Welcome to "Tales from Tuscany"!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!
TODAY'S VLOG...
I'd always heard of Livorno, without knowing much about it apart from the fact that it lay on the coast and was a major port town.
In all honestly, I was more than surprised by this vibrant and very elegant coastal city, which is colourful, vivacious, multi-faceted and has ana amazing coastal vibe which I love.
Much maligned and relatively off the tourist tracks, this city deserves a better wrap than what it gets.

Never had I ever had any interest to visit Livorno! … but the market! And the promenade…gorgeous Mediterranean Sea..clear water and checkerboard tiles ! ❤
Livorno is very underrated and I had no idea it was so lovely! It's a gorgeous hidden gem and I know many people who live there and love it! It's such an elegant smaller city. Thanks so much for watching 🥰🤗😘

You did it again❣️Livorno is such a lovely city. The market amazing. I can't believe you said that about architecture, drawing houses when you were younger. I was the same, wanted to be an architect until someone told me I had to be good at maths😆 I have taken so many photos on my travels of different buildings & houses. We loved your beautiful video of our little paradise in Tuscany. We wish more people knew of the beauty and culture of Livorno because it is a very different place than many bigger Tuscany towns. Your video showed just how wonderful and Tasty 😋 it can be!! We love calling this place home ♥
It truly is such a beautiful part of the coastline and Livorno is a unique and diverse city, with so much to offer! Absolutely loved that huge indoor market. I think Livorno was badly bombed during WW2 and many historic buildings destroyed. Architecture mixed as a result. Intriguing place, worth a visit - and a walk along the mesmerising promenade! Thanks for the video. ❤️👍

You’re welcome. Not that I’m aware of but within a reachable distance there are lovely stretches of sandy beaches at Viareggio, Forti dei Marmi and others. Livorno was mostly rock or pebble beaches from what I could see but I’m not certain if there are others with sand. Thank you for watching! 🥰🤗♥️
