Val Scura in hot spring conditions | Dolomites 2024 (ski mountaineering)

Val Scura is for sure one of the most iconic couloirs in Dolomites. It is not so high and is looking to the east. We checked it day before and thought about skiing it in spring conditions. It is a short loop and we will do it fast....
First part was spring walking. During sunrise we reach snow. Easy nice ascend, great scenery. Last part with crampons. But when we stepped to the edge of the couloir it became extremely hot compared to few meters before. This was not a great sign. Clock was 9:30 when I went in to see if it is not as bad as it feels (hot). But also few turns lower down snow was wet, too wet. This is not skiing, it is simply too hot - returned back.
Top part of descend (over ascend direction) was hard/crusty but ok skiable. Than nice spring conditions that inspired us for next day adventure - coming soon😉
