Well, we have a population density of 281 per Km2 in the UK, whilst USA (ofc it will change depending on the state) has a pop. density of 36 per Km2. So it makes quite a big chunk of sense that they can actually have spacious houses with garages and all the fluff :D
We migrated to the UK with the missus a few years ago now, hopefully we will have the chance down the road to buy a property as well :)

my parents bought in Toronto in 1995. $280k for 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, decent back yard. Perfectly modest little house with some character (downtown - yorkville area near the University so the lots aren't even very large). Same house today... $2.2 MILLION DOLLARS. Homeowners who bought late 90's early 2000's made the best investments of their lives lmao. I look over at places like Texas and Utah and these guys have absolute mansions for mere hundreds of thousands.... shits crazy.

100% on board, my man. I think most people who have a real investment in their creators understand that UA-cam and even life are constantly changing things and you just gotta roll with it. Sometimes things might happen that you feel is important enough to include a new video about, or at least I hope you spent your time seeking adventure and just taping bits rather than searching for something to record, and I personally think there's nothing better than just a good person moving forward in life. I mean, sheesh, you're a homeowner now, dude! I don't even know how to afford a house! That's so amazing and life-changing that I beg you'll keep us updated. Who knows, maybe in a few years, you'll be looking back at this as the moment you became actually free, despite having so much time alone on the road.

When I turned 30, felt I should buy a house. Day of closing, went back to little rental cottage and laid on bed feeling so overcome by the enormity of what I’d done. But, here’s my big tip:
hopefully there’s no penalty about overpaying on monthly mortgage as whenever I could, I’d designate an extra hundred or three as “apply extra to principal”. Never had a concrete plan but ended up with the deed in hand, 12 years early. 😊

A home is good to have to for many reasons: de-stress, relax, build things, grow you own food, store things. Plus I looks like you got some woods around which has a calming effect.
Having a home base is a very important thing!! I struggled with the same decisions not too long ago as well. I’m a vagabond. I go where the wind blows me and I always thought buying a home ties you down to one spot, but I’ve never felt so free to go anywhere I want. You have a safe place to leave your stuff behind and you’ll have your own space to come home to. Congrats man!! Enjoy 🤙🏾

I remember my first apartment after college. My dad was threatening with paying rent for months while I had just started a new job, and one evening I came home and he started in on me, and I told him he didn't have to worry because I would be moving that weekend. Suddenly, he and my Mom were all teary-eyed and worried. Mom made me promise to bring my laundry and have dinner on Wednesday and make it to the lake house at least one weekend a month. It was so cute. I was very proud of myself. I I'm lived alone ever since.

Our housing market down here in MT doubled in four years. In the Flathead, tripled. We bought land, word of mouth. Moved from in a small town to land surrounded by forest service. We love it!

Meaning: Don't feel rushed to do/fix/improve all the things. Live there for a while and just make notes of things to do while living there. Enjoy your moment.

Home buying is a funny feeling. It seems so exciting, but it just boils down to a really big commitment that just makes existing slightly less of a pain in the ass lol

Living out of your truck by choice is really not a permanent move, everyone eventually gonna want a livable space with a real bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc..even if it costs more.
Congratulations on your first home. It can be a challenging experience. But there will come a time after the renovations are done, all your stuff is moved in and set up where you will look around feel like it was worth it.

Then I would start either laughing like a crazy person, or crying , also like a crazy person. Because I was equal parts excited and happy and terrified and confused!! I was 24 when I got, well built my 1st house. I won't lie,, it's Scary AF! BUT, JUST DO IT. I'm in my 60's now & on home #5, my last. There's a lot to be said for having a "home base". Safe place to stow stuff when you travel, a place to just cill if that's all you're in the mood for. Houses are work, but SO satisfying to know that YOU are the one benefiting & not a landlord. I'm bought a lake house cabin years ago from a friend and we didn't use a realtor and I bought the place fully furnished. That saved me tens of thousands of dollars by doing it that way. Again, a wise move on your part !
