- Mitchell Reiss has distinguished himself as an international negotiator, a national security expert, and as a college president and professor. He was the President's Special Envoy for the Northern Ireland Peace Process from 2003 to 2007. For this work, he received the State Department's Foreign Affairs Award for Public Service. Previously, he helped launch an innovative multicultural organization focusing on North Korea's nuclear ambitions. From 2005-2012, he was a senior national security advisor to Governor Mitt Romney through two presidential election cycles. He is currently President of Washington College, in Chestertown, Maryland.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
