“What I like about this run is that there’s like zero prep involved” Says our guy who regularly starts boss fights with 3 1/2 arrows and a dubious food as his only cooked meal
I was going to ask whether Quin would go after Sage’s Wills for this challenge but I think you astutely demonstrated how stupid my question would have been.
Theres a king gleeok or two guarding chests with a sage's will. Unless you're fast and the radius is based on your location with riju's lightning, its pretty hard to let them be the main damage dealers. Plus there's 20 chests containing them. Even just getting enough for the damage dealers yunobo, riju and tulin would take quite awhile.
Tulins true ability (wind gust) was super useful for my regular run when dealing with Gibdos, but also he does so much damage on his own. Because you aren't using his ability while fighting, he's free to do all the smacks.
Sidons sage ability does the same damage as whatever weapon you're using so say you have a sixteen damage sword, his water wave attack will stack another sixtee on top giving you thirty two. Also the wave will look different with a more focused point on speirs, a larger width with two handed blades and a regular mid width with swords and raipers. Now imagine a 80+ damage weapon dealing double? Pretty sick, although it does cost weapon durability. Also "I took a class on invasive maneuvers there's no way he hits me-" 💀
I usually find weapons over 20 in the depths sometimes. When that happens then Sidon will multiply the attack to 43.27 (about 44, since it's a pristine version)
I love the fact that when other youtubers do a challenge run, they carefully plan everything. Whereas Quin just slams his face into everything until it works out. And that’s why we all love him
I mean...its a viable technique regardless. That's how I killed him. Didn't bother with wasting arrows. If anything, I think Quin shot himself in the foot when he kept using Sidon's ability to cloak himself before he dived. But then again, ig that's the only way for a sage to really contribute to this fight. I don't even think I used Tulin at all for this.
i think that’s the intended way since tulin keeps yelling for link whenever he dives into colgera’s weak points. i don’t remember those yells when i shot with arrows. either way quin did not need to keep getting sidon for colgera like just wait for the ice spikes to get off its back and then plunge in lmao
that's the intended strat... you smashed through all that ice to get to the temple, then you see that ice *on the boss* ... i have no idea why anyone thought to use arrows
The dedication needed to even attempt this is insane bc the entire time during my playthrough, the sages would run away from me anytime I needed their abilities. I love how they help Link in the story but in gameplay they barely helped when it came to combat. Still insanely impressive as always.
no same i think its really cool how they come along with you but i basically only have tulin on consistently and the others i only turn on when i need them. when its the 5 of them they just get in the way unless its a ton of enemies
Fun fact the game doesnt tell you: if you whistle while in combat, the Sages will group around you, and if you whistle again, they'll scatter. It's been very useful for me when I'm fightin a horde of Gibdos and Riju will NOT come over to me lol
What i love about Quin besides his whole personality and style of his videos of course is how much the whole community just feels like a big friend group. It really does feel like Quin is our friend who just shows us the fun stuff he came up with. And especially how he interacts with everyone.
