Your little Château is becoming quite a jewel box. All the high end finishes, quality details and workmanship are impressive. Even with less than ideal product, you’ve skillfully installed to achieve beautiful results; Impressive! I also admire you taking a filming break to ensure time for you & your family 🥰

Good for you both to take time for family, your fans and followers will be here when you come back, OMG Ed you have the patience of a saint, (at least on video, LOL) to do that job. Beautiful work. I can't wait until the grand tour when it's finished. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Uneven tiles won't be a problem. You're a perfectionist and you see it but try to remember an older home has to have character. You've done amazing work and a tile askew here and there just adds to the charm of the older building. I think its still perfect. Beautiful in fact!

Edd's comments about the uncalibrated tiles really illustrate how anyone as precise as he is will have to be tolerant of all the imperfections that come with construction, whether your own or that of paid professionals. Most of us would not have even noticed those imperfections in the outside walk, but he always will.

The driveway looks amazing, even not quite finished. It amazes me how much work you get done by yourself (or with only a little help). Your drive and energy to complete projects is super impressive. All while raising a family and running a business. Your should both be so proud of what you are creating.

It's amazing that you have personally taken on such a large project. Congratulations! With respect to the tree, it looks like powdery mildew. Bring a leaf to your local garden center. They will give you something that should work, and be ecologically friendly.

I fully understand the problem with the sets, I bought 30sqm of reclaimed hexagonal tomettes which looked fine in the pics, but on arrival were from three different manufacturers three different colours, sizes and thicknesses, I was committed to using them, which took three times as much adhesive and three times as long to lay 😶 consequently joints varied from 3 to 15mm and uneven throughout, but since grouting friends have said how good they look, so I have stopped looking 😉...

Ed is an absolute genius at any endeavor. It looks as though the transplanted tree (is it a crepe myrtle?) has fungus. If so, Neem Oil is a good remedy. It's organic and functions as an insecticide, miticide, and fungicide, so you can use it for many purposes.

Ed you have done a wonderful job on the driveway and all the brick around the pool etc. I would think you will be so happy to finish with the Chateaus renovation and have a little time to rest. I admire you as a father taking some time off to spend with your children, the days when they are little will never come back again so enjoy while you have the opportunity. God Bless you and Anna and your sweet children. Kathy USA

The crepe myrtle has powdery mildew. It’s very common on them. A fungicide and cleaning the ground around the base will help. There are organic solutions if that is something you may be concerned with.

    • @goldenineke

It’s a crepe myrtle I think by the leaf and they are susceptible to powdery mildew but usual they self correct. I’d ensure the ground is cleared around the tree and mulch added.

Downy mildew maybe on your tree, shortage of water at the roots. Give the tree lots of water for a few weeks, may help. It may lose leaves but will survive if you keep it watered. ( if that’s what it is), great work.

    Hello Anna and Edd,,,
The white dust on your little tree could possibly be Mealy bug.
You can treat it by spraying the leaves down with mineral oil. Be sure to get it checked out with an actual nursery to find out what it is because mealybug can quickly spread to all of your other plants in the area. Once it takes hold it is very hard to get rid of. Keep up the good work! A+++

I believe the powdery substance is White mold, also known as powdery mildew, is a fungal disease that affects various plants and vegetation. This white fuzzy mold can cover the leaves and stems of indoor and outdoor plants, and in some cases, cover the entire plant-including fruits and buds-in white and gray fungal spores.

Ed you have done an incredible job with everything . The amount of time and work that would of went into laying the tiles alone is outstanding. I can't wait to see what everything looks like when you's are finished. It's going to be fantastic. Well done to you both. You's should both be so proud of what you's have accomplished . I would definitely buy it and I know that if you have to sell it you's will have no problems doing that. But I hope that with everything that you's have done with it that you's get to keep it as your own. It's also good that you's took time off to spend with your children over their school holidays too 💕. We missed watching you's but totally understand why. You's are both fantastic parents and Charles and Emma are both so lucky.🌹🥰

Beautiful job Ed. Even if it is Greek to some of us doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate your skill, effort, and end results. We do. I would love to see it in person but we are a long ways away.

The driveway looks awesome ❤️ Have you guys considered using your guesthouse as an AirBNB rental when done? It would be easy enough to make it a keycode entrance, and would help towards the cost of your passion project, so you can keep it?
