I’m still a newbie too but I feel like I have a decent idea of the capabilities of the A7. I personally would have let the camera control most of the settings by using either A or S priority for the challenge and only switched to manual if I had a really good idea of the end result I wanted
Mike, the RX100 Vii can absolutely go slower than 1/8 s on the shutter - it just has to be set into the mechanical shutter mode, you had it in electronic shutter mode.
Ever did a Style comparison? Like Wildlifephotographer vs Carphotographer? Give the Wildlifephotographer the full equipment and you are only allowed to use one lens no tripod or something like that
I always like these kinds of videos, this was my introduction to your channel and I like this content a lot! The thing I find when watching similar videos is that the professional gives the novice a huge boost by allowing them to watch them work. You could see her evolve as a photographer as the shoot went on, in the beginning it felt like she was looking for excuses why her images wouldn't be good and by the end she appeared to have more confidence, was directing the car more, running around, etc. I felt like I watched her gain skills as the video went on. Really nice work. It would be even better if you weren't double handicapped by not knowing the gear, maybe have an hour session (not filmed) ahead of time to get familiar with the equipment. She struggled to change a lens in the first challenge. You struggled with a shutter speed setting that I've never run into as an RX100M7 shooter. Getting familiar with new kit would have helped both of you a little.
Great video bro, the rx100 is a mad camera. I find I use it a lot more for video than photo. It does take a decent photo but I prefer my A7IV for that. Happy I could help out with loaning the camera for the thumbnail too hahah. P.S - You can go slower than that with the shutter. You must have had a weird setting on limiting the shutter speed. Mine can go as slow as 30 seconds. Cheers!
My first Sony camera was a Sony RX100V. It is quite capable for its size. It helped me get familiar with the old Sony menu. Later that was useful with the a6600, and then a7III. Nice to see that it produces good results in good hands.
Oof, the Rx100 is a $1200 camera and it CAN do 30” exposures. It’s better than you think! You just needed more time to figure it out. I used to shoot on a $400 point and shoot, and even that did long exposures
I like the carphoto videos, but i miss the street POV videos and the photo challenges with the other guys and the photo ratings of the community at the video end.
My comment isn't a bash on the camera of choice for the video or the video itself because I understand what the main point of the video is by showing that you can still make great photo's with Amateur photography gear and it was done very well here. But I think it's more amazing that a camera in the $1,600 price range counts as an amateur camera in today's photography market. Most amateur photographers aren't going to be able to or be willing to spend $1,600 on a camera. Also, it wouldn't be wise for an amateur to spend $1,600 on a point and shoot camera if they're planning on upgrading to a better camera in the near future. While this is a great concept for a video to show that you can create great shots with inexpensive gear especially when you have the disadvantage of using a point and shoot camera VS a pro camera. But $1,600 for a point and shoot camera isn't exactly inexpensive. Photography is definitely changing if $1,600 is considered an amateur camera price range.
Hello, which preset exactly did you use in these photos 13:27 , I bought your presets, but I loved this edition and I would like to know which one it is exactly in this photo, thank you :)
damn i did not pay attention that you remove the driver on almost every of your shots but it is super nicely done. great video and amazing concept as always
Yo so I have a stock canon 4000d for my car photography it’s my first camera I’ve had it about 4 years but I’m looking to upgrade to something with much better image quality but something budget friendly under £1000 preferably a canon any recommendations ??
what? min shutter of the Rx100 is 1/8th of a second? I learned photography on a Canon G7X (so the canon equivalent to the Rx100) and did long exposure with that. up to 30 seconds, i think i may even had a bulb mode
Another banger Mike! Inspiring once again. Would love to be at a shoot of yours. If you're ever in the Netherlands and you need a guinea pig or another amateur, hit met up! xD
Amount of money a camera cost or the size doesn’t make a camera shitty or determine anything. They’re tools and they’re both going to capture an image in 2d. It’s the person behind the camera that makes all the difference.
The pro photo looked over processed with great composition. The noob image looked to be in better quality but had poor lighting, poorly edited, poor framing. Would of been cool to see the noob use the preset. Great marketing. "Look how bad the noob photos were without the preset, bang, now they're great and you can be great too for a reasonable price of $99.99"
I find it amusing that professionals always think they’re better photographers than amateurs and all because they how to run a business, which has nothing to do with being anything other than an adequate photographer.
It's always annoying when someone tells you that: "Bro your camera is so good"!!! No, the camera isn't good or bad, it just conveys what the photographer "sees". Mike, once again you have shown us many years of experience, local knowledge and a trained photographer's eye can make a huge difference! Taking a good photo is only one side of the coin, the other is the post-production of the final image. Even in the analogue era, post-processing was still done, but it was much harder then than it is now. Anyway...do you think that if they had the technology of today they wouldn't have touched the images? Naah...I don't think so...Good content as always Mike! Keep going 🔥
Its sad that your picture comparison at the end isnt with the raw footage. I mean you can do alot with LR or smthg else For a comparison please raw footage.
she been shooting for a year but doesnt know how to switch a lens or which lens to use @2:57. Sounds like she should watch some youtube tutorials by North Borders 🤣
ok, give us an honest answer, she states she has been doing photography for over a year, but does not know anything about lenses or even how to change a lens? Seriously????
I have never heard anyone using a Sony A7 say these words "it's so difficult with the low light."
Who wouldve guessed a ISO of 100k wouldnt be enough
Dude that statement rattled me@@sesto194
She was probably using the wrong settings xD she's a newb
I’m still a newbie too but I feel like I have a decent idea of the capabilities of the A7. I personally would have let the camera control most of the settings by using either A or S priority for the challenge and only switched to manual if I had a really good idea of the end result I wanted
To be far, the A7R series isnt the best for low light.
I love how she say shi**y camera on Sony rx 100 VII, which is litteraly 1300 pounds, pocket swiss army knife camera :D :D
Mike, the RX100 Vii can absolutely go slower than 1/8 s on the shutter - it just has to be set into the mechanical shutter mode, you had it in electronic shutter mode.
...or continuous shooting, that also limits the shutter to 1/8s. To go slower, it has to be in single-shot mode.
Loves this series always interesting to see how you and the amature adapt to the situation to get the best shots!👏🏻👏🏻
1 year photography experience and she doesn't know the difference between the lenses??
Ever did a Style comparison? Like Wildlifephotographer vs Carphotographer? Give the Wildlifephotographer the full equipment and you are only allowed to use one lens no tripod or something like that

seeing north borders use the same camera specs as i do and still pull great photos just makes me happy on the camera that im currently using
Great video bro, the rx100 is a mad camera. I find I use it a lot more for video than photo. It does take a decent photo but I prefer my A7IV for that.

great to see this series again keep up the great work mike!!!
been watching this guy for around 3 years now (during covid era) always love these videos .
My first Sony camera was a Sony RX100V. It is quite capable for its size. It helped me get familiar with the old Sony menu. Later that was useful with the a6600, and then a7III.

I think the most decisive thing here is your edits , the vibe is much better in your pictures !
I like the carphoto videos, but i miss the street POV videos and the photo challenges with the other guys and the photo ratings of the community at the video end.
What were you guys thinking man? The pro should just shoot Yulia as a model and everyone wins.
lol
this is the content we really like, thank you Mike for inspiring all of us
glad you enjoyed it man! got another one coming out mid jan 😁
Just binged watched that series yesterday again so nice to see it again
One year of experience... that one time you bought a camera with a kit lens, tried to figure it out and gave up... a year ago. Lol
Started watching you Boyz like back in 17', definitely grown up since. very entertaining
Julia's triple shot while he was fixing the batter where my favorites from the shoot.
Love the idea for this video! It's definitely something I thought about when I was doing videography... but I guess the juries still out? Lol

тоже немного был шокирован неожиданной русской речью

Always learning new stuff from your videos. I only watch to relax or be entertained, but it's a sick bonus
Great stuff! Love the banter
One year my ass, if she doesent know the difference between a 15-35 and a 600mm prime maybe first time touching a camera?
This looks super fun!
Hello, which preset exactly did you use in these photos 13:27 , I bought your presets, but I loved this edition and I would like to know which one it is exactly in this photo, thank you :)

Great competition with a great car and nice results👏
Which chestbelt is that you are using for holding your IPhone?
Not sure what point you're trying to prove. Both of those cameras are very expensive and capable lol
Damm bro the thing I could do with the car the locations and the lens choice >>>

The drivers air jordans and mazda matched so well
actually shows that you dont really need expensive gear to shoot amazing photos

Wow I was js looking through the Chanel lol u should bring out the Nikon d3300 again
Any rx100 variant is a great camera.
The Limon cameo
For a long time I couldn’t understand why the girl had such a familiar accent, and then I heard a familiar language at 7:02 :)
*Angry Faye noises in the background*
watch is sick mate
Which watch was he wearing?
@@datvu6no clue but it looks cool
bro's cheap camera also worth like 1600$ tf?
These videos make me want to visit Australia
the guy calls himself a pro, doesnt even know how to go under 1/8 and underrates the RX100 low light capabilities, smh
I don’t think anyone can possibly take a bad photo of an RX7
Another banger Mike! Inspiring once again. Would love to be at a shoot of yours. If you're ever in the Netherlands and you need a guinea pig or another amateur, hit met up! xD

MIke what you doing man? You should chose a Nikon for this battle 🤣🤣🤣
Put some respeck on that RX100 that camera is an S Tier point and shoot
Not enough slow motion shots of Mike's hair blowing in the windy sunset.
Впечатляющее видео особенно на моменте когда она сказала "Стоп, я хочу вот сдесь, смотри сюда"
Which rooftop was that first location?
10:18 👀
this is all great, but why didn'y you make Mike really suffer and shoot with Nikon D800?
Bro you could have taken more 1/8 shutterspeed images and then merge them later as one longer exposure. Not an excuse 😉😉😂😂❤❤
I find it amusing that professionals always think they’re better photographers than amateurs and all because they how to run a business, which has nothing to do with being anything other than an adequate photographer.
девушка русская как я понял ))

Its sad that your picture comparison at the end isnt with the raw footage. I mean you can do alot with LR or smthg else

7:53 = not now chief, I’m in the fuckin zone!
Its never the camera, its the shooter. Go get a dslr for cheap and youll be fine.
Sometimes it's the camera tho...
You need to agree though that the more expensive camera had better shots despite an amateur using it...
she been shooting for a year but doesnt know how to switch a lens or which lens to use @2:57. Sounds like she should watch some youtube tutorials by North Borders
🤣
tonight we are going to have 3 rounds in 3 different locations... 💀
Will go slower than 1/8 with mechanical shutter
Her photos are so bad 😅 that’s below amateur level
ok, give us an honest answer, she states she has been doing photography for over a year, but does not know anything about lenses or even how to change a lens? Seriously????
bring back mustache mike!
Day 474728948593 of waiting for Mike to drop a bad vid. Still hasn’t happened, amazing work bro!
