Just started binging your channel. That water and scrubbing the the road during cleanup was refreshing to see. Definitely everyone isn’t up to those standards. Also, I see a lot of magnesium floats used around here (eastern Kentucky) what’s the difference using wood? What type?
I like the wood on the first pass and go to mags
TY
Love that pattern ❤ that why i use liquid.
Not long lasting.
Im surprissed you guys got a pumper for this. I would have thought the truck just back up and put all the extentions on and have the youngest guy on the crew with a shovel throwing it to the back, lol. Looks like a watery mess during setup, but amazing job!!!!! As always, absolutely knocked it out of the park!
To much work, I need save my energy for the finish product.
Never easy!
Not really
Odell concrete is the bomb.
TY
Great job men! Wish ya'll would wear mask when messing with that powder colorant/release .
I do when it becomes repetitive.
TY
WHOA!! love this video, What Camera are you using when stamping?
Go pro
Quite fancy for a short section of driveway... but as always, you guys did a GREAT job. Did you guys pour the original? was that tree there? did you caution the owner about that tree? It's just that what you took out looked pretty new... but it couldn't have been all that new for a tree to grow so much that the roots brought it 8 inches out of the ground... IDK. Thanks for sharing these projects with us.
That concrete we removed was probably 30 or 40 years old
Nice work! At the beginning, I honestly thought you had started the demo on the old driveway until you showed the side where the roots tunneled under.😂
I hear that
Very interesting to see how this is done. I’m assuming far cheaper than pavers or other methods? Beautiful work regardless 🤝
Great point!
David, how do you maintain the surface of the wooden bull float ? Do you oil it or do anything special whatsoever ? Should the face be super smooth or should it be slightly rough to draw against the concrete ?
Clean and free of oils
Nice work! You didn’t put anymore joints in the central part?
Yes two joints across
Hello Mr Odell . They did dessert tan color stamped concrete on my backyard but they didn’t let it dry enough time before sealing it now white stuff is coming out of my concrete . Will you be able to give me an advise on what to do on the concrete? Thank you great work !
Depends on the sealer they used?
Stripper works on water and lacquer base sealers for removal
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thank you sir yes they did used a acrylic solvent based high gloss curing.
Master David, 2 quick questions if you don’t mind… what is your opinion of concrete R word (used to slow down concrete setting. afraid it will moderate my comment if I use the exact word). I have a large pour (for me, could be done in your sleep for you) and it was an idea to keep it manageable while pouring. Also, is a pea gravel 3/8 minus 50/50 mix ok for small retaining wall project? I am hiring a pump operator and that is their preferred size for pumping. I thought larger rock better for walls? Thanks for any feedback!
Pea gravel works, just put some steel in there.
Retardant, I've used it and don't like the way it sets.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks! I’ll go ahead with a normal mix then no retarder. Thanks for the advice
Why do you no longer use the fiberglass rebar? I'm generally not a fan of stamped concrete, but this was impressive.
Hard to source it
👍👍
I usually go to figure out cost labor rentals & profit or it’s not worth it to me as a small contractor especially when I do custom stamping
Good job
First 👍
He's ba-ck.
TY
Second 👍
Close!
Why not liquid release.
Doesn't hold up
Where was the rebar in the old driveway?
There wasn't any
How much does something like this cost
7500
Amazing job. Mega Pros! You guys really should wear dust masks stamping though, release agent powder is hella bad for your lungs
True
Looks like Villa Park
close
Are you a square foot contractor or figure to what you want to charge
Sq, footage doesn't work in a situation like this
Making that eeasssyyyyy money 😂
OSS
I go on other concrete channels and tell them I'm team Odell
Good choice
TY
Pity about the straight joint in the cobblestone, it was the first thing i seen
Standard for this pattern
@@OdellCompleteConcretenot true
If you made it with 1 10 yard truck then why was there 2 mixer trucks on the job?🤔
I poured the prior video released in natural gray
Unfortunately, you couldn't do that in Germany. We have frost in winter and this ensures that every small crack in the concrete would cause the concrete to flake off. That's why the concrete slabs are double-covered with reinforcing bars. According to the DIN standard, they have to be at least 2 cm from the bottom and 2 cm from the top in the concrete, because otherwise the moisture would cause the reinforcing bars to rust. This leads to spalling of the concrete and it becomes unstable.
Makes sense
Did you ever get paid from that difficult customer who was a contractor?
No
7:36 almost knocked over your worker while reversing 😮
That wouldn't be pretty.
4th 👎😞
Third
wow that driveway is destroyed. Worse i've seen
Me too
