Before and After
Transforming a Neglected 200 Year old Wine Cellar
Into a beautiful Wine Cave
In this video of Bordeaux Life we see how far we have come , a before of how this underground cellar / was to how it got transformed after the renovation
It isn't all finished one day soon there will be wine crates in this underground cellar / cave but the main thing is that it is now transformed and saved and its an added bonus to this beautiful no longer neglected home
Each day we are One step closer to finishing the work @Our Passion Project and we were almost there well maybe 3 months out or a bit more
No one said a Diy was easy but when you love doing things yourself no matter how hard it is it doesn't matter
Bit by bit things are taking shape and there is more and more progress
We didn't know long some things would take but things are now taking shape !
We both had to adapt thanks to the help of Cyril the work has advanced hugely .
Huge Thank You to everyone for their Love & Support x
Special Thank You to all of our amazing Patrons x

A lot of work. The wine cellar is such an asset for the chateau. Well done, looks amazing, love the character.
Happy Sunday Everyone. Xx 😘😃😊
The wine cave is wonderful, you have done a fabulous job with it.
You should be very proud of your excellent renovation. Lovely to see your style and beautiful quality of your work.
You really can do anything Edd and Anna 👍🏻
I am loving how familiar faces pop up in each other’s videos, it is like over time the real neighborhood of friends on the ground is becoming the virtual neighborhood too so we all get to feel part of the wider community. This may have just happened, but I think it is a brilliant way to bring us all together. Right now I feel more connected to you all than I do my local community. Due to Covid in the US my local community life is a bit dismal.
i love to see your projects. It is incredible what you take on while raising a young family as well. i hope that all this hard work brings you joy in the end.
What a beautiful transformation! Love seeing it all together
I absolutely ❤️ LOVE ❤️ the wine cave. I think it’s my favorite thing of the house. It’s so unique and awesome!
So good! I can just picture the wine racks with bottles gleaming in the light of those spots! Well done you!
You should be so proud! All your hard work has paid off. It's a great space.
Love watching your family and your projects on your life journey. We’re lucky that you share this part of your life with us. Thanks 🤍💛
Ed You should be very proud of what you have accomplished in the wine cave! You could have hired the trades to come and do it for you but they would not have done a better job! Bravo!
Anna. Like the purple. Tell Ed he need a pair to match. Love the cellar. Got a tear in my eyes with I saw the finish touch. What a great job.
“UNBLOODY BELIEVEABLE”. Awesome 👏 guys 👍 well done.
I look forward to your post. Love seeing the work you guys are doing. It’s exciting!
You two are amazing. You work so hard, I am amazed that you do not have motor subscribers. Watching you two I have learned so much , you attention to details is impressive. You find ways of solving problems. Money is tight but you carry on. So so well done both of you.
You all have done a great job of restoring the wine cave. So nice ... Love following and seeing your projects. All the best. It is beautiful and will be more so when you have the wine down there.
Bravo on the wine cave! Beautiful! Fill it up!
Good to see the renovation from start to finish.
Well done! What a lot of love, care and plain hard work went into making the wine cave so fabulous!
A suggestion for the arch in the end wall: you could run wine glass racks on each side and have the middle a serving area for wine tasting with decanters and wine buckets etc. and a candelabra.
It looks like a gallery space in the Louvre! So fantastic to see how your vision came to fruition.
OMG - I about had a heart attack as I watched how Ed perched precariously on that step ladder when it was positioned against that one -inch ledge (on the cellar steps)! And you had videotaped that same ladder position in the last video:) Your viewers like "thrills" Ed and Anna, but not "spills" - SAFETY first, remember??
Hello from California 🌴🌴🌴
Amazing ! You guys are master Pro's !
Can't wait to see the cellar stocked with wine. It's simply gorgeous !
The last few minutes keeps me in suspense..
Now it just needs a few wine racks and wine.
You should be very proud….The hard work has paid off it’s absolutely beautiful.
OMG... It looks so fantastic! It's perfect for such a stately French home. What a transformation you achieved. I just love the well lights in the floor. It's awesome that you can aim the other 6 lights behind the wine racks. You can store your selections of armagnac, l'eau de vie and cognac in that cool little niche too. Some lucky family will enjoy the attention to detail for many years to come. But for the electricity no one would guess that it hadn't always been that way. Top notch! Crack on!
As always- a fantastic job completed to look fabulous! Ed, Anna and Cyril, you have all contributed to a work of art in your renovations. Ed, your work is so meticulously thought out and executed; you must all be very proud of your accomplishments so far. Well done all (including little Emma the part time site manager, and Charles the casual labourer!) 😅👏🍾🍷👌💐💖
It looks incredible. Fabulous work. Can't wait to see it filled with wine. Amazing!
The transformation is exquisite, well done.
Excellent job, Ed, Cyril and Anna. 👏
Anna, Your Work with the Boys is Amazing 👌👍👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Now you just need to fill it with Champagne and beautiful Bordeaux wines in readiness for when you MOVE IN!🤞🙏🥳💜 😁
I am sorry to hear that you cannot keep this place. You've done a beautiful job with it. Its a shame that your family will not be able to enjoy it. You certainly deserve it.
Bravi bravi, avete fatto un lavoro speciale. Siete una bella squadra, concreta e senza paura di sporcarsi le mani,e per questo un complimento alla signora Anna.
Amazing transformation well done guys. Blessings Ontario Canada 🐝
Great job 👍 it's going to be amazing with the shelves and the wine bottles.❤️🙏🏰
Such a transformation. Lots of hard work, everyone put in. Now just to fill it with some excellent wine.
It’s amazing all the work and projects you have taken on and not let anything detour you from completing! The rubble that had to be eliminated and a well filled in…The wine cellar, the pool you dug, the drainage runoff and don’t forget the wall outside and the kitchen renovations that are underway. You are a Superman without the cape, Edd!
The cave looks beautiful!! Well done to all of you. I wonder if that little alcove was for a wine barrel?
Unbelievably beautiful job
Forgot to say that your grout job Anna was very good. 🤩
Congratulations on finishing the cave it’s perfectly done

Wonderful transformation!
Wow. It looks amazing. Is there anything the two of you can’t do. So impressive.
Wine cave ✅ looks fantastic!
I wish you didn’t have to sell it! You have worked so hard and it’s looking fabulous! Sending love from warm and sunny Sydney! X
Looking lovely guys
They need a large beer keg in the wall inset with a tap! I was hoping they would make another identical alcove next to it, but it turned out beautifully!
that is just stunning and it will look wonderful when you have some wine down in it too 😊😉👌
It looks good. It will be a beautiful home when finished
Always a thumbs up for me..
Wauw, it is so beautifull. You must be so proud of yourselves. Very, very well done
It looks amazing!!! You guys are awesome!!!
Fantastic job as per usual. Well done. Very talented, a jack of all trades and master of every one.
You really have made a beautiful job of the cellar, well done, I hope you get your due rewards for all the hard work
The wine cave came out great. Watching you from the Southern Tier of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York USA
Wow! Just beautiful Ed and Anna!
Looks amazing. Just wondering if you'll be putting a door on, you know to stop Ed crawling in to get more wine. 😉
Amazing job on the wine cellar well done 👏👏
Bravo! Well done guys. It is amazing how many different types of jobs you are good at. You are getting closer and closer to the finish line.
Well done to you all . The children are lovely
Wow....another room complete.....you are getting there!!! Looks amazing!
Buona serata anche alla signora Anna 😘
I’m sure Philipp is jealous! #howtorenovateachâteau (withoutkillingyourpartner)! LOL!
Great job, guys!
It looks amazing guys
Wow what a wonderful place now 👍
Incredible transformation
The 'outside vent' is a coal shoot, so that when the coal and wood man delivered his product he would pull up and shovel down into a hopper that would be in that basement. The 'Bacchus' shrine was a storage space for fruit (which is why the sand was there), so that the family could enjoy fruits in the winter.
They already established that it’s just an air vent to keep it dry inside. It never stored coal. It’s a wine cave.
@@debshaw680 it's was not just for wine. It's a food cellar. Where they stored bags and crates of food. That's what the shoot was for.
It kinda looks like the cesspit they found at that other Chateau, tbh. But with that chute, it definitely looks like coal delivery for the kitchen.
@@LadyIarConnacht this one was definitely NOT a cesspit. They found no pit in here but they were typically in a similar style room.
@@Jessa8891 no, food was kept in a root cellar and wine in the wine cellar...Tu est francais??? Mais non...taint pis pour vous n'est pas??? Oui, n'est pas...
Looks fantastic! Such sound craftsmanship, you won't find that often here in the US these days.
You’ve got skills brother!!!
(And sister😉)
woaH! So beautifully yellow! It will be spectacular when it has wine shelves and some other things in it. Very nice and secure from the elements. Must feel good to have another area completed! Thank-you, Kris
Love it! Looks really snug down there. Well done guys you definitely deserve a glass of wine or 2 after that 🎉🙌
we watched the place being changed and it looks wonderful I don't see the need for a before and after video but well done time to move on to something new
I’m always amazed by both of your hard work.
Well done guys.
Xxxx
Stunning.
Tres bon! Fit for a chapeau! ....🤭 I meant Chateau!
Absolutely amazing!
Congratulations
Ed & Anna on this challenging project.
It came out beautifully.👏👏👏
It’s absolutely stunning!!
Sending you many hugs from across the Ocean. The wine cave turned out more beautiful than I visualized. It is a testament to hours and hours of very hard work and if you call the chateau home, it will bring you hours of enjoyment with your friends. Always be safe and stay well. xx
It’s amazing. You are all so talented.
Beautiful work you two bravo
Your vision, paired with your knowledge, perserverance, and work ethic, are amazing ! Good job ! You are a great team !
Beautiful job.
Alladin's Cave! Wow!
You might want to make a bug screen to cover the air shaft - keep the critters out. Also a wrought iron gate at the entrance to keep critters of the human kind out. You’d need a butler to carry the key.
Thankyou, Thankyou for sharing another wonderful vlog. Iwish so much to see you both being able to keep such a beautiful home, especially how incredibly hard you have worked.
Now that deserves a valentines card from Edd if not roses 😉😉😉😘😂🤣
Saint Vincent is the patron Saint of wine makers.
Fantastic transformation 🥰🥰🥰
Value Added!!! Nice job.👍
