Rule #1 of rendering any fabric for design communication is to pay attention to your specific fabric swatch. This video covers a bunch of ways to get started on rendering denim. It's up to you to choose which method or combo of methods will work best for your chosen fabric.

+Sarah Longshore Haha! My students have a love/hate relationship with me. My intel says they love me because they learn a lot but hate me because I give tons and tons of homework and am quite a hard grader. And by "my intel", I mean students often just say these things to my face.

It was great watching you with markers and pencils, but you blew my doors off when you started the water colors! You are very talented and amusing! Damn, to be fair I'm not even in fashion school but my dream since 2018 was being a fashion designer, I want to create something unique and thanks to you I got motivation and inspiration to make it happen, there is a lot to learn but thank god you exist. It's going to be hard even with the language cause I'm not native English speaker, but there is always pros and cons about everything, at least I'll practice English with fashion terms!

I know other people do it so I know it can be done, but I like having my own twist on things. Now, if I could figure out an effective way to do it, specifically what would you like to learn? What you did with gouache, can I do with watercolor?
Mostly, but I've never used dry white watercolor like I use dry white gouache but I think it should be similar.

LOL I was just looking at buying more markers and was going to ask you about watercolor markers and why I haven't heard you really talk about them there are so many brands on Amazon that are cheap. LOL I need to send you some brands to test :)

what kind of marker that you used?
Prismacolor in Muted Turquoise for the lighter one and Copic in Agate for the darker one and the dry one is discontinued but a Letraset Pantone Tria brand.
hey! do you have any twill rendering recommendations? Should I just colour it flat or add the twill texture of how its woven? since it still doesn´t have the same texture as denim.
btw my main media is paints
Most twills that don't have a contrast warp yarn (like denim does) doesn't show enough texture to render. My test is to put up a swatch, step back about 8 feet, and render what you see. When you "shrink" a fabric down to fashion illustration size, you won't see every detail. Keep in mind that one also expresses fabric by drawing the correct kinds of folds and drapes.
Zoe Hong thank you for your response. My garment is a fitted one so there's not a lot of movement in it I decided to show that it's drill/twill by adding the texture by adding lines with same colour pencil. I would like to send pictures of my final illustrations for you to review)
