cool seeing my gym get featured! will say it's definitely soft grading here, compared even to it's Santa Ana location. lax is mainly a rope climbing gym and if you're going to boulder only, check out the other locations for more climbs or another gym
What gym do you recommend?
2017 Had a red-eye flight back to the mid-west. Had a great afternoon session at this gym, drove through In-N-Out Burgers, dropped off the rental car and got to my gate at LAX in plenty of time. Totally was ready to sleep on the plane. This gym is beautifully designed. Worth a visit anytime you fly via LAX.

Recently became a member here and it's a really fantastic gym IMO. Main downsides are that it is expensive and the grades are significantly soft.
You know if the setters there say it's soft in a video it's soft. What are we talking, V10 is really V8 or?
The absence of auto belays in the main climbing area is bizarre and backwards.
I want such a gym in my area :(

When was this filmed / which Sender one was filmed? Pretty sure sender one is LA still requires masks. Weird to see people without masks in the vid, but Orange County gyms are more relaxed, and Orange County has a sender one also.

Sender One (LAX location at least) is a pretty fun experience but calling it competitively priced is only fair if you compare it to the other massive gyms in LA city proper, like Stronghold. It's memberships are significantly more expensive than others around Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties within an hour or two drive away. What puts them over the cheaper options is that fully set up Gym. But I can get a membership at both Top Out (which also has a small gym) and Gold's for around the same price, if not a tiny bit cheaper.
Obviously, this is subjective, but the grades are also much softer than other smaller gyms in the greater area. A 5.10 up the big wall at the LAX location tends to feature no move harder than a 5.8 or 5.9 at the Cliffs of Id or Top Out Climbing gyms. I'm not trying to be a crusty old sandbagger but the routes there are more than "slightly soft" compared to outdoors.
Looks like an amusement park. Very unappealling.

you should look into Stronghold gym in LA, they have way bigger walls.
