- The camper conversion continues. This week I've added bench seats, started the installation of stabilizer jacks, and added a fireplace.
Thanks for taking a look!
Love the fireplace
Are those “RV” windows or just house windows?
Yeah, I think you have to keep the plaid cushions. They have an 80's sailboat saloon vibe.
My friend did the same thing to a pop up. Now it weighs 1620 pounds. I noticed right away that the tongue has too much flex. Eventually it will break. So I’m replacing the entire tongue with heavier steel from just in front of the axle all the way to the front. The frame is way too thin.
It's been a few years but I did weigh the camper in one of the videos. I seem to remember it being well under 1,000#.
Really enjoying this build I also acquired a pop up that I am considering doing this conversion to
Best of luck and thanks for your comments.
Nice build. Those cushions are in very good condition; I would definitely keep them.
I’ve been following you through the build. This looks real nice. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next one.
Thanks! It's coming along well.
Love the project just can’t understand why you would put a flat Front end on it not exactly aerodynamically pleasing.🇺🇸👍
Is that a one person bed?
It was a little over 6' wide, can sleep two.
This is beautiful! I would love to do this to my pop up. I have done a lot of things but building is not been one of them. Would love to try( a little nervous though:)
We’ve done a similar bench bed (not as wide) but instead of using the table we made a slat slide out system. Also put a bench bed against the opposite side wall that slides out sideways to make a cot sized bed (blocks a tiny bit of the door but when your sleeping it isn’t a prob) we are able to have a small kitchenette between both beds with fold out extra counter space and a small portable potty that slides out of an enclosed spot under the fold out counter space Perfect for the two of us
Did you use the pop up camper title or did you get a new one?
lookin great.. nice work. did u add a lot of weight to the trailer? will it hold up? like to see it on the road cause i would like to do the same... thank u
It weighs around a thousand pounds at the moment. Pretty light. I still may upgrade the axle, we'll see.
Do you know how much your camper weighs now?
It's around 1,000 pounds currently.
