Couloir under Aiguille de Chadornet | Chamonix 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Aiguille du Midi opening was postponed so we went to - Grands Montets - Argentiere Basin. Here we decide by weather for a line we spoted day before. SW couloir bellow Aiguille de Chadornet (3824 m). On the aproach/first part of ascend we met crew from our home country. Higher up they went different line (to the left). We started bootpacking, snow was not so good - at least for my taste. Higher up it was better but I was at the back without inspiration to break a trail today - it was deep in front day before😅
Skiing down above expectations - even some soft snow in couloir and spring conditions lower down. On that day only local area on Chadornet had ok weather with good visibility.

Powder on Les Courtes NE face* | Chamonix 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 281День тому
Day for a dream line - Les Courtes (3856 m) NE face Long aproach over Argentiere Basin to the bottom of the face. Great views on many surrounding lines. Succesfully over bergschrund and than a lot of hard work breaking a trail in front on this steep face. We teamed up with Spanish crew. It was deep even for the ascending plates. Higher up our progress was slow, more than hip deep with plates on...
Glacier Rond to West couloir | Chamonix 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 1,9 тис.14 днів тому
As in 2023 we headed to Chamonix at the end of april/start of may. But this year snow conditions were better and we skied some nice lines😊 For a first day we headed straight to Aiguille du Midi. Skied some super dry and light pow to the Cosmiques refuge. Here we decided to go Glacier Rond and exit through west couloir - no better place for new boots😅 We found some icy parts but most of skiing w...
April delivered powder - Kacji jezik | Julian Alps (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 24Місяць тому
My best skiing day in Julian Alps in 2023/24 ski seasson. After skiing in Dolomites our home mountains got april's delivery of powder. So we went to Martuljek group. First plan was to ski "Jugova grapa" couloir but for me "Kacji jezik" looked beter and was also long time on the wish list. So me and Bor turned to Kacji jezik and Samo continued to Jugova. On top of the line we met Marko and Marij...
Sunrise on Sasso Vernale + Sas de Valfreida powder | Dolomites 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 36Місяць тому
Sunrise adventure in beautiful Dolomites😊 Day before we have seen that we can get great spring sking conditions but only if we are early enough. After thinking of various plans we soon decided for our main goal Sasso Vernale (3058 m, line #1) and start time (early to reach summit at sunrise). But open to do additional lines/change plane according to the conditions during the day. So we started ...
Val Scura in hot spring conditions | Dolomites 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 167Місяць тому
Val Scura is for sure one of the most iconic couloirs in Dolomites. It is not so high and is looking to the east. We checked it day before and thought about skiing it in spring conditions. It is a short loop and we will do it fast.... First part was spring walking. During sunrise we reach snow. Easy nice ascend, great scenery. Last part with crampons. But when we stepped to the edge of the coul...
April's powder on Marmolada | Dolomites 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Місяць тому
Plan was to do shorter easy skitour after big first day. Marmolada looked like a good idea since it is north facing and above 3000 m. Original plan Punta Penia (3343 m) - highest peak of Dolomites didn't looked skiable from our direction (in present conditions). But next to it there was a line in the shade (between Punta Penia and Punta Rocca 3310 m). Higher we went better snow was under skis. ...

Big day in Sella massif | Dolomites 2024 (ski mountaineering)
Переглядів 184Місяць тому
April's delivery of fresh snow in Dolomites - we are on the way to ski😊 From last fall when I visited this part of Dolomites I knew we need to come back in winter. So for the first day it was logical to start from Passo Pordoi and explore couloirs of the Sella massif. First on the list was Holzer couloir. Two skiers were in front of us. First part was not the best, we hoped for some better snow...
Steep flow trail - M3do 2024 (enduro)
Переглядів 232Місяць тому
During summer temperatures in spring I did a short break from skiing riding steep fast trail on a bike. For sure our favourite home trail. M3do nails are bigger every year but after spring refresh and manicure it is so good - just let the brakes and enjoy the ride😊 📍M3do #m3do #steep #flow #enduro #spring #mtb #friends
Sand couloirs in Austria (ski touring)

Trophical ski conditions = couloirs full of snow Sahara sand 🏝️🏜️😅 After some time another day in Austria. I got an idea to ski those lines early in the winter but there was not enough snow. High temperatures and low expectations gave us another great day in the mountains. *lines are not steep but offer fast, relaxed skiing ⛷️ @anistenic, @reakolbl 🎥📷: @anistenic 📷: @reakolbl 📍Austrian Alps 30....
Tight couloir - second attempt | Brenta Dolomites
Переглядів 2002 місяці тому
In our first attempt of this couloir we climbed from the bottom up. At second crux of the line we were stopped by snow storm and harsh weather conditions. Only few minutes, than we skied powder in the bottom part of the line. But next day we saw a posibility to enter a line from top. So we went over Torri Dei Mori (2680 m). Top of this massif is spacious with beautiful views - tried to capture ...

Coldest and windiest start of the day in our stay in Dolomites Brenta. As we wanted first day above Groste top, today we reached Cima Groste (2901 m). We skied down to the next valley. Checked the conditions to the Campanille di Vallensinella (2940 m) but snow wasn't good for skiing. With so many options we wanted to ski something with better snow. So we went to unfinished line day before - mor...
Around Groste top - Brenta Dolomites

First plan was to summit Cima Falkner (2990 m) but snow was already wet at our arrival bellow the steep part of the line. With so many lines here it is not a problem to turn around and ski something else. So we checked one couloir spoted day before. Couloir/line turned out to be longer than expected - we reached Bocchetta Alta dei Camosci. Good snow offered great steep skiing. Bellow the line s...
Going home or staying in Brenta Dolomites?

After packing and cleaning the apartment we decided to use Madonna di Campiglio lifts (Groste top) and do a short skitour lap above ski resort. Beautifull weather, good snow and most important a lot of great lines. So in the end it was not a short lap and for sure we are not going home yet😅 ⛷️ @anistenic, @reakolbl 🎥📷: @anistenic 📷: @reakolbl 📍Dolomiti Brenta, Cima Roma, Cima di Vallazza, Bocch...

2:12 there was a massive crack in the snow, was it glacier, cave or river?

    • @anistenic
      @anistenic 10 днів тому

Yes, it is a crack - Bergschrund "A bergschrund is a type of crevasse or crevice that forms where a moving glacier separates from the stagnant ice above it. It is typically found at the head of a glacier, where the ice is moving fastest. Bergschrunds are often quite large and can present significant obstacles to climbers and mountaineers attempting to cross glaciers or ascend peaks." (www.quora.com/What-is-a-bergschrund)

Hi, it is hard work to ascend but views take away any pain and problems. Skiing down depends on snow condition. This time it was let say average but still allowed some great turns in steep terrain. It is steeper in real - I use Max lens + hyperview in horizontal orientation that captures wide view but makes slope look like flat. We are always happy after line like this and even went for another one. It is not easy to describe feelings of days like this but I enjoy every step/turn😊
