Chris Sewall and Jeremy Donson rolled out their new sports card and comics auction house, Collector Investor Auctions, today. I thought it was a good opportunity to test it out and do a video.

Will you try out this auction house?
Maybe, one day. I haven't used any auctions because I don't want to compete with people, who are wealthier than I am. But CIA, has a good selection. It will be interesting to see, though, where the Bird card ends up. A PSA 4 , sells for around $500.
@@ACD1994 I’ll be watching!
@@JunkWaxHero Good luck Mike. Hope you win it. 🙏
I have no self-control. 🤔
Neat- I’ll have to go on it to see what their vintage unopened selection looks like. Thanks 👍❤️
Thanks for doing this, Mike. It looks simple to use and navigate. I’m sure Jeremy and Chris have put a lot of thought into it.
Seems like it!
That is cool, will take a look. I think it makes sense to get out of the bubble of the big auction houses. I am showcasing my cards and selling a few on my personal website. Just makes sense as prices drop to pay as little commissions as possible. As well as buying/trading from people you know and trust.
Exactly
Great looking website and will check it out. But disappointed no Jack Morris cards or slabs for you to bid on.
Good point! Needs more Jack Morris.
Cool site. Seems like it’s got easy navigation- Thanks…..
Got a ( stupid ) question. ( I enjoyed the live stream BTW. ) I’m going to get back into the hobby very soon. Tell me why I should get my cards graded. ? Back when I collected during the junk wax era, I do not recall anyone getting cards graded?
Grading didn’t become big until the last 20 years. I wouldn’t grade all of my cards. A very small percentage of mine are graded. But if you want something authenticated or protected, or think it will grade high enough to add value, that’s when you grade a card.
If you can do Dmitri Young collection. One of the best collections ever. Former major league ball.player.
What happened to the new thumbnail guy? He make you look too handsome?
lol I bought 10 from him and still have a few left that I’m saving. Won’t be renewing though.
I wonder if stuff will go cheap because most people haven't heard of this auction site yet. Yes, I saw a couple things in your perusal I will bid on. I'm not very patient, though, and the auction has 10 days to run.
Yeah it’s long
Hi Mike. I will try this one out after the National. Like everyone else, I am saving for that. Good luck with your bidding.
Smart. The National is where it’s at.
Thanks for shouting out Hobby Palloza Mike!!!!
Any time!
I tried registering, and it says i need 2 references. I'm 51 years old, ffs. I'm not getting my mom and dad to write a permission slip for me. He can keep his cards.
And I believe in the video I said you just need to put down Chris as your reference
Thanks for sharing
My biggest problem with auction houses are the absurd fees. You can win a great card at a great price not realizing you still owe multiple fees to pay on top of shipping and tax. Say you won that auction for $101, what would the final price be out the door?
Like $121 usually? But less than that because they have a sale on buyers premium.
@@JunkWaxHero Yeah, "Buyer's Premium" I don't really understand that fee. I get the privilege of paying extra because i had the highest bid? What is the purpose of this fee?
@@MasterShake300 yeah I’ve only ever bought from an auction house once. I think the BP how the AH gets paid? Plus sometimes a cut of the selling price?
@@JunkWaxHero I feel like that's double dipping... maybe it's just me. I think i'll just stick with ebay. Are the prices inflated to account for ebay's cut? Sure, but at least i don't have to account for ebay's cut. When i buy a pencil, i don't account for Walmart's cut (built into the price), i just want to buy the dang pencil.
The chevy chase could be a good purchase. He doesnt look too healthy
You played a commercial in the middle of your commercial for the penny sleeves ??
I’m going to create an account over the weekend. Really to support Chris Sewall and the Texas Snowman but I did see a few things I might bid on!
Yeah same here!
