I enjoyed the running commentary while you are flying. Nice video and very sorry for the loss. There was a few times before the incident that I also worried a bit on your behalf.
Sorry to hear mate😢 welcome to the club tho i guess haha. I am surrounded by water where i live up near Forster nsw and there isnt many fields here for me to fly at. In the last 7 years ive lost 3 quads in water and dunked a few but been able to retrieve them. I don't mind loosing the quad as much as i do the gopro for some reason haha because of this i built a waterproof quad that floats lol
I cannot believe how well you took that loss, I would have lost my damn mind! It'd be great to see a video on building the new drone and applying what you've learned from building Dronita
hard to make a channel and keep the drone cost down, good cameras are expensive! Best of luck with the next drone, water is unforgiving! Probs best not to land on the car though, you'll do a number on your paintwork with hard landings and exposed fixing hardware or props clipping anything.
Man, that sucks. I avoid water like hell. RIP Next build maybe recommending a micro 3 to 3.5 inch At least for me its less "looking over the shoulders" while I fly
Mate I highly recommend finding a footy field and flying low and fast coordinated turns long ones, learn to fly before you start throwing rolls over water lol
Had my first crash today, while maiden of naked GoPro. Glad to only count a crushed ND filter, it was however painful. Now, I realize it was only a kind warning from hobby. Rip Dronita.
I lost my favourite Apex 5" drone and a DJI action 2 camera in the ocean. The only up side of losing it in the ocean is that I didn't have to spend time looking for it! 🤣😂 At least i had the DVR footage from the goggles though.
As a new pilot I'm sure you have realized not to fly over water in the future. Be a smart pilot and practice more over land. You're in summer I believe while it's -25 degrees here. Can't wait to go fly someday soon!
I lost my DJI mini 3 pro into SALT water a few weeks ago, $1000nz gone in 1 second from one foolish mistake. I took it pretty well too, but it was a bit depressing later. RIP both yours and mine. PS, where did you grow up and or live in the past? You don't sound Aussie to me :-D
What comes to mind when I watched this is “cringe worthy”. Flying over water without understanding how GPS rescue works. Trying to get a fix inside the car. Walksnail has issues with GPS as well sometime requiring the unit to be moved or shielded. Speaking of which, you were sitting in a big faraday cage. Even if you had GPS working, you failed to consider the option of using the rescue mode if you lost video. It looked like you had decided to test your new monitor system for the first time over water. The default settings for failsafe are not right for rescue mode. Stage 1 still drops unless you set failsafe to turn on angle mode and the throttle to go just above hover for stage one. The location didn’t look ideal for rescue not hitting something while returning.

I ordered my monitor after watching your video yesterday. I am doing analog, so the monitor has AV input. You have the best setup on youtube.
Any new drone vids on the horizon? I'm hard into the hobby now thanks to you :)

I think the main lesson here was not to fly over water haha
The lesson should be "don´t be overconfidence"@@GogglesOFF
You got a spare?

Oh I know I wouldn't have been able to be so calm if I binned my drone.
Victim of the one more battery. Happens to everyone. It's been fun watching your journey. Water and trees kill reception.

You could put an inline switch for the VTX power and only turn it on when you're ready to fly.👍
Low Power Arm/Disarm takes care of that in the Goggles when activated. Its in the Goggle Menu.
@@JDDupuy Ah cool, I wasn't aware of that, thanks. I'll have a closer look at the settings in my GogglesX today.
We'll pay for it !!😊
Regarding your range: do you have a heated windscreen? If so, the wires will attentuate the signal.
Nah no fancy windshield like that, just crappy stock antennas I believe!

Rip Dronita.
Sounds like your learning avout voltage sag from the audio u heard while you were flying

Practicing FS over water. Great idea for clicks 😂
Flying in that much wind is always risky, try to fly in calm weather especially when your a beginner

Not a great idea to fly over water whilst learning, hope your bank okay to replace drone this time. Don't be so happy about it,lol
Tragic
I was sure this title was click bait. RIP Dronita.
