This amazing home of architect John Wardle features on the cover of our latest print edition, Issue No. 5 - thelocalproject.com.au/publication/issue-05/
Hands down one of the best home tours I've ever seen. Very different directing and such a play on themes and materials. Beautiful home. Beautiful production.
As an aspiring architect-to-be, this might just be the single most motivating and inspiring thing I've ever come across. Because it truly feels like a home, and at the same time I could walk around in there for weeks and not have enough time to take it all in. Jaw-dropping. Not only the attention to detail, but the eye- and the vision for every little detail cannot be put into words. I'm blown away, I really am.
To me from the outside it looks like a box with glass around it. Inside looks over furnished, dark and claustrophobic. The windows give some good views but that’s about it. I wonder if postmodern architecture can produce anything beautiful. Everything looks like dull boxes.
That's the most beautiful house I've seen in years. Every element is poetic and sensual. Simple and extravagant at the same time. Those floating plates of glass on the exterior and linear siding. It's all just stunning work. A fine piece of modern art perfectly in sync with our time in history.
I love the combination of textures from tile and wood, how light plays in the rooms and how he has combined modern with charming. There is such peace coming from everything that can be seen from the house, it’s totally integrated.
The trees bring this home the most zen, magical balance. I will never understand those people who dislike trees. Trees are life, trees are beauty, trees are relaxation, trees are art. Amazing home.
This is like a healing home for me. Sorrounded by nature, modern with a touch of wood accent but not overdone. Stress free environment , this house chef kiss
I admire amazing creativity of the architects featured on this channel as well as the videographers who produce these breathtaking videos! As a mom of 2 toddlers I rarely get a break, but as soon as I get an alert for your new video I get my coffee, grab my headphones and “travel” to the most amazing houses of Australia.
I'm normally drawn to minimalistic design but the aesthetics of this home is so breathtaking. Each room has its own character and the way the tiles become the hero piece is just so excellently executed.
From the moment I saw the video on my feed to the end of that I was amazed by the project itself and the materials were chosen for the interior design. Beautiful house with a big personality. Great job.
This home is absolutely extraordinary. I love the materials used in the home, the idiosyncratic design of the build, and the beautiful objects in the space. I’m loving the sensibilities. Great photography, too!
John Wardle is absolutely one of my favorite architects. I found his firm's work on social media a few years ago. He is so in tune to his craft. The level of detail and thoughtfulness found in his personal home is where an architect can really express his art, and John does indeed demonstrate that his ideas are endless. The home and furniture is full of surprises. I love it.
That bamboo forest room is just amazing! I just want one in my home. But so is the rest of the house, unique stylish, and the cinematography is just stunning too.
What a beautiful creation. The design details are perfect. It looks very posh BUT very cozy..which is usually not achieved with most over designed homes. The editing on this one is next level, you are definitely the BEST REAL ESTATE video creators in UA-cam!👏
I like it when they give credits to the sources of materials, artisanal items, and people who contributed to the crafting of this home. It was a collaborative craft.
Stunning. The architecture. The thought behind everything. The GARDEN! (Also I kind of got Inception vibes due to the spinning top right in the beginning)
I am impressed that these 3 elms have survived the ravages of the elm beetle that decimated many of the elms in the area around Kew it is even more impressive that the trees have been so cherished by the designers of the renovation.
This is hard. Very hard. As a newly-licensed architect, I know enough to know I have a long LONG way to go to design something like this. The tilework. Damn. No unnecessary cuts. The space dimensions are perfect. Finishes should have been predetermined beforehand to ensure they all line up. Even then, it's not guaranteed. The custom furniture and millwork. And the fixtures. This is high-level technical skill. Jesus Christ.
I am simply extremely in love with this house! Congratulations to everyone involved in this wonderful project, and a special thanks to the editing and filming team, they managed to make us here on the other side of the screen impressed.
Une œuvre d’art! À voir en à revoir. La céramique est en effet spéciale et magnifique. Judicieux la position des fenêtres pour y voir et apprécier la nature. Époustouflant.
O wish I could see a walkthrough the house. From the front door to the backyard. It’d feel like I’m walking inside. This way of editing make me a little confuse because in one shot I see the kitchen and suddenly I’m elsewhere and I do not know how I got there. But beautiful cinematic videos of course. And amaaaazing house. Wish I could see a bit more.
This video is more of a architectural showpiece rather than a tour of the house. I prefer this style as it makes you feel more connected to the house. I am pretty sure if you were pushing a sale of this house, you would want to have a walkthrough instead.
The house is more artwork than actual house. If I were to live here, I'd probably be more preoccupied keeping things tidy and nice than relaxing and decompressing.

Would love to find out the name of the brilliant ceramicist who constructed the bamboo-inspired tiles?
The amount of personality in this home is such a nice switch from the basic modern interior
I didn't like the wood,
It was overwhelming, but we all have different tastes...🤷♂️
@@sm3675 its too vivid for me also that makes me underwhelm
Ah yes, personality is owning loads of random shit.
@@madaxe i suppose a empty room is enough for you. Minimalist
@@xxDxxism No, a tastefully designed one. Not the garbage you bought when you were 5
this house is amazing but can we take a minute to appreciate the way this video was shot & edited?
Yes! So professional, it was a beautiful looking video
Absolutely!
Keeping me on my toes

Yes!
I wish every construction project would take consideration of trees and try to build around them. They have magical energy.
I totally agree!!
Same
Bio-Architecture
They do have a magical energy. That's why forms of trees show up in religious architecture throughout the ages. Columns were inspired by trees.
@@philanthropicnightmare1206 it's not magical or mythology... it's evolution.
The video editor deserves an Oscar!
AGREED!
100%! that was amazing to watch!
no doubt for that

modern mid century meets traditional japanese design.... love it

Highly impressive amount of character that this house owns.
An absolute credit to architect and owner…….such an individual, respectful and stunning home……one of the best I’ve seen.
The editing, the design itself, the narrating, it is so calm, and good. As an architect I just can say respect for this masterpiece.
As someone who’s already a home-body type person.. if I lived in that house, I think I would truly never want to leave home. Every room is beautiful.
A celebration of nature as much as a celebration of design. Absolutely love it.
You guys really might just be the most attention to detail production on UA-cam for architecture and design

I admire his aesthetic sense - the art in the home is fantastic, and the variety in textures, especially the tiles, is fabulous.

Quite a masterpiece. There's something to look at and marvel at every corner and at the same time evoked warmth of a home.
What architect should always be. This is art
"Absolutely stunning design! The blend of modern architecture with natural elements is breathtaking. Every angle of this building is a work of art."
Couldn't agree more!
This is definitely the most well made video from this channel. Love the vibe, not too melancholic, not too exciting, just perfect.
Wow! The rich colors, textures and lightings.
Appreciate your recognition for Japanese art.

I started watching your videos whenever im stressed with school, its so calming and I love the houses! its pure art
Best production on this channel so far..
Soooo love houses with lots of wall art and sculptures. Add books, lots of timber and greens and I couldn't ask for anything more. Love it.
This home is absolutely extraordinary. I love the materials used in the home, the idiosyncratic design of the build, and the beautiful objects in the space. I’m loving the sensibilities. Great photography, too!
The musicality of the cinematography is so so amazing! 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
Fantastic house with truly beautiful tiles like fine jewels
Just adorable as a whole. Textured tiles, bathroom 6:13, lines. The filming as well.
A Museum indeed. Beautiful things and limitless ideas. A bit cold despite the nice choice of materials.
Now this is how you do a product placement within a home tour- I love the bamboo loo room!

What a GORGEOUS house, it's everything I want in my own home too someday. So much personality and artistry!!
Incredible the relationship between minimalism, complexity and trees
Не перестаю удивляться,деталям и фактурам отделки,просматривая периодически этот шэдэвр.
The way the video was edited, it's like I'm watching an Art Film. so wonderful.

I feel so relaxed and engaged because of the person editing.
I really like the leaf silhouettes and sunlight coming from the house surrounding.
Shoutout to whoever edited this video. The flights flashing in sync with the music is chill
The house is stunningly beautiful, maybe it should be called the tiles house because that's the focal point. The tiles used are beautiful.
One of the most interesting homes I’ve ever seen.
those "bamboo" tiles are incredible!

Truly stunning. I had chills watching. If someone asked me the question "what is your ultimate dream house?" - this would be it.
*THIS* is kind of “modern architecture” we need more of.

The filmmaking is incredible in this video! Absolutely stunned by the rhythm and some of the sweet shots!
Astounding. Absolutely Remarkable
This is not my style at all, but i'm obsessed.
The voice of John Wardle is so calm and satisfying, it reminds me so much of the magical Jony Ive
voice.
Beautiful work. The house and the video.
Now that's a designer's house. So many interesting little details.
