I'm not even into fashion(just an artist) and I am thoroughly impressed! You are a great teacher and you really know your stuff! I'm going to watch all your videos! Thank you for your generosity!
As someone who abandoned their fashion design dreams to pursue something more secure (finance) I'm eager to get drawing again. Your videos are highly informative and valuable so consider me subbed.
Thank you. I never write any comments (this one is my first ever on youtube) but I really wanted to let you know that there are people out there (or over here :) ) who are grateful for people like you - that are willing to share their knowledge! Tusen tack! / Sweden
This was the most helpful video I've seen yet. I just invested in a 200 set Prismamarker to start coloring faster (was using water colors previously) and how in-depth, above and beyond you went in this tutorial has really helped someone like me understand how to color correctly. I'm obsessed with your videos now. Thank you for taking the time out of your life to share your knowledge with us, I really appreciate it. You are amazing!
Hi Zoe, you mention in this video that no one will wish to watch an hour-long UA-cam video well lovely Zoe it really depends, because if it is you teaching the marvellous skills of The Art of sewing and so much more you share on your channel I definitely watch and longer than that, you underestimate the passion your viewers have. Thank you so much, Zoe, for all you share. Kind regards
I LOVE your videos! I went to college for Fashion Design, and this is way more useful. Now I'm in university studying textiles, and hoping to actually find a good job in the industry to do with sustainable fashion, and it's been... a struggle. You're keeping my motivation very high and your videos are super accessible and fun to watch. Thank you so much Zoe! :)
Thank you! Good luck with your studies! I think knowledge of sustainable methods is becoming increasingly important in the industry! Have you seen the documentary "The Next Black"?
these videos are so thorough, i mean i'm in fashion school and our teachers hardly skim the surface of all the details you share with us. thank you so much!
Never really been interested in fashion design, but you illustrate your content in a way that it's beneficial to all sorts of art ! this really helped me add a lot of depth and interest in a piece ive done recently and im extremely proud of it !
I'm a Fashion Design student and this is literally the best thing I've run across. I have trouble illustrating garments and I'm trying to practice and gain more knowledge and I have just run across a gold mine in your channel! thank youuuu so much!
thanks a lot for putting such amount of dedication into your videos! all of your videos are very helpful! also thank u very much for the details explanation and the recap as well👍👍👍👍
Your videos are so easy to follow! they really helped me out with the sheer fabrics and such. Whenever I try to make a sheer dress it's so complicated because I don't really know how to make it look transparent and I try to look at photos to guide myself but this video really helped me out a lot !! Thank you and please keep doing what you do ,cause you're really good at it !! :)
this video depth details very tricky but you are amazing you describe each layout that about the hem line and pleading the layers you set it out there for us very great describes I love watching your step by steps thank you have a bless day
oh my gosh, zoe !! i've been watching your videos since i was about 13 and im 16 now and doing clothing and textiles in highschool. as a 13 year old i remember stumbling across your fashion figure videos and ive been practicing on and off since then. they're not perfect but i'm improving !! i'm so grateful to you because now that i do this as a subject, my teacher requested that for summer's homework, we draw 10 figures and do 10 outfits. thanks to you, i'm the only one with experience and im ahead of the class !! i've been all over your videos and pinterest these past couple of days, brushing up on stuff and learning how to render new fabrics and illustrate new textures. i can already tell my teacher is going to be impressed. i owe it to you
Thank you very much. As for watching an hour long youtube video, I do it all the time watching the Art Sherpa videos. :D The longest I've watched was almost seven hours and we had a blast watching that live, so bring on the long tutorials! :D
Yes it does. :D She is where I heard about your channel so I came to check it out. I'm not a fashion designer or anything but as an artist I often have to paint clothing and Cinnamon said you are on point for that so here I am. :D
I'm in love! You are fantastic! Really enjoying your tutorials and being reminded that I am so lazy about all those details needed for a better illustrations.Thank you very much!
I just found You’re Chanel and I just had to subscribe! Ton of knowledge! Ton of confidence! Ton of good sense of humour,wittiness,talent,beauty..so just had to...💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝💐💝
I wanna see what your pen/pencil collection looks like! You're pretty much amazing. Thanks for the tutorials. As a newbee I'm stoked to have come across your channel :)
Thank you so much for sharing! I use your video's for my interns, but now I have given myself a week off I really enjoy getting into more drawing for fun again. Usually I make a quick sketch, that works for our studio. But long, long ago I started in fashion because I loved to draw and making dolls on my room. I brought my sketchbook to family visits and filled the sundays sitting at aunts tables just drawing princesses and brides. Kind of funny that I am getting back at that stuff right now. Although I was trained in drawing, I lost it a bit, and I am amazed that knowing so much more on making clothes with different fabrics are such a help to draw details. I love your video's, there is so much knowledge in them and they are so helpfull and funny too. I hope you liked being in Amsterdam a little while ago. Good luck with THE book.
I appreciate this so much because i was trying to do a painting and if i had your talent it would have been spectacular but i will surely keep trying and i did learn a lot from this so thank you.
+Amanda Kriti Thanks! Yes, at first I was really concerned with making them short and to the point, but more and more viewers tell me they like how in depth I get with the longer videos so I'm leaning in that direction more.
How would you render sheer fabric that has a opaque lining on the inside? I want to render a dress for my college portfolio but can't figure out how to get that depth that you see between the sheer fabric and the lining behind it.
I am an addict of your videos :-) THANK YOU!!! I wonder if you have somewhere a video on rendering BLACK SHEERS.... (I am very new at this... can't find the right marker..)
Hi Zoe, thank you for this wonderful tutorial.....very helpful as always. Can you do a tutorial specifically aimed at detailing lace? I am excited about the return of lace and other feminine patterns this fall mixed with more hard and heavy accessories........really fun to wear an to illustrate! Lace can b tricky for me to tackle in illustration......would love some tips! Thanks Zoe!
Hey Zoe ! absolutely loving all the videos that you post, honestly have learnt a lot from your rendering and design process series. Greetings from Delhi :)
can you do a tutorial on rendering sheer prints? I am trying to do a black and white stripe chiffon. Love your videos, super helpful thank you so much!
+ALANNA HARAGUCHI Sure, but the queue is really long and so that video won't come out until February. In the meanwhile, I suggest you watch my video on how to render print fabrics and sorta merge the 2 techniques.
+Bushy mini Hey thanks! Yes, you can see I start using different media in my more recent videos. I didn't want to start painting until I posted my Intro to Paints video. ua-cam.com/video/YhdA2sNw6n8/v-deo.html And next week I'm posting another video using different media and will continue to moving forward.
+Gabi Bezuidenhout You're in luck! Someone else requested a lace video a while ago so that tutorial should be up sometime next month. Thanks for the compliment!
thank u for taking up this topic.. its th most challenging one.. is it possible for u to teach how th darts..fish darts..pockets n zipper attachments done on sheer fabric whn we are rendering..
Hello, I'm new to your channel, and btw, i love it. Can you make a video about your collection of all your markers, your pencils, your papers and whatever you use to ilustrate? Please!
Hi Zoey, thank you so much for your video which helped me to get an A in a sheer design project before. Now I have another sheer project but I have ran into a Dilemma, my skin tone and my sheer fabric are in very similar color, I've tried to choose different tones to exegerate the differences between skin color and sheer fabric color but it looked flat. I have a question, Zoe. So when you want to design a long Haute Couture dress with two different shades of sheer, is this method still the same? How can we make a dress like that be illustrated in 3D like your drawing? Can you make a tutorial about this question in the next "Sheer Fabric Series?"
The method is the same. Like, if I wanted to put a sheer blue skirt on top of the dress I rendered in the video, I would draw the skirt on top, and color the blues over what already is there. I can add it to the queue. Just a heads up, the end of the queue is currently at March/April.

Me too🥺 I always had a fashion design dream but I got scared it wouldn’t get me anywhere financially so I decided to become a psychiatrist :(
I found you for the first time and I love love LOVE your personality
I'm a hobby artist, and I found this incredibly helpful in learning how different types of fabric work for my own illustrations.Thank you!

Hi, I love the markers that you’re using. What kind of markers do you use? Whats the brand?
Hi Zoey, thank you so much for your video which helped me to get an A in a sheer design project before.
Now I have another sheer project but I have ran into a Dilemma, my skin tone and my sheer fabric are in very similar color, I've tried to choose different tones to exegerate the differences between skin color and sheer fabric color but it looked flat.
Do you have any suggestions or new methods in rendering this? Thanks a ton!
Thank you for the effort making this video so helpfulll
You're welcome!
OMG I LOVE YOU you inspire me to be a designer :)
Aw thank you! Good luck!
I'm super late but oh my god I love that pen? You used. Please can you share what brand it was??
I have a question, Zoe. So when you want to design a long Haute Couture dress with two different shades of sheer, is this method still the same? How can we make a dress like that be illustrated in 3D like your drawing? Can you make a tutorial about this question in the next "Sheer Fabric Series?"
The method is the same. Like, if I wanted to put a sheer blue skirt on top of the dress I rendered in the video, I would draw the skirt on top, and color the blues over what already is there. I can add it to the queue. Just a heads up, the end of the queue is currently at March/April.
Zoe Hong Okay. Thank you.

Hi Zoe what colouring pens do you use x
hi Zoe .. thank you so much for your amazing videos .. I learned alot from them .. but I wanted to ask you something .. I always have a problem on illustrating white fabrics and black fabrics in general whether it's shinny or not .. can you tell me how to do that .. thnx in advance 😃😃
I have an Illustrating White Fabrics video and a How to Illustrate Black Fabrics with Markers video.
How would you do white sheers because there's no colour to put over the skin.
Hey Zoe, you have no idea how many times I've watched this, and learned something I missed before.
Can I ask what colour markers you're using for the skintones?
What markers is she using and where can I buy them xxx
and in my school my friends liked my models so much
If possible would you be able to show a photoshop illustration tutorial and just some of the basics
I don't illustrate on Photoshop, I do have Photoshop intro video in the queue for some basics and mood board collaging stuff. (I illustrate in illustrator, and I have a few basics videos in my "On the Computer" playlist.)
Can you please tell which pens you are using
I love your videos so much because they always inspire me to try fashion illustrations. But I have one question. What markers do you use?
In general? I have a video on markers in the "Different Media" playlist. In this video? Prismacolor Warm Grey series.
